You need to send a text message to receive a code that you give to the ticket desk at the cinema.

text film to 241 and they send you the code

You call or text 'film' to 241 for free and the return text costs you 35p.

"To call or text 241 or 80241 is free. To receive a text ticket you'll be charged a rate of 35p per text."

So yes you do need credit on the sim. Have a look at the orange website for full details.

Martin MSE explains how it works here: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/orange-wednesday
  • Hi Folks,
I left Orange for VF (I'm on contract) - but got a free sim to access orange wednesdays. I've registered it and was told there is a £1 credit and 100 texts for free. But..... I'm not getting ang reply when I text 'film' to 241 - apart from one this week that said 'sorry you missed last weeks film - text 'yes' to 2412' - and that didn't work either

So, I guess I'm going to have to put some credit on there - what's the smallest amount I can load and the easiest way - I've not done payg!

    Thanks

    £5 for a voucher from the newsagent/supermarket.

They have a unique number on them which you type in to your handset (via the top up number) and it is topped up immediately.
  • Off I trot then.
