    Choice
    • £1100 per month on debt + enjoyment = DFD September 2013 (result happiness?)
    • £1200 per month on debt + austerity = DFD July 2013 OR (result misery?)

I think you've already worked this one out for yourself - but for what it's worth, I think that if you can afford it, then you should give yourself the £100 leeway.

Remember, this is about changing your approach, but not creating such a rigid system as to feel like you're in prison. That won't be sustainable - and you'll binge-spend in big style. Besides, what you don't spend each month can be thrown at the debt - so a win all round.

I'd do the 1100 & 100 as it's only 2 months later. If you then feel like a treat you won't feel guily about it and as nora said, if you don't spend the 100 you could then pay back to the debt so a win win.;)

Thanks RFTA. Where have you been anyway? I haven't seen you for days.:D

Sorry:) - going back to work next week (thank goodness) so trying to wean myself off spending hours & hours on here everyday gradually so I don't suffer withdrawal symptons :o!

Can't wait to get back to RL in RL IYKWIM - 8 weeks+ stuck in the house has been testing but it does feel weird (can't really explain it) being able to go outside again.

Well done on the amount you've cleared - £800 is a fantastic achievement in such a short time:T
    Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
    2016 Sell: £125/£250
    £1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000
    Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!

Hi Banwa, I agree with Nora and 666Paw. It's just a couple of months difference which in the scheme of things is negligible.

Well done on the reduction to date :T.

Glad you're getting back out. Try not to stay away from MSE too much, I really think the diary helps keep the focus so keep posting :)

So that's 3 out of 3 votes. From some very clever folk. Nora, you're !!!!-on, last time I tried to get debt free, I fell off the wagon in a huge way and I think it was because the budget was too restrictive.

Had a little splurge yesterday and feel better for it
£16 - new lamp for front room to replace horrible plastic ikea one
£3 on Gold spray x 2, and one phone cover. From Poundland (can't describe how excited I was to see the new Poundland had opened)
£3.58 on 2 x glass Christmas baubles and some chocolate:o

So £23 to make me feel like I have had a treat. Not bad. Anyway, am obviously going to save myself a fortune with the gold spray making beautiful homemade Christmas decorations Kirstie-stylee;)

    Good Things about today :j
    • Now have a date for the cavity wall insulation
    • Barclayloan came out today, reducing overall debt a bit more.
    • Pile of ironing has vanished - (because I ironed it, oh yes I did)
    • House is beautiful and clean, shopping is done
    • Dinner is prepared, and we are having pie and pea supper :D(HM of course)
    • Chickens reduced to £1.80 when I went to Sainsburys (so I bought 4, will feed the step children all weekend)
    • Fresh bedding on bed. (Plus I have shaved my legs. Fresh sheets + shaved legs = best feeling ever):)
    • Loads of telly I want to watch on tonight (The Jury and BB:o final)
    • AF has gone away
    • Cava is chilled and waiting for me to dive right in:beer:
    • Someone gave me flowers at work today
    • First day off tomorrow in three weeks
    • Tomorrow is my birthday*
    Bad Things about today :exclamati
    • Well there just aren't any
    Spends

    Aldi - £19.42 alcohol, £7 groceries
    Sainsbury's - £10.83 groceries. (Mostly chickens):rotfl:

*I bought my own present for myself about three month ago because I saw something I really wanted for an unbelievable price and put it in the loft for Mr Banwa to give me on my birthday (he is BAD at presents, he once gave me a walking stick for Christmas). Anyway this is a set of silver plated cutlery and I am so excited about finally being able to open it. Am wondering if I should just go the while hog and wrap it myself too
