I tried coca-cola (my OH got a litre free with a takeaway, he can't turn down anything free even though we don't drink cola!). It was frankly awful -- made no difference at all, in fact I felt it made the limescale look even worse.

Don't they rec using Sterident denture tablets for cleaning limescale off toilets, I am sure I read that a few years ago.

don't think much of stardrops, spent ages trying to source it and was dissapointed. In my opinion it's Hype.
  • I'm definitely a raver when it comes to Stardrops, but just wanted to add a warning...I dabbed some neat onto some stained pillowcases the other day, threw them in the wash (30 degrees) and they came out still stained but with a bleach mark where the stardrops had been!! Really disappointed as I've never had that problem before, but just wanted to warn others.

I find VIM toilet cleaner great for removing limescale. Don't buy any other type now.
    Got mine from Wilkinsons.

Edit : Seems Wilkinsons no longer stocking this(Vim) along with a lot of other cleaning products. They did not have Stardrops (not sure if they used to).

Will have to have a look for some of this.

Used soap liquid before is it similar to that?

Just bought my very first bottle in Tesco today -58p. So far the grimey depth of the oven have been done plus the hob top and they came up great with minimal effort. The rug in the kitchen had a few dirty marks on it - not no more!

Will give it a go doing a wash next!
My oven is supposedly "self-clean"...I wish.... can I use stardrops to clean the walls & floor? If so neat or diluted?

Possibly not. Have a look here, it gives advice about self-cleaning and continuous cleaning ovens.

Also, your instruction manual which came with your oven should tell you what to do.
