Good news about paying off the card, will make things less stressful when there is less debt to pay off.

Arghhh about the food, that must be gutting :(.

I agree with Wendz, good news about the debt clearing but that's rubbish on an epic scale about the freezer.

Not in the mood to be at work today. Trying to eek out my workload because I feel rubbish. Tingling in my legs is worse than ever today and it's driving me mad. Keep doing stretches under the desk but to no avail. Head feels fuzzy as well. Only another 3 hours till I can go home :(

NIM has pointed out as the food is still fridge temp we can cook the meat and refreeze it once cooked.... if we can get the freezer working again. Have brought in a duck, side of salmon and a chicken. If we can't freeze them we'll at least eat brilliantly for a few days. Will try my mum, see if she has freezer space if we can't get ours working.

Rubbish about the freezer Dinah :(

Can you claim for that on the insurance? Seem to think that some home insurance covers freezer contents for power cuts etc?

Hi Dinah. Might the freezer be covered under your home insurance. Need to consider effect on future quotes though. Also have you thought about a Nanny for Grace. Maybe part time. We had one for years and now 20 years later she is still part of our lives. Financially it could work out ok and you could both (parents) apply for childcare vouchers.

As the only person here who'll get that I'll reply in kind DAYUM!!!...or are you too young to remember that?

I couldn't well call myself a WWE fan if I didn't know who Ron Simmons was :) He's still on it, you know!

I'm curious as to what your mum meant re going to her dad?

Not really my place to say on a public forum, I'll PM you.

And you never know, she may cop on and genuinely apologise and seek to make it up to you. If she does, and there is a way to do so, let her. You don't need to carry the rage the rest of your life. If she can't then you need to tell her that shes burned too many bridges with you but that for the sake of family peace you'll put the hatchet back in the woodshed at family gatherings.

Of course! And honestly, if this weekend hadn't happened and she came to me wanting to make amends I would have let her. Thing that's upset me the most is I was quite happily over it, I didn't see her or have anything to do with her. With all the stress it's thrown up, maybe I wasn't as over it as I thought, but it's just reminded me what a nasty piece of work she is, and I now I know that the bridge could never be re-built. Not unless she changes, which I'm 100% sure isn't going to happen. But I always said that I'd be civil to her at family gatherings. And still maintain it.

If she apologises in a fake way tell her to take the apology, shine it up REAL nice, turn it sideways and ... well you know the rest.

Honestly, I wish I could go into everything as I know sometimes I must just come off a little bitter, or over dramatic. Sorry to be thread hogging, Dinah!

Horrible about your freezer :( Hope you can get some other freezer space sorted, I'd be gutted too!

Hope the next 2.5hours go quickly for you Ruby, I hate getting that feeling at work!

Had some good news though. Been offered a new job, finally! :) 10 hours a week to start, looking to build me up to 20. Super flexible around my current hours and they're even really understanding over me needing to be able to exercise Ryder enough. Will be a full timer though  That's a whole new grown up world right there!

ARGH! We're one sodding day outside the warranty. Beko have said they might repair it as a gesture of goodwill, but NIM needs to check the fuse first. And if it isn't the fuse replace the window next to the freezer really very quickly so the engineer can come out.

Congratulations on the job Cinny! Sounds like a good company if they're willing to be flexible.
