Been a busy time deep cleaning the house. It looks so clean now. Just have to keep it that way, a hard job with a teenage male and husband!

I have a cream carpet to clean around the edge where the dust has fallen, not sure what the best thing to use is. Also have a cream couch to clean where people rub past the arm. Will take the cover off from the seat pad where it got dirty and wash it.

Have some washing to do so will be mopping at the same time.

Went out shopping for the first time last night. It was cold but not windy up in Scotland. We had a sprinkling of snow which looks lovely and great for SAD especially when the sun is out!

Used some of my M&S vouchers for some luxury foods I can't get elsewhere, lovely getting it for free.

Bought a generator, we had such an awful power cut at new year so now prepared

Got the agent coming on Monday to take photos for the schedule, so using the weekend to touch up walls and paint areas that have got worn. It should be ready to sell on the 29th.

    Happy birthday LilMissSmokeyBabe:)

Had pineapple and grapefruit juice, Cornflakes and Lady Grey Tea for breakfast.

    Will have pizza for tea

Lunch, will look in the cupboard and have what I have in leftovers

(((Big hugs))) to who needs them

    Morning All

Well yesterdays storms meant I took 2 hours to get home from work - not as bad as some people though.

I got in OK to day but loads of people are not in the office, so I think I will be off home early today.

Old style not going too well - I just have no energy when I get in from work, and when I have days at home with the LO's I do too much playing.

Following a thread on here, DH and I looked at bread prices, and he is now usig the breadmaker more - we have lost the intructions, and I have not had time for a lesson yet ;) . I think it worked out the flour cost about 1/3 of the price of bread.

Anyway as I have made it in to work I ought to get on

    Hugs to all

Morning all (again). I've just typed up a long-winded post and then it just disappeared. It's this laptop I'm sure of it.

Anyway big hugs to all who need them and congratulations to all those celebrating.

I haven't posted for a few days but have been looking in from time to time. We escaped the winds yesterday, it was just a bit cold and icy(following a bit of snow on Wednesday). I spoke to my dad, who lives in the W Mids and they had been effected with blown down fences and flying greenhouses.

My dh is still suffering badly from his broken ribs so I've been off all week. He still can't get out of bed without help and also needs help with the necessities. This morning he fainted in the bathroom - fortunately I was able to sit him down before he fell and then just held on to him for dear life until he was conscious again. I can't tell you how much admiration I have for the carers in the world who deal with these situations daily.

Last night I reversed dh's car (it's new and posh and much better than my old thing) into the wall. It wouldn't be so bad but it has reversing sensors but in my defence they didn't beep until just before I hit the wall. Nasty scratched bumper but nothing broken. I confessed to dh and he just said "never mind" - he must be poorly!!

Anyway I've got loads done on the flylady side and it looks as though I'm going to be at home for part of next week as well so should get more done then. On the grocery side of things - well I really don't need much next week as I've plenty in the freezer. And I sold my first book on Amazon - so for every negative there is a positive.

Take care everyone and have a great day.

    Morning everyone :)

I haven't been around for a little while. I have been dealing with a lot of family thing over the last week which has taken up my time. Hello to all of the new members :)

Moggins - have you got any puff pastry? you could put the onions in there and it would be a lot quicker than making your own.

DLB - sorry to hear the fence saga is still continuing.

Catowen - Hugs to you, I still haven't broken the news to some of my close family and friends and am dreading it. We use Skype (internet camera) for all of my rellies abroad and it is a brilliant and cheap way of keeping in touch.

Today is a fairly quiet day. Ds is at school and then off to a friends for tea. DD and I are currently watching Dora the Explorer before starting a bit of a mega tidy/washing/ironing session. If DD will have a nap I can do a bit of wrapping as it is her birthday next week.

OH has been away for the last few days and we are going to put the kids to bed and have a nice dinner. I would like to watch Big Brother but will see how it goes.

Have a lovely day everyone :)

Had a bad day with Lily yesterday. She was just generally grotty and wouldn't settle or eat properly. She did have a decent night though, so fingers crossed today will be better.

Lots to do with her next week. We have the hearing test, a paediatrician appointment to follow up on her meningitis, and possibly her first set of immunisations if everyone says that we can go ahead.

This morning I have started to prepare tea, put some washing on, and put some out on the line that kicked off at silly o'clock this morning. Washing up sorted, Lily's bottles sorted.

All that remains is to get the washing in, sort out the stuff in the machine, and get a pressie for my grandad's birthday.

  • Morning Guys!

Not feeling very well at all today:mad: ....I had a few jabs on Monday but one in particular (in my right butt cheek) has gone all hard, and I think she has injected the wrong place. It really hurts and was in tears earlier and my pain threshold is pretty good. I also have some bruises appearing around my right ankle:confused: ...I dont know what is going on....please someone shoot me:D My fab GP is not in till Monday:eek:   I will see how I am tomorrow as I may need to call the emergency doc. I can barely walk today and feeling totally fed up.

Our cooker is being fixed today and I have a surveyor coming to sign off on the bathroom. He wont be happy as some jobs still havent been finished.

OH has done the downstairs for me and I helped with a little polishing. DD stripped her bed this morning-she has been great! She even suggested that if I didnt feel up to going to the cinema later, we could do some latch hooking together:rotfl: ...shes funny! Might treat her to a chineese later..its her fav and we only have Friday night egg and chips on the agenda:D ....any excuse for a take-away but I will try to be good..lol.

Anyway, Im gonna go and rest. Hugs to everyone.

Hello all, i havent been on for quite some time as my computer is broken. I dropped my ds at pre-school this morning and i am now sipping a hot chocolate in my nearest internet cafe!! I should be at home doing housework but i am having withdrawal symptoms through lack of coming on moneysaving.I hope to be back on line sometime next week as i have a new computer coming. I will probably come back here before then though. Its pretty cool, although i do feel a bit weird as i am a 42 year old housewife and the rest are young students!!hehe. Anyway, i hope every-one is ok and i intend catching up asap. Take care all, love Elaine

    Morning all

Not done very well today, didn’t wake up until 0800 this morning L. So running very much behind already!

Left work late last night, got home at 2045 and then started cooking. I made some lentil soup and vegetable chilli, put on two loads of washing, before I knew it 2300 had come round! How does that happen? I think I need some OS magic speed-up pills.

But, was due meet OH (:o) tonight, but as he got stuck at Rugby due to weather we can’t go out :( But that does mean I can catch up with an hour’s worth of work here today and then go home and get a few things done before my sister and husband come over.

Catowen, aww, hugs. That is very sad about your friend going, but think of the holidays! Looks like we will definitely have to meet up soon! Let me get my diary straight (have to find out dates for move first, fingers crossed) and then we can arrange :D

    Happy birthday little smokeybabe.

Hugs tinkerbelluk, it happens to all of us at some point. I even spent £40 on a food processor once to make hummus and it was disgusting! I still buy shop made, I just can’t seem to make it at home.

Have a good day moggins, sounds like you have a lot on at the mo!

Dlb – oh no! Sending calm your way :)

Taplady, well done on the diet. I would have thought with your tapping tendencies 10 000 steps would have been easy ;)

((((Penny-Pincher)))) sorry the injection hurt. I hope you start to feel better.

Right, had better get to work MPxx
