£60 diesel, £7 coffees, £24 birthdays. Not good
Went to Scarborough to visit MIL who is having a break there, it's her birthday hence birthday spends, and we took her for coffee in a nice hotel. (she insisted she took us for dinner:)). Saw the lights being turned on, v festive.
Good Things about today :j- Lovely trip to Scarborough
- Nice dinner from MIL
- Under target for birthday money spends
- Discovered I have excel and word and mail on laptop (I have had this laptop for 7 months:rotfl:). Just assumed it wasn't installed
- Have taken print to be framed by a proper framing place. Not too dear and I think it'll look fab
- Have already blown this week's budget
- And (deep horror) - dishwasher is broken:eek:*

Men are very good at that aren't they - keeping out of the way - sorry to hear about the dishwasher, our tumble drier packed up the other week, but Mr Itsa managed to fix it, although I think dishwashers are a lot more technical inside
Its funny when (and before) this journey started, just making the minimum payments was a relief, but now I feel furious if I don't manage to make an overpayment above the minimums. It is like I have become obsessed. Most months at the moment, I am only managing to pay an extra £30.00 or so off one debt, but I suppose every little countsJust keep swimming!0 -
Quick log on to say today was a NSD, £57 to Natwest cc. V MSE behaviour of getting under a blanket instead of putting the heating up.

Mr Banwa fixed the washing machine a few weeks ago, much to my relief. Not having a washing machine sent me into some sort of crazy spin, I couldn't quite cope. :DAt least you can live without a dishwasher.
Good job really, it turns out that dishwasher engineers are a rare commodity indeed
Them little payments add up though. It feels slow but when I look at the total so far, I feel reassured, it's all going in the right direction:jDebt £26k 18/10/140 -

Hi Banwa
I know what you mean about being without a washing machine. I use ours mercilessly, so it usually dies on us within 2-4 years, the last time it happened, within 24 hours we were in T3sc0 buying one off the shelf!

Good Things about this week so far:j
- Free energy monitor has arrived. No idea how to get it to work, will need a bit more time to work it out
- Am doing some voluntary work on Sat. Was v worried it would clash with my hairdressers appointment, because she has no other spots before Christmas. :eek:But the charity let me swap my 'shift' so I can do both in one day. It was a very worrying time for a short while.
- Actually got as far as entering my card details onto the Achica website when I realised I would regret spending £37 on Christmas baubles. And stopped!:D
- Not bought food at work all week (1 can of diet coke while my friend poured her heart out does not count of course)
- Some surveys done
- Realised I really like my new job. Much better pay and, so far, much less stress. Life is good
- Pulp Fiction is on
- Mr Banwa's hours have been shorter than normal. (I am willing to [STRIKE]send him out to do as much [/STRIKE]work as much as possible)
Tues - Sainsbury's. Groceries only (including icecream, biscuits and crisps) - £49
Thu - 1 can coke 60p
Have been thinking about getting fit again. I used to be really fit, running about and stuff all the time. But lately my legs have wobbled when I walk. I am quite lazy.
My new job is a little less frantic than my old one and I think I will get a lunch hour. There are showers at work AND I wear a uniform. There is a swimming pool RIGHT next door to where I work. There really is no reason why I couldn't go for a run or a swim every lunchtime.
It seems if I put things on here, I am quite likely to do it.
So here is my commitment, in black and white, I AM going to exercise 3 lunchtimes next week. Yes, yes I am.Debt £26k 18/10/140 -

Feeling v guilty about the monitor. They were in demand and there were loads of disappointed people who didn't get one and every time I look at it, I feel a big pang. Anyway my Dad is coming around this afternoon and he knows everything so will ask him to 'show me':rotfl: what to do with it.
Anyway so what news? Did the voluntary work yesterday. We were asking people to buy an extra tin of beans or jar of coffee etc and throw it in the Fareshare trolley on the way out of Sainsbury's yesterday... I was absolutely amazed at people's responses. Some people were so generous it was touching. I asked a particularly poor looking young man with 3 urchin-like children in tow, and my heart nearly burst when the tiny little girl ran up to me on the way out to hand me a tin of heinz beanz. Some people put whole shopping bags of stuff in. But an astonishing amount of people just didn't want to know. Were just not interested. I was so surprised because I just thought it was a great idea. How easy to get a warm glow for the price of a packet of pasta. Nowt as queer as folk
What else? Managed to dodge 2 nights out. Sound like a right antisocial so and so but I really couldn't afford it.
Spends since I last posted
£31 in Sainsbury's - £10 beer, £21 groceries
£70 in the hairdressers, including eyebrow
£3.50 on giant Friday sandwich
£10 on an extortionate bottle of cava from the local shop*
Mr Banwa's work is v quiet so quite worried about Christmas and that the whole debt busting thing might have to be a lot slower than I planned, if this trend continues.
*unauthorised spend by Mr Banwa
Happy Sunday everyone:)Debt £26k 18/10/140
