On the job front I need to be in something somewhere...anywhere, so long as I'm in a position where the remuneration is commensurate with output / responsibilities / ability rather than a barely above minimum wage for work which other companies pay nearly £30,000 but are too far away for it to be a pay raise in real terms.

Anyone care to suggest any professions worth looking at? I'm honest to god willing to do just about anything, not much out there on lower money than I'm currently on.

Good luck with that Cinny, she won't relax...pretty much ever.

    Control your woman, boy!

When my Mum got her new(old) car she was quoted about £100 for a garage to do key marks, in the end she found she could get a pen that matches the colour exactly for £6.49 or something from Halfords. Are they really deep scratches? Because you can get filler kits, my Brother uses them. I'd just give it a go myself and then call out a man if it goes wrong. You can get people who do fixes at your home for about £50, that's what my Brother paid once for getting his panel buffed out when he decided to make friends with a curb.

I say become scrap people! I'm not even kidding, we do work for a scrap family in and they have all new cars, swimming pools, lovely houses. It's crazy!

Dinah if I were you I'd start focusing on toning up more than weight loss, try yoga or something - relaxing and it gives you a crazy body! I know you've had problems in the past, and I know for me it's a lot better way to go about it.

Good news about being in line for the promotion though, fingers crossed!

Finally bought myself a proper, actual winter jacket. Used the codes that are flying about to get it for £14.99 instead of £29.99 too :j

ETA: Forgot to say, I'm walking Percy today so I'm very excited! Just need to fill the time until I set off for him at 12:30. Gah!

Another early start for me to build up some hours, have a nice long weekend tomorrow and Monday though so will try my very best to relax.

Feeling a bit jittery today as I've asked NIM to take over on the business for a fortnight while we see whats happening with my bp - I have no doubt he'll be good with it, it's more that he doesn't know how we got to this stage. Although maybe thats a good thing and he'll get things moving better than I have, and ask the questions I haven't remembered/dared!

Aye hoping to start Yoga after Christmas Cinny (although I won't be doing so until the snow is gone as it's not worth a 7 mile drive in bad conditions) although may get myself a dvd to do at home before then. Always used to do pilates as yoga is quite hard to find around here, but I think I need the relaxation aspect too atm.

Yoga will do wonders for you Dinah, whenever I've been to a class I've fallen asleep in the relaxation bit at the end! :o

I'm sure the business will be just fine with NIM at the helm for a couple of weeks, sometimes things need a new pair of eyes to see things that may have been overlooked so it could be a very good thing! :)

Have you seen today's Groupon deal girls? Animal hats! :D

Tink I'm 5'6 (and a half!)... I don't *think* I look as heavy as I am; I've always been fairly sturdily built and could never be 120lbs, even when I was at my smallest I was 130lbs+.

Cinny makes a good point about the car, surely trying it at home isn't going to make the repair job any more expensive if it doesn't work? No doubt there's a tutorial out there in internet land. :)

NIM, have you got a Connexions place near you? I remember going there after college and getting career advice, maybe they'll be able to give you some ideas of what kind of jobs to apply for and what training is needed (if any). I don't think it's just for young folk, I've seen oldies going in plenty of times.

Cinny's also right about the scrap, one of the richest people in my town is the scrap man! I was really confused when I first moved here as I was looking for the tip and could only find the scrap yard and got realy cross that I'd moved somewhere with a private scrapyard rather than a council run tip! Turns out it was down the next turning! :o SIL's Mum (farmer) is always selling scrap metal for extra cash, old gates and such. She's paid for her wedding outfit with scrap money! :) Where can I find me some old gates...? ;)

    Morning all,

I agree with the others , Dinah you need to relax! I know it is hard for you but very important for your health. Glad you have a long weekend , that will help although make sure you are not doing stuff the whole time! That is good you had money left from your wages this month!

Tink - I am about 5 ft 6, at my lowest as an adult i was under 9 stone but i would like to be 9 and a half ideally now.

Cinny - love the jacket, is really nice. Is it an ha nd m number?

    It's my birthday today yay!

I didnt even know these people existed so not a clue. Might look into them when I find like 3 minutes.

happybirthday.gif Have a lovely day, Wendz!

And yes, it's H&M. Got myself this dress too. £5.99!

I forgot to say Tink, I'm something like 5ft4.8" (I got OH's Stepdad to measure me!) but class myself as 5ft5! I'm like, 2lb off of a healthy weight. I did have my goal weight at 135 but as I get closer I think I just want to lose another 12lb. I still want a bit of meat on my bones!

Second this! Plus you'll both be on the same page with it so might come up with better ideas when you talk things over.

We sell scrap, our pickup is stuffed ready to go atm when someone finds time. I'd take it, but my family think they'd try and undersell me so I'm not allowed. I don't get why, the guy we sell to is very sweet and a family friend.

Happy Birthday Wendz, hope you have a great day.

That's actually reassuring you got through to the printer and have agreed next steps, I feel a lot more relaxed now than I have in a few days. I actually think you'll be better at driving this forward than me - as we always joke I'm all about the ideas but then I want someone else to actually carry it out while I go off and have the next great idea!

Why does Google Chrome search bar go to Bing? It's driving me mad as I hate their search results.

I think Connexions is only for young people, and NIM is too old now maybe? At any rate I'm not sure if its closing or has actually closed. When I was in Newcastle the library did careers advice too but doubt our local one does.
