*Not helped by me picking up expensive but yummy looking ham, then finding some cheaper, equally yummy but less pretty ham and thinking 'that'll do', and then getting home to find BOTH in my bags - grrr £10 I didn't need to spend:mad: The £98 was Not Good but the cupboards and freezer are full.
    Spends - £8.50 - toiletries and cleaning, £2.50 Christmas (cards) £87 groceries. £44 of which was meat:eek:

Ooh also, I got all the way to piling my shopping on the checkout before I realised I had left my cashcard at home. Mr Banwa had to make a 20 mile round trip to bail me out. Not happy. I am a featherbrain sometimes

So do I need a beating with the Norty stick or not?

  • So how was Mr Banwa's spends on his unsupervised night out?? :rotfl:

What is Mr Banwa's ridiculous Christmas present? (I am so nosey lol!) I love random christmas presents :rotfl:

I sorted out all my christmas presents today into sub sections (still couldn't bring myself to wrap any, but at least I can go through one bag at a time now). I am quite pleased with my presents this year, I think I may have spent slightly more than last year, but I started purchasing earlier in the year so I haven't notice any adverse affect on my bank balance.

I managed to spend £105.00 at Tescos on Friday and didnt actually purchase ANY meat as I have a freezer full. I did buy £10.00 worth of books for the book club (which I will be reimbursed for) and £6.00 on a half price box of Thorntons for Mr Itsa's christmas present.

We have the family coming over on Christmas Eve and I have offered to do a bit of a buffet so I started getting some bits for that but I still don't know what the other £75.00 was on!

Glad it's not just me. And his ridiculous present is a racing seat for him to use when he plays racing games. It is ridiculous in every way. It's expensive, it's HUGE, and he is 40:rotfl:

Just been analyising our spends. Here are my findings

We have spent £600 so far on Christmas. When we give the step children their money, that'll make it £1000 total spend for Christmas. Mr Banwa won't get a very expensive present like this again so it shoud be slightly less next year but I will still need to budget £800 or so.

We spend £49 on food per week, £8 on cat food and £7.86 on cleaning products. £13 on alcohol. We spend an astonishing £45 on fuel a week. Over the last 10 weeks we have spent an average of £21 on birthdays and £12 on haircuts per week.

And we have spent £24 per week on cr*p

Just logging in to add the spends for the last few days before I forget again

    Stocking fillers £33.40
    Christmas presents for me £55 (1 x £15 top, 1 x £8 top, 1 x £32 top)
Going out £14 (not bad for 9 hours, think I had a few bought for me)
Chips and curry sauce after above £5
    Christmas eve curry £23
    Diesel £55
    Alcohol £15.50
    Groceries £8
    Screen wash £2
    Christmas cash for nephews £50

Have had some lovely presents and the presents I have given seem to have gone down quite well.

Mr Banwa loves his stupid racing seat. I think it is safe to say I do not.

    Merry Christmas, lovely people :T:xmassign:

  • I seem to have had a good year with presents this year as well, I think I love everything I received, and everyone I bought for is very pleased with what they had (well that is what they have said to my face anyway :rotfl:)

I spent a lot on fuel in the run up to Christmas as well  I made to 70 mile trips to the same place on Wednesday but there was no way I could get out of it as I had to drop DD off back home before going out for the evening.

If anyone wants to see me in the month of January they can come to me :D

  • Banwa ... just wanted to say I hope you're having a lovely Christmas xx

My head is still mince but I really need to try to pull myself together (somehow) so I can move into the New Year positively.

I do feel like I've "abandoned" you and I'm really sorry for that - I'm way behind on your thead (and haven't written in my own diary for weeks which isn't good) and will try to catch up over the next few days .....I've been wondering how it's been going but just haven't managed to read/post as much as I should .... you know how it is.

A bit early but wishing you health, happiness & success in 2012....
    Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

    Hey, no beating yourself up!

No judgement, no timetables and deadlines around here...just lots of hot drinks, the odd bevvie, lots of choccie, and loads of hugs and general support (or 'soup' as I typed a second ago). :grouphug:

You read when you have time - or not at all if you can't be bothered, you write when you need or want to...no obligation at all...and completely within your control.

MSE diaries or not, do take a few minutes each day for yourself though - you're truly worth it (which we all know - so even if you don't feel like it right now, you can trust our collective and clearly brilliant opinion! ;)).

    Big hugs.

I know I know, I LOVE Christmas but have spent a lot of time wishing it was over so I can get on with the debt busting. Glad you had a good one :D

Oh RFTA please don't worry about reading or posting in people's dairies (anyway mine has been so dull lately I am kind of glad you didn't:o) I noticed you were posting in Debt Free Wanabee yesterday so I was fully reassured and gladdened that you were around, and still on the straight and narrow. In fact, I had been over to your diary about an hour before you posted this last night, I was tempted to post but I wasn't sure if you were ready to face it yet, one of the last things you posted about was your dog.:(

I am always amazed you are still posting, what with your debt free status and all, I think you are truly lovely to keep coming and giving everyone the benifit of your experience.

    Here's to 2012
