'Morning everyone :hello: Hope everyone who has been under the weather is feeling a lot better. (((Hugs))) to everyone who needs one. (((Catowen))) the internet is making it so much easier to keep in touch with people - my daughters are away at University (and certainly not as far away as you friend will be) and email is wonderful for getting a quick thought or message to them
Today is my day off ... I am so glad I don't have to go out today. Slow cooker is on. I am attempting pea and ham soup today. I've never used dried peas before (I soaked them overnight) and I'm using the stock from the gammon I cooked at the weekend (plus a little of the left over gammon that I'd popped into the freezer). Yoghurt maker is also on.
I'll probably put the washing machine on later. Today however, is my chill out dayA bit like taking a holiday at home
Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Morning all
Not normally on this early but have managed to squeeze in 10 min internet time before my boss comes in!!
Am surprisingly awake this morning, was up quite late worrying about my mum, she'd been down to Manchester with work and had got stuck with the bad weather and the trafficshe phone about 12.15 am to let me know she was ok, but didn't really sleep too well... had a very odd dream about dolphins in a fountain at Harlow Carr
Anyway best get on  look forward to catching to with the thread whilst enjoying a glass of wine later
take care everyone and :grouphug: to all those who want/need them :grouphug:

The council are here they are having to rip up the lovley new fence because the witch has complained!!!!!!!!
They want it moving a foot further along as they said it isnt how it was, if SHE had done it right in the blo@dy first place!! Why do the council have to put it right whenits her fault, the council inspector is moving it just to keep the peace, im am fuming!!!
Oh Dear, take a deep breathe and count to ten, it is very difficult when some people don't understand the meaning of the word compromise, try not to let the person in question see how much it has upset you, smile and ask the gentleman if he would like a cup of tea. This way you come out on top and others will see how trival the situation was in the first place.

((((((((((((((((dlb)))))))))))))))) Is there anyway you can sneak into the witches garden whilst the fence is down and plant a russian vine?
Feeling slightly weird because of the lack of sleep I think but I must get on, why did I menu plan Alsation Onion Tart for tea tonight? It means I have to come home from shopping and make pastryI have to do it though as I have 2lb chopped red onions thawed out on my worktop and they will go to waste if I don't use them. I think I will ask DH if he can get a couple of jobs done for me whilst I'm out.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

dlb Just a thought, with all this windy weather, she should watch out a house doesn't land on her.

Good morning everyone
It's very cold and windy in County Antrim
We took our dud TV back to Tesco and received a full refund. They didn't have any suitable replacements on the shelves so, as it's a 2nd TV anyway, we will have to wait until next weekend when we are taking Friday off and visiting, among others, a much larger Tesco store about 10 miles away.
My mother is coming up today to stop overnight with us as she does most weekends. I usually have a nice chat with her Friday afternoons then we will all hopefully relax in front of the TV later.
Tomorrow we are all going out for a belated birthday lunch for my mother. This was originally planned for last weekend but both my partner and I were sick.
Hope everyone has a good day.0 -
Good morning everyone
((((hugs)))))) to catowen and dlb, and all of us who could use big hugs.
A day out for me today, my car gets a new radio fitted, bought in Halfords sale with Christmas money - free fitting too, yay. I've been without the calming strains of Classic FM between home visits to clients for far too long!
Then I'm meeting a friend for a bowl of soup in a new eating place and a good catch-up of news and stories - lovely. I think I'll get used to this working part-time lark....
So al in all, it's set to be a wonderful day! Turkey defrosting for a stir fry meal tonight, and an early night. Luckily the underlying cause of my recent health challenges has been identified and the wonderful medic who's helping me is sending supplies which he's confident will help me feel better in the long term - so looking forward to feeling less overdrawn on my energy bank!!
Have a good and less snowy / windy day!
