I get TOIL too, but I'm now about 20 hours of overtime up and trying to take it back.
Good luck to all of you lucky things who get paid for it!

I did 4 hrs in my 2nd job tonight... luckily, it never feels like work and just a bit of a social!

I'm on holiday this week but I've decided to have a word with my manager when I go back about doing some o/t.
At the moment I go to college 30 hours a week, and work 12 hours. So my week is spread out over 6 days (i get sundays off). I can work an extra 2 hours on my friday shift and an extra 2.5 on a saturday. Worst comes to worst I could always take up a wedensday night shift (3 hours) which would be good.
I always aim to work full time in my college holidays, but unfortunally so do most the students I work with - so I don't always get it

Well done you robert!
I can't work out what I get paid in 'overtime' as it is made up of lots of different rates and extras such as on-calls, sleep ins and unsocial hours. But I do keep a careful eye on the hours total cos I know exactly what I have worked and if that doesn't tally then I speak to payroll.
I am doing an extra 8 hours today at work, thought it was going to be toil but after doing my time sheet I am in mega credit and my boss has agreed to pay me for today... wooo hoo!! Better get my skates on... off to do some travel training on the buses and 'being independent in town'Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Doing a regular 100 hours O/T per month & have been since LBM in 2000. Another couple of years to go & hopefully, it'll all be over. That will be my biggest pleasure when debt free, just to work a normal 37 1/2 week, apart of course from the holidays, motorbike, new car, eating out, drinking etc!!!Donedoingdebt Lightbulb moment January 2000.
