  • Morning all :D

Nothing much from me today although since I've been feeling a little down my cooking has gone to pot! Last night I had to chuck out a pot of mash and a batch of hummas as both were awful so I ended up with toast for dinner

Anyway, hopefully things will improve as I'm planning a curry this evening

Apart from that my plan is to really make a go at my college work this weekend and not be side tracked looking at stuff for the extension!

Kaz - THe last one I bought was from Shaws if that helps (there's the one on wood street?)

Anyway, thats all from me at the moment. As always take or leave the :grouphug: as needed.

  • Morning everyone :hello: hope you have all come through the storms unscathed.

    Happy birthday young Smokybabe.

I asked XDH if he would put the Christmas tree and decs back up in the attic for me. That was around 4th Jan and as I no longer have any nagging rights I had to wait for him to decide when he would do it. Last night was that night. :j I now have lots of space in my bedroom.

I thought it would be a nice gesture to cook dinner for him as he was going out of his way to help me. So, we had the last of the Christmas turkey with lots of veg, gravy and mash. That has made some space in the freezer too so a good night all round.

This weekend I hope to do more clearing out to try and free up as much space as possible as I feel the house is beginning to feel cramped.

Today, I will need to try and sort out some holidays. For some reason I had all the wrong dates in my head and I now find that I will be clashing with my boss - and guess who will win that one.

Edited to say: Cat, sorry to hear that your friend is moving much further away, much sooner. You can still keep in touch with her by e-mail and the likes. You can also challenge yourself to save up enough money to have a fabulous holiday on the other side of the world. It is sad to lose a very good friend though.
Have a great day everyone. x

  • Catowen I know what you are going through, my best friend moved to Devon, not as far as your friend, but still a trek when you don't drive.

Be encouraged that you have loads of friends on here, anytime you need a chat log on. There is always a friendly ear a cup of tea an a huge plate of Cheesecake (sorry I love the Golden Girls) for all.

    Morning all

(((((((((((((((((((Cat))))))))))))))) That must have been a nasty shock.

I am absolutely shattered as DD kept waking me up in the night, I now have to do the school run and then take my parents shopping, oh what joy. I needed something urgently from Tesco and have now forgotten what it is as I didn't write it straight down on the list! :(

    Morning all:hello:
Hugs to Catowen, I hate it when people move away:(

Friday :j Haven't had any wine all week (go me :D ), so off to Tesco for 3 bottles to last today and the weekend.

Must make some bread today. Might do a batch of cinnamon rolls for the kids' breakfasts tomorrow and Sunday.

Breakfast -kids have had porridge and toast, I shall have some fruit later.

Lunch - kids have got cheese and crackers, carrot sticks, choc chip buns, fruit, dried cranberries
I shall have soup probably. And some fruit.

Supper - veal escalopes with mozzarella cooked in tomato sauce, veg and potatoes/pasta

Have a good day all ;)

    Good morning everyone!
Up at 6, made cranberry muffins for breakfast :) Bree Van De Kamp can kiss my wooden spoon LOL
Looking forward to today as it's yoga day, and the veg box comes today so tea will be pork chops with whatever is in the box.
Got bout third of a tin of salmon in fridge for lunch  cos i spose you cant freeze it :(
ANother cheque in the bank from ebay sales :)
Walking to town again - saving ANOTHER 60p:)
THen going to the gym, little bit of weight training and a shower and a free newspaper and a coffee - saves using my gas and electric, may as well make the most of my subscription.
Getting my £20 out of the bank today for the next weeks' groceries but still managing to be as tight as a duck's you know what under water;) My kids ate 3lb bananas in just over a day so its fruit fruit fruit on my list.
I have no trouble getting up in the morning - re. the SAD my new phone has a lovely alarm tone which seems to make you wake naturally - not with a jolt. I think that valuing that hour in the morning before everyone else is up is as much a part of me being OS as money saving. And I am awake, and alive, which has to be a good thing!
    Have a fantastic day everyone.
