For anyone living in Scotland, then your local Semi-Chem sells Stardrops. I was down in Glasgow recently and bought a bottle in the Clydebank Semi-chem for 78p (I think?)0

Like many others I've never heard of this either, but it souns fab! I've just got the keys for a new flat but it is very dirty, sounds like this will do the trick. Can't wait to go shopping tomorrow to find it!! Is it good for toilets? I've put 2 bottles of bleach so far down the loo but it still looks very grubby!0

Well don't just squirt some down the loo or you'll have bubbles every time you flush for weeks :rotfl:
Is it limescale in your loo (are you in a hardwater area?) and you maybe need the toilet cleaner suitable for that?
Are you giving the loo a scrub with a brush as well rather than just using the bleach, and are you leaving it on for a while?
It might be time to don the rubber gloves, get a nylon scourer pad, get your hand in and scrub away! Don't forget to get right under the rim too as it can get black and slimey under there.0 -

Is the toilet encrusted with scale? Best thing I have found to get rid of scale is Lime Light. I put the brush in the pan and kind of pump up and down to force as much water as I can over the u-bend. (You want to end up with as little water in the pan as you can) Then I pour in the lime light...you don't need too much as its cracking stuff.
Leave for about 10 mins and give the pan a scrub with the brush. Comes up really well. Lime Light is brilliant too as you can see it working on the scale, it kind of fizzes up.
Or for general grubbiness I use harpic tablets. Drop one in the pan and leave overnight then give a good scrub in the morning.
Also apparently cola in the toilet overnight is good for getting a sparkling pan but I have never tried it myself.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Wow that was a quick response! Thanks for your suggestions - I did leave the bleach down the loo and gave it a scrub with the brush, it did make a difference but not much! I'll definately try the lime light - I definately have a lot of scrubbing to do!!
Thanks again!0 -

You're very welcome!
If you get out as much water as possible so that the lime light is in contact with the scale you should get a good result.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
I have just spent all morning reading this thread as I have just got my first bottle of Stardrops. I washed a sheepskin with it, as rug as 'pup' had an accident on it and it has come out really nice. Thanks to everyone for all the tips and uses. I have made notes and I'm gonna have a cleaning spree today!0
