Oooh that sounds nice Wendz, bet their Christmas shop is all kinds of fabulous! I loved the Christmas section in Fortnum and Mason, wonder how much it would cost to have a tree full of just F&M ornaments?!

I'm going hat shopping with my Mum on Saturday, very excited! I know we're looking for her but there's nothing to stop me trying them on too, right?! ;)

My brother's wedding :) We're going to a place that rents them out so they're proper OTT fancy expensive ones for a decent price. She's completely blown the budget on her outfit so I think she's trying to make herself feel better by saving a little on the hat. I'm going to do some 'research' for our friend's wedding in August! ;)

  • Morning everyone - lots of chat overnight, I don't think it will have picked up all the quotes I want to use  I'll make my own :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WENDZ! Have a lovely day and enjoy your scrummy looking cake (the one on FB and that one Cinny gave you!)
Birdie What?! HOW haven't you seen one of the greatest Disney movies ever?! One of my top 5, it's wonderful! Buy it, watch it, report back! :) For the other one get Tangled, I love that movie! I was sooooo excited to meet Rapunzel at Disney World :D

Thanks for the advice - I'm going for the Aristocats for nephew in the end so at least it is sort of Xmas shopping *the guilts! the guilts!*
Tink I also am wondering how tall you girlies are? because on the photos I've seen, none of you look big but I feel huge and I weigh about 123lbs and I'm average height I would say!

I am 5'11", currently 147lbs (10st7) and a size 12. I can't be under about 10 stone without actually starving myself, but I start to feel bloated and sluggish around 10st10.

On an unrelated note got quotes for fixing the key marks in the car door, £250 plus. Apparently as its silver they need to blend it to both of the connected pannels. Anyone know anything about this kinda thing?

No advice other than - is this an essential expense at the moment? It's a LOT of money that could be better used elsewhere as far as I can see, though I'm sure you have some reason behind it - rust getting in or something? Hopefully the other suggestions will work for you.

Anyone care to suggest any professions worth looking at? I'm honest to god willing to do just about anything, not much out there on lower money than I'm currently on.

Gosh and for me! I feel like I have so much potential if only I could decide what I wanted to do! I'm sure there's a Connexions place nearby but can't immediately find anything on Google. Might go along myself! Argh, as Dinah says maybe they've closed and that's why nothing's coming up? Feel like the ConDems have it in for me personally at the moment :(

Have you seen today's Groupon deal girls? Animal hats! :D

Fu Fu Fashion? Doesn't sound like headwear to me!

Also I've said it before - I hate yoga! Pilates all the way! Yoga makes me feel fuggy headed and dizzy and like I might faint afterwards and I can't stand all the chakra b0ll0cks :o

    I think I need chakra b0llocks atm :D

Aye we're concerned that all the salt once the roads are gritted will make it rust as it's through the paint to the metal. Thinking a paint stick may be in order for the time being.

I'd love to know what I want to do too.Well, thats a lie, I want to cook, but I don't want to be a chef as I don't like the hours and I think it might loose some of its sparkle. I keep coming back to my own little catering company.

That's the thing! All the things I enjoy - like sewing etc - are really low paid. But investment banking? I think I'd want to kill myself after half an hour!

Also meant to say nice bargain on the clothes Cinny! I went with this coat in the end, the colour has only just appeared I think so I'm glad I didn't get the bright red now :)

Agreed, yoga IMO isn't that great for proper toning, if you're expecting it to work wonders it doesn't unless you do the really advanced stuff and push yourself but it's lovely if you go with the aim to channel your chakra and relax! ;)

The Connexions in my old town is still open (fairly sure anyway), pop to Betty's and go for career advice afterwards! :p I definitely think you're stuck in the wrong job Tete, you're so accomplished, surely there's more out there for you?!

Catering sounds great, or a cafe, my friend's cafe is only open from 9-5 (ish) so it's not stupid hours like in a restaurant, I think she does a couple of early starts a week for prep and stays late a couple of nights for baking (she makes enormous pork pies that take about 3 hours to cook!)

Not exactly the best looking solution for the scratches, but a bit of duct tape might protect them whilst the grit is about? £2.50 for a roll of silver duct tape vs £250 for a proper paint job!

I was a little concerned about the name FuFu fashion too Tete! Was scared to click on the link! :rotfl:

ETA: I like the coat Tete! I'm thinking a nice purple duffel coat this winter for me :) Can't see Cinny's clothes as can't get onto Tumblr! :(

It's back to that money-happiness balance thing over and over again, what makes you happier, a dreary but well paid day job that lets you go on lots of holidays and enjoy your off time, or being happy all the time with a less well paid but enjoyable day job but not getting the new clothes and holidays etc.

Anecdotally I can tell you your sewing skills could make big money on ebay with costumes, corsets and specialist cross-dressing femme clothing in male measurements..... if any of these floats your boat!

Totally agree! If I had your skills I would have disappeared off to Barcelona long ago ;)

More DIY this morning. I'm nearly finished though, just primed the window and shelves. Gloss coat can go on later hopefully. Just one mammoth clean and then onto some cooking and crafty stuff. Can't wait :D Oh yeah and erm.. studies too :rotfl:

Happy Birthday Wendz :j :j :j Hope you have a lovely day.
