we were really lucky. We bought a 4 bedroom house last year and although we are in debt (bought before having the full deposit amount and dodgy DIY by the previous occupants) we could manage to live here comfortably if we didn't have the debts. We do work hard though to pay for it.

  • Grr just lost my whole post, stupid phone!

Cinny, or anyone techy, I need to make a 2 min video to apply for some travel funding. I have a smartphone, will that be enough? Worried it will be really shakey, maybe I could find a program to break up clips with pics or somthing. I'm pretty clueless!

Hope the isa transfers soon greenie, and yes that nickname will stick!

    Happy payday birdie, enjoy dancing!

Is the camera in your smartphone an HD one? If it's a good camera it should be OK, any hand-held camera will be shaky so you'll just have to practice being not-shaky...or use a tripod! ;) No idea about editing it, I am yet to venture into that world! :p

Does anyone know of any Dorothy Perkins voucher codes floating about? Seen a couple of bits in the sale that I fancy for work but I'm always looking for more money off! :)

It isn't the lakeland one but similar i think! Love that NIM does the oven cleaning.

Greenie - sounds like a good plan to use the ISA, it feels horrible using savings but will help in the long run.

I agree it is hard for young families, can't even imagine us being able to afford to buy in the next few years. Have been worrying about money and how we will cope next year but i keep thinking we are better off than a lot of families and will just have to budget more especially on stuff like food.

Yay for payday Birdie , enjoy Just Dance 3! I asked OH if i could have it for my birthday and he said i'd only do it once ...rude!

That is rude Wendz! I loved Just Dance 1 on my Wii and played it a lot, I've been in mourning for it ever since we sold it so I'm super happy it's out for the Kinect now! :D Going to get the girls round next weekend when OH is away and we can have a dance-off! :p

Anyway use this reasoning on him- birthday meal out = £30+, Just Dance 3 = £20... the game will last longer than the meal and if you do only play it once you can sell it on and make some money back, can't do that with a meal out! ;)

:rotfl:Very good reasoning, have you used that before?

Just managed to save £50 on our breakdown cover renewal yay. :money:

OH has been paid and got a load of OT money so we have put some by for the car insurance which is one less worry.

Dinah, was just reading this thread about Driving License Renewal and the perils of the Post Office renewal service... if you're worried about having a bad photo don't do it! :rotfl:

I'm really allergic to oven cleaner, always end up with a massive asthma attack, so it's testament that he quite likes me really :D

Afraid I can't help you on the phone Tete, my old Nokia wouldn't post no matter what I did, but the android just does it no hassle (although I do struggle to hit the right buttons!) so my technological genius was to get a new phone.

  • Eek Birdie, had a quick look at that thread - in America you have to put your weight on your licence!

Can't work out replying on the phone - normally you tap any 'box' where text can be entered and the keyboard pops up but not on this site. Come on Martin, sort out a mobile compatible version! (please).

Second lot of beetroot soup for me today, I made sure I was wearing black
