  • Uh-oh! How long have you got to find the shoes? If I were the bride I'd have bought all the shoes at once so at least I know everyone will have the same, then ask for the money, but maybe I'm a control freak :o I had to pay £65 for my bridesmaid shoes! Want to put them on eBay but as the wedding's the 21st Dec I'll miss the party season. Might list them to finish on the 21st then they can be sent out in time for NY? They're these and I don't like them at all - won't be able to walk in them or anything!

I think if you've made enough vodka for 4 presents then it counts, especially as you've done 10 cards ;) Well done on the weight loss too - all in the right direction! What weight are you aiming for?

Wow you're a very good bridesmaid to fork out that much for shoes you don't even like (although I think they're quite nice, but will be very painful to wear!) I'm far too mean :o What gets me is that she has paid for the other bridesmaid's shoes, but why pay for one and not the others? Especially if she's going to be picky about what we can and cannot wear! I might just get some gold ballet pumps since I can't actually walk in kitten heels anyway, feel like I'm always falling backwards because they're too low! Wedding is 1st December so I've still got a month, but I've got a lot on so not much time to be trawling the shops for shoes!

I'm aiming to get to under 140lbs ideally but I've been hovering in the 150s for so long I've no idea if I'll manage it! :o

Thanks ladies - I got up on the right side of the bed this morning :D Yesterday was pants, so today must be better.

I have made some progress on my goals, think I was slightly over-optimistic for October. I think this will be November and December's challenges as well!

    - Make sausages!! - bought the cases at least, just have to order the meat and I am ready!!
    - Take lunches to the library
    - Cycle to the library a few times a week - nope, but did clean the bike
    - Finish kitchen spring cleaning - almost finished, this one task ballooned to include -
Clearing out and washing every single cupboard and drawer in the kitchen
    Sanding and painting the radiator
Sanding and painting the boiler house door with blackboard paint (it looks awesome)
Sanding and glossing the small window
    Glossing the shelves
Steam cleaning the cupboards - not yet done
Polishing the kitchen handles - not yet done
Put beading around the edges of the wood floor - not yet done

    - Plant rocket salad leaves - bought the compost
    - Tackle the junk cupboard (wash duvets, buy vac pac storage boxes) - bought the vac pacs
    - Ebay the junk in the junk cupboard (or at least some of it)
    - Make pencil case (am a very inexperienced seamstress!)
    - Make own bread again - made pizza dough a few times - does that count? :rotfl:
    - Visit financial advisor - booked for Friday!
    - Make at least another £20 vouchers for Christmas
    - Complete at least 1 of sig savings goals
    - Reduce food shopping costs (build storecupboard, possibly veg. box)

At least the kitchen will be sparkling before November kicks in. It has been nice to do those little niggly things that have been annoying me for so long. DIY takes so much longer than you expect though.

Hey Birdie - maybe some shoes like - these, these or these? It says on the website that there is also another 20% off at the till? But I didn't fully investigate!

Tete - you are nice to buy your shoes at that price, eek!

If you've been that weight before you know it's possible - maybe you could use the wedding as a milestone goal? I'm 1lb off my happy weight range of 142-146lbs but would like to get to about 144 in time for a birthday party on 19th and stay there for the wedding... I'm feeling very motivated about all areas of life at the moment though, seem to have managed to break out of the dark-night-inertia that's been plaguing me lately :)

I am good aren't I? I'm just laidback I guess and go with the flow. I love my cousin very much and she's in a wheelchair and hasn't had a lot of luck with men so I'm just so happy for her that she's found someone that I don't want to spoil it in any way. Not like one of the other BMs who went and got pregnant! Cardinal sin or what?!

ETA - cross posted Lara, glad to see you're cheerier today! Wow your kitchen must be sparkling! Sounds as thought you've put in a lot of the groundwork for most things too :) Tell me, are the sausage casings like condoms?

Are these any good birdie? I actually had those as the back up pair at my wedding, Next do still have a few pairs in the £30-£35 range, but they're a bit meh. Looked at New Look too but nothing there.
How are the eBay sales looking dinah?

About £40 last night, many more things ending tonight though, currently standing at just under £100 for tonight.
How are you feeling Dinah, you've been quiet?

I'm okay thanks, a bit freaked out about the blood pressure thing to be honest, I'm trying to relax a bit more, but it's all a bit self defeating that I'm worried about my blood pressure so it goes up more and I then worry more.

Uni day today, would rather have a nap day though, I'm shattered.

Payday too for me, NIMs isn't for a few more days. Paid off just over £400 today from my wages, should get a similar amount when NIMs wages come in. This is partly due to increasing the overdraft as its a lower APR than the CC, but we'll have paid off at least £600 just from wages.

This month we're trying to live out the freezer, so only allocating £50 for food for the whole month.

Also did a quote for car insurance as it's due in about a month, and amazingly it looks like it will be pretty much half of what we paid this year (assuming we pay it in one lot). So that's an extra pressure (as well as an MOT, and new tyre needed) for this month in order to meet our £104 a day target. Planning to get new glasses too... this month could be a hard one!

That's a good amount paid off Dinah, hurrah! Have you ever tried meditation/self-hypnosis as a way of relaxing? I've been trying it a little bit lately to help me get to sleep and it does work a bit (not sure if you're supposed to hypnotise yourself to actual sleep mind!)

Hi Flower, glad all is well - do we have a pic of Baby Noah? :)

PS just had an email from play.com to say that Disney DVDs and BRs are BOGOF til Sunday in case anyone's interested? I might get a Christmas present for my little 'nephew' and a present for me... :o

Nice to see you Flower! Glad Noah's doing well! :D

Thanks for the linkies Lara and Dinah, I like the last ones you linked to Lara and the ones you linked Dinah but I think they're both too high :( I could always just buy them anyway and be all shocked on the day that I'm taller than the other bridesmaids! ;)

When I was bridesmaid back in June my friend told all of us that if we were any more than 3 months pregnant we would be de-bridesmaided!

I downloaded a few apps on it last night but haven't listened to them yet. Will try to this afternoon if I get home early enough. My healthcare plan also cover me for £150 of alternative therapy such as reflexology in a year, so might give that a try too.

Saved £47 this morning making a phone call I'd usually put off to hmrc.

Glad noah is being a good boy x
