Morning everyone :j
Gosh it's been some time since I posted this early in the morning - for some reason I'm organised today :T
Had a lovely surprise when I got up this morning, DD was already downstairs dressed and readyOMG just thought - she hasn't had her brekkie yet (what a bad mum I am!!!) Better dash - will log back on later
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
thriftlady wrote:Supper - veal escalopes with mozzarella cooked in tomato sauce, veg and potatoes/pasta
Thriftlady that is spooky. I have just been trying to find a supermarket that stocks veal as I have most of a bottle of marsala wine left over from Christmas and fancied making veal marsala. It's not a meat that you hear about a lot these days because of the rearing conditions (that's why I gave up eating it many years ago). I know Tesco sells it but the online info doesn't say about the conditions in which the calf is kept so not sure that my conscience will let me buy it. Anyone know of any humanely-reared veal stockists?"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Good morning All
Amiee I too watch Ugly Betty, bless her!
(((((catowen))))), I remember when my mum moved to Spain, when I was 16, I thought it was the end of the world, But I managed 3 decent trips a year to visit.
OH had a lie in this morning, as he's taking my car to work, so the 1/2 hr walk has been saved for the extra snooze.
DLB our school is openI could have done with a day off work!!!
Jade & Shilpa up for eviction, who will be voting for who? I must admit - Ive allready voted for Jade to leave!!! I think that her response to Shilpa last night was a way of trying to turn things round (grovel),after she was spoken too in the diary room ref trying to pronounce Shilpa's surname! but I think its too late.
Anyway, best get motivated and get ready for the school run
Have a great day all - take care
love as usual

Got bout third of a tin of salmon in fridge for lunch  cos i spose you cant freeze it...
According to this website you can!4. Can you store canned salmon in the fridge or freezer after opening?
Yes. Canned salmon can be refrigerated for up to three (3) days after opening without spoiling. You can also freeze canned salmon in plastic freezer bags or containers. Just remember to thaw the frozen salmon before use. Freezing extends the storage time by up to three (3) months or more. As with the handling of any perishable food, however, canned salmon should not be left at room temperature for unnecessary periods of time after opening.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Happy Birthday to Miss Smokybabe
((((Hugs)))) to Cat, what a shock for you.
Well the heating still isnt fixed and the electric has been on and off, this house is absolutley freezing the power just came on at 8am so I've switched the confector heater on in the lounge to warm it up before dd wakes up.
I need to get on with cleaning the house today and finishing clearing out DD room for the start of the decorating, I'm not hopefull its going to get done at the weekend TBH, DH pulled a face when I mentioned it last night.

We should actually eat more veal as it is a by-product of the dairy industry. The more demand there is for veal the less male calves born to dairy cows will be shot at birth.0 -
Morning everyone
No damage here from the gales, although a friend did slide her Clio into the back of a LandRover - there was snow on the road at the time. She was OK; her car slightly damaged; the LandRover not at all.
Today I'm waiting in for Dell to deliver a computer for our Clio friend, then I'll install it for her.
Meanwhile, penninewoman has another out-of-school event at the local football ground today. Hope it goes off better than the last one. Fingers and toes crossed.
Maybe I should sort out all of the bits and pieces in this room from my former life. Do I really need to keep all of that stuff. NO. But had better shred it I think.
So, a shredding day . . . . B O R I N G but needs must.
Have a great Friday everyone.
