I wish I could but work has blocked the site! I'll try at lunch time but will probably be sold out by then. :( Cheaper for me to ask Mum to get me stuff with her discount and forget to pay her back anyway! :rotfl:

although I doubt we'll ever have the recommended 3 month's wages saved up- too tempting to spend it on a holiday! :rotfl:

Haha! True! I'd rather have enough in savings as not to worry and then just use the rest of our money to have fun then have the crazy amount of 3 months saved up that chances are you'd never touch and live like a hermit for ages getting it all filled. No thank you, life's far too short!

Speaking of holidays, it's "only" 208 days until we go away :j I will get myself all skinny minnie then whack it back on in too many cocktails and too much good Greek food.

ETA: Speaking of cocktails I had one at TGI Friday the other week. I let OH pick and it had to be something meaningful in the name. I didn't mind what was in it and he got me 'English Garden' What?! There was Long Island Iced Tea on there, a Woo Woo Woo and Green eyes. So many funny choices and he failed me.

Can you DIY your eyebrows? I pluck & tint mine, not as good as going somewhere but it'll do. Can't tint my eyelashes though, that's impossible!

I don't know anything about mortgages but it seems quite high when I know you had a good deposit, is it fixed?

I'm a real wuss, I can't stand how much it hurts to pluck them hence the waxing. I don't tint them though as my hair is my natural colour.

It is fixed aye, 5.9%. If we were on a variable we'd be paying around £160 a month less, but I didn't feel comfortable not knowing if the rate could rise.

Was the 'English Garden' at least nice Cinny?! When we were away we had cocktails in Planet Hollywood (had a voucher, still being MSE on holibobs!), I had a 'Pineapple Express' and OH had 'Gorillas in the Mist' :D

Plucking gets a lot easier the more you do it, maybe you should brave it, after a shower, maybe ice the area first?! I can only do it with my super sharp and pointy tweezers though, so painful with crummy blunt ones!

    Hi Dinah

I'm not a fan of the 'slash n burn' SOA, as I think having treats is important - well maybe I am just making excuses for myself anyways!! It's great your shopping is so low now, OH and I are averaging £70 per week at the supermarket lately. And we cook everything from scratch. I think we just like eating expensive food :o:( I have done loads of research to get it down and started a storecupboard so we can buy the brands we like when they're on offer. Also I found this guy who runs an electrical shop whose family own an olive grove in Turkey. He sells single estate olive oil and electrical components in the same little shop in central London. Plus the homemade sausage revolution is about to start :D

Someone on another thread mentioned Giff Gaff as a super cheap mobile option? Or is there a Talk Talk or virgin bundle where you get internet, home phone and mobiles together? I'm never allowed to do that as OH uses the internet to upload things for work and so insists on having this one company. So we end up paying the whole whack with BT. Does your health plan definitely make you a profit? Your water rates are high, we switched to a meter and just about halved our bills. I think that can be a bit risky though, although you can choose to opt out within 12 months if you find your old bill is cheaper - however then the next person who buys your house is automatically enrolled to metering. In the SE we are always short of water so I think it's only a matter of some time before everyone will be metered.

Anyway imho your SOA is cool and you just need to not go on any more holidays before DFD, and then go on a super massive blowout one :) Would love to see pictures of your house too, sounds lovely.

Ditto the request to see house pictures! :)

Think Lara's hit the nail on the head there about the SOA and just not going on any more holidays! :)

It was really nice, I just wanted a woo woo! I don't think cocktails names will ever get old. I still wiggle my eyebrows when I see 'Sex on the Beach' on the menu.

Lara speaks (or types!) sense. And I third house pictures. Pretty pretty pretty please! With a cherry on top.

Don't think I can add anything other than what has already been said. I agree you are doing well on the groceries, we spend between 50 and 70 and then i end up getting top ups during the week.

Dinah - I signed up to the boots things through your link, saw it on the email yesterday and will come in useful for christmas pressies.

Birdie - that is great about the new pay packet , i think you should treat yourself a bit!

It is Poppys half birthday today! She is 6 months, don't know where that time has gone.
