Isn't the head of a 2 year old 80% of its full size or something? Brains don't grow much I guess!
And your eyeballs are adult sized when you're born so I guess if your head grew tooooo much they'd fall out.Problem with a sophisticated coat it that you need to wear sophisticated clothes with it Tete, I've got a lovely Coast coat that's very posh but looks awful if I wear casual clothes with it so it looks rubbish most of the time as my looks just don't 'go'!
Hmmmm, convincing me with the coat! I can see your logic Cinny, I haven't actually worn a jacket of any kind since about March, since I drive pretty much everywhere I just put on a cardie and scarf because I never have far to walk, but I need something for the winter, I really feel the cold.
Do not encourage me to buy the silly hat though please!
Speaking of cold, hope you got in OK NIM - eeps!
Off to bed now to watch Biutiful - not a film one 'enjoys as such' apparently :undecidedWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Hmm, been meaning to watch that for a while Tete. I had no idea your eyeballs were adult sized when you're born. Eeeek!!
Went to Westfield today to get my sister a pressie. There are nice shops in there, especially Forever 21 which I think is a New York chain new to the UK. I think it's like H&M but even nicer and perhaps even a little bit cheaper. Where's the catch?? LOL. Anyway I managed to pick my sister a necklace that scanned 75% off at the till, and I got 20% student discount on the earrings I bought for her. The whole pressie with gift wrap came to £8 instead of £20 - sweeeeet.
I haven't got a Winter coat either. My sophisticated coat's from Matalan :rotfl: I wish Gok would come and re-style me - I'm a mess:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -

I'm sure you've said before something about a syndicate or something but £9 on the lottery every month?!
Also i think I've forgotton this too but how do you spend £300 on fuel every month when NIM cycles to work!? I know you have a 4x4 but ouch! I thought him cycling would make it much cheaper? (hope you got home ok the other day NIM! Maybe you should carry a puncture repair kit?)
Also when does your driving licence expire because that's been on your list for a while and you don't want to get caught with an expired licence!!
I hope you get a good few things crossed off this morning, an extra few hours sounds very nice!! What props are you getting for the photoshoot? it is a business one?
Welcome to the thread GreenSaints too! Don't feel like you have to read everything because we tend to waffle a lot!
Wendz - Poppy is absolutely gorgeous! I dont think I'd seen a picture since she was a baby baby (I know she's still a baby but you know what I mean..) I love the coat too it looks so fluffy and snug! I hope that you wont have to increase the DD for your gas bill tooo much! I'm hoping our flat keeps heat in super well because it's been pretty warm so far and we've had to have windows open etc, I just hope it stays like that though!!
Lara good shout on the birthday presents! I love it when that happens because technically they have got more present than they would maybe have if you hadn't got them on sale! I like westfield but its mental when it's busy isnt it!! I've been to forever 21 in the USA and I'm glad it's come over here because it seems much better quality than primark but it's still pretty cheap yey!!
Anyway I had better go or I'll be late for work eeek!!0 -
Hi GreenSaints, I'm sure your OH will get there eventually. I know that I don't like to say too much about what I owe to OH because I don't want him to be disappointed in me.
Thank you for introducing me to Forever 21 Lara, I shall be spending my morning having a look at the website! I would have discovered that in the Florida Mall if OH wasn't completely useless at shopping and dragged me past every clothes shop!
Completely random/uneducated suggestion here Dinah, but have you considered using the fancy schmancy premium petrol? OH's Dad was being really geeky the other day and had filled his tank with it and worked out that he'd got quite a bit more MPG out of it so it did work out cheaper in the long run even though initially it costs more. Of course, if your car is a diesel, ignore me!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Gas..................................... 35 By the point but I'd start putting a little more than this to one side after your monthly payment so you're no so screwed when you have your winter gas use to pay back.
Internet Services....................... 18 Are you tied in to a contract? I'm sure you'd be able to switch this to something cheaper with cash back.
Groceries etc. ......................... 100 Really? Really?
Lottery................................. 9 I'd quit this too. You wouldn't just drop £9 in the gutter on the way home would you?
All I can really pick up on!
I'd also start trying your best to put some money into an emergency fund. You might look at it as 'Oh, that could be money off the debt.' but if something happens to your car, you somehow fall short for something one month or something straight up unexpected happens it'd be good to have somewhere to pull from. Just as like, a back up plan.
And sorry to be a party pooper on the lottery. Not a fan is an understatement. I only ever have tickets when Nannan buys them for me at Birthdays and Christmas.
My coat's from Matalan too Lara! Was like £15 in the spring sale. But I love it, it's a knee length dark grey one, clinches in at the waist then out to a full skirt. Plus it has a just off black leopard print over the grey too. ooooh, it's so pretty! Even if I do say so myself
Gonna go get my hair did this afternoon. Finally. All nice and short again!
And hello GreenSaints! It took a lot of waiting for my OH to have his light bulb moment so I'm sure your Mr will get there too. It's just a pain waiting and being the only one really working toward anything!0 -

You have a lot of questions missy! Both in the lottery at work, both feel a bit like if we came out and they won a decent amount we'd be kicking ourself for being the only ones in the office!
It was up to £450, we've managed to get it down to £300Doing a minimum 44 miles a day, sometimes 60 miles if NIM isn't cycling, plus usually another 100 miles a week or so of personal and mystery shopping miles...our poor car will have done around 22,000 miles on the one year since we got her. If we swapped the car for something more economical we could probably save £50 a month and another £20 on the insurance, but I could easily loose that each day I can't get to work in the snow (although this does happen less now we're not in the country). I think the biggest consideration is that I can do my job in it safely without worrying, and we can't get the work loan again at 3.2% so we'd be car-less or getting a commercial loan.
Driving licence isn't till the end of November, don't worry I'll do it in time, it's having to get the new photos that's the hassle - mostly because my hair is a state and I'm going to be stuck with this picture for 10 years.
Aye business photoshoot, taking pictures of all my pretty wrappers... but again I don't want to spend the money until I actually know the wrappers are on their way. After the first proof the packaging was redesigned so everything got held up yet again.Hi GreenSaints, I'm sure your OH will get there eventually. I know that I don't like to say too much about what I owe to OH because I don't want him to be disappointed in me.
ere Dinah, but have you considered using the fancy schmancy premium petrol? OH's Dad was being really geeky the other day and had filled his tank with it and worked out that he'd got quite a bit more MPG out of it so it did work out cheaper in the long run even though initially it costs more. Diesel car so nope, wouldn't work
Just as an alternative slant, I would have thought other halves would appreciate that you'd felt able to be open with them about something that embarrasses you, it's difficult if it's an issue that's been around for a long time, but if you're planning a future together (buying a house, getting married, starting a family which has the biggest wage impact) then it's pretty nessisary for you both to know what pressures you face.
Birdie I think you've got a fairly small amount unless I'm mistaken which won't cause an issue during maternity leave, but it is worth you thinking about if you want the full years leave, because if so you'll be relying solely on our husband's wage for 3 months, and he'll need to know how much the monthly payment is at least. I know for us personally we couldn't afford to take the maternity leave on SMP and certainly not the unpaid bit with our current level of debt, which is probably the biggest driving force to get it gone.
Not liking the wintery-ness this morning, it's baltic out there.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Our first month they took £104 off us so a little built up, but £35 is actually our annual bill averaged out over 12 months anyway, we paid this monthly last year and got £221 back from the combined policy when we swapped providers
Internet Services....................... 18 Are you tied in to a contract? I'm sure you'd be able to switch this to something cheaper with cash back. This is cheapest for our use and area once NIM activates the payg sim, it should drop down to £12 then
Groceries etc. ......................... 100 Really? Really? Really. This month we're currently running at £3 under, so by payday probably be around £10 over but it's close enough now
Lottery................................. 9 I'd quit this too. You wouldn't just drop £9 in the gutter on the way home would you? Already replied to this, my dad's lot got 5 numbers and a bonus ball the month he started working there, and I just can't imagine how I'd feel if my team or NIMs won and we weren't in it. Plus at my work the £5 a month half goes on the lottery half goes into a savings pot to save for our Christmas do so I know I don't have to think about that when the time comes. I do also do a lot of work with heritage lottery funding so I'm very aware not all my money goes down the drain.
If anything happens to the car we have about £3500 'spare' on various credit cards which we'd use if needed, but until we're not paying any interest on any debt I can't rationalise having money in savings. Once it's all interest free I'll make a savings pot for emergencies. I'd pay £121.90 ish on £1000 of debt in a year, but only get about £30 in interest, so it makes sense to me to take the risk of needing to use the CC at this point, but I won't once we've paid off all the interest earning ones
And sorry to be a party pooper on the lottery. Not a fan is an understatement. I only ever have tickets when Nannan buys them for me at Birthdays and Christmas.
Very messy quote as it won't let me quote a quote, I hope it doesn't read as defensive but explaining my thinking.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
