Glad to hear that your sister is out of hospital. :j
I know what you mean about houses. We live on a quiet road with about 6 properties. The people across the road sold their front lawn and someone is now building a house on that. Not good when you like it quiet.

That's such good news about your sister, Banwa
, it must be such a relief.
So probably never will be debt free.:(
I'm sure that won't be the case for you, you're very focussed and organised. I'm sure you'll achieve your debt-free goal whatever happens
Keep going, one step at a time.

Hi Banwa,
So pleased to hear about your sister must be a massive reliefand a weight off your shoulders.
Re: social housing, my sister lives in a block of 7 flats and theres 3 lots of those which everyone was all NIMBY about when they were built but they don't give any trouble whatsoever and she says they're actually pretty nice insideSo if that's the type then they might be ok.

Been, Been, thanks for posting
Been avoiding posting because I had lost focus and was feeling guilty. Not going to go on, but will summarise in the usual fashion...
Will start with the negative so I can end on the positives.:D
Bad Things since I last posted:exclamati- Housing development behind my house has been approved. (Actually, I don't think it is so bad, once they are built it will probably be quite smart.)
- Mr B's work is still quiet. If this continues, not going to clear nearly as much debt this year as I would have liked.
- Got a puncture, had to replace tyre. £98 later...
- Jobs going at my company, tried to get Mr B an interview but was told no because he has no experience. Might try to appeal this because surely it is all about the potential? Is a fab company and Mr B is a fab man, the sums seem to add up to me...:D
- Have made some unnecessary spends too, some bike lights, and Mr B bought a £35 computer game, a new washing up bowl. I think we have done this because I haven't been posting so time to refocus I think...
- Even though Mr B's work is quiet, the debt is still going in the right direction.
- My job all going okay. I am wondering if I might even ask for a payrise in the summer, no harm in asking, eh?
- Have decided to stay put what with morgage rate increases. I know this is in the good section but that is because it is the sensible thing to do, and in my heart I know it's right.
- Have now built £25 per week in budget for 'other' so I don't get all disheartened every time something like a puncture happens. If we don't use it, all the better.
- Plenty of car sharing, so that's all good.
- Have decided on no holiday this summer too. Again, it's in the Good Things list because it is For The Best.
- Have bought some lottery tickets, so now I am obviously going to win.
- Sister is at home and should make a full recovery:j
Off to catch up with everyone's diaries now. Take care everyone

:hello: Hey Banwa, good to see you back
Glad you're posting, whether good or bad, but tbh, your list sounds focused and positive, even on the :exclamati things!
Are there any driving jobs MrB could get at your workplace? My DH made a similar move to the one you're suggesting for MrB, despite a varied work background. Since then he's worked his way into an office job by always being ready to have a go and help out wherever it was needed. Keep trying!
We've *decided* not to have a holiday this year too, but tbh, it remains to be seen if we'll actually stick to it. We're always drawn to the travel agent window when we're having a wander in town.
Pleased about your sister, this is the BEST news!

RFTA I'm always amazed when you post, I hope that I will keep posting in DFW when I am debt free but don't know if I am selfless enough:A
Ahhhh but I need to keep the DFW rules in place or I'll fall down again (which I've done before) .....:) I've had loads of help to get me DF so if I can in any way help anyone when they're struggling, then it's a bit of pay-back IYKWIM.she might be coming down to my hometown (where my parents and me and another sister lives) for some of her recuperation, which means I'll get to see her more. We are all very relieved and happy and thanking our lucky stars.
Ohhh that's fantastic news Banwa:jScratched some guy's car bumper in the works car park last week. Really considered listening to Small Bad Banwa and legging it, but listened to Small Good Banwa and tracked him down and confessed. So £255 later, here I am wondering if we'll ever be debt free or if my subconscious is secretly scuppering all my efforts.
:rotfl:oh, that did make me chuckle ..... well done on "doing the right thing" ...... but  at the cost
