Midred, it too was my fear that I would apply and get knocked back. Every time I am accepted I see it as a minor miracle.;)

Thanks everyone else for the cheers:D

    Good Things about today :j
    • Done another 4 hours at part time job - so that's an extra £49 in total I will have made
    • Finally got paid the £66 outstanding for the summer work I did
    • A flurry of activity with ebay. One of my items is at £30 with 2 days to go which I wasn't really expecting
    • Message on answer machine from a guy referred by npower about the cavity wall insulation, so a step forward with that
    Bad Things about today :exclamati
    • Sunday night buyer still hasn't paid. Will send her an email, and if still no response will have to start a dispute.

  • Well done on your good things from yesterday Banwa, all really good stuff.

Hope your ebay buyer pays up soon, it's so frustrating when they don't communicate.

    Good Things about today :j
    • Egg transferred to old Santander credit card 0% tol Sept 2012 deal. That means all cc debt is 0% for a good while .Need to tidy up the straggly leftovers, then I can pay minimum(ish) payments to those and concentrate on getting rid of overdraft.
    • Worked 6.30 - 10.15 tonight bringing DFD forward by 15 hours (every little helps)
    Bad Things about today:exclamati
    • Blew weekly budget. £148 budget, £219 actual.

  • :T Brilliant - well done! :T
  • You are doing amazingly well with those 0 percent deals. I daren't push it anymore with mine. Terrified of getting refused! I'm still stunned at getting accepted for a current account with Co-op.

It's the grocery shopping which pushes me over budget too. All the goodies!! I hate Tesco, although I'm changing my mind since I discovered I could triple my points with spanky. Opps I mean Redspottedhanky.

:j:j:jFantastic! That's brilliant news (and so much better than a consolidation loan!)

A wee bit of advice (for anyone reading) - always pay more than the minimum due - even by a few £s.

Credit reports have changed (I got one recently after not having one for a while) and they now show your cc statement balance each month, and the amount you've paid. Any minimum payments are now shown with a big fat, impossible to miss M beside them:(

This can affect your ability to obtain credit in the future but even paying a couple £s more, avoids this "marker" being placed on your file. HTH
    Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
    2016 Sell: £125/£250
    £1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000
    Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!

    What is spanky/redspottedhanky?

It really is fab, I'm so pleased with it. I smashed my Morphy Richards one, I was gutted, it burnt all the element part of it and the only bit I could salvage was the lid. And guess what? The lid fits the new one like a glove (it has a rubber seal on it so is better than the Aldi lid). I think it is a rebranded Morphy Richards, and seeing as it was half the price, I'm pretty chuffed. Made my first stretchy chicken in a goodly long while as soon as I got it home - just finished it off now in a pie - yummy:D

Thank you SO MUCH for talking me out of the consolidation loan. I can't tell you how glad I am.:T:A

I had no idea about this until you posted it on a previous thread of mine, so thank you. I usually overpay on everything but to snowball effectively, I need to be paying as little as I can get away with on the lowest APRs, but with this bit of inside knowledge I have set up SOs to all my creditors of £3 per week, and I'll just change the one I am targetting in APR order.
    :)
