Well... I'd say that only the bride is allowed the tears and tantrums! :rotfl:

When is the hen do Dinah? I've got my outfit for my friend's wedding you could borrow; which comes with a big fancy (slightly OTT!) fascinator which should fit in quite nicely! :) Can't help with the Parisian outfit (well, I do have a teal flapper style dress...?), would love to see what you end up with! :)

I'm quite looking forward to researching fashion at the time and hitting ebay...but need to do it soon as it's the 11th/12th August.

One of Grace's ears is coming up as 34.9C and the other as 37.9C..... the hospital told me to keep a close eye on her temperature but how on earth do I do that with such mad readings?!

Can you not set up a way to test the devices with a control?

Does she feel warmer than usual? If not, I would be inclined to believe reading 1.

I hate ear thermometers. I find them very inaccurate and am always second guessing. Can you buy forehead temperature strips

I haven't used them but I think I might invest as I have 2 fidgets for children.

hiya, just quickly caught up and with the thermometers.. can't you measure yourself then do Grace, as you're likely to be within the normal range and then you can see which thermometer is the most accurate? or get the forehead strips perhaps?

At work we test our thermometers using controls ie boiling water but im not sure how you would do that with ear thermometers. I would say to stick to one ear only though as you would still see if the reading goes up or down but you won't have the confusion of different readings.

Birdie well done to your DH on his comment. Another reply is to ask them about their sex life which is essentially what they are asking you. That's what I used to do when people asked me!

Ooh would love to see your dress dinah when you find one

Hope everyone is doing well today. How is Grace doing now Dinah? Still weird temperatures or has it settled down now?

Been left on my own in the office again today and apparently half of upper management are awaiting some kind of report that I have no idea about! Have explained the situation about a million times today but they keep ringing and emailing to see if it's ready yet. I. DON'T. KNOW. HOW. TO. DO. IT.

Sorry for the stress, had to vent somewhere. On the plus side, I made banana bread for the first time last night and it's rather yummy I have to say!

Urgh that sucks Ruby, hope they've stopped hassling you now!

Nice to see you popping in (and out again!) Tink! Hope things calm down for you soon. :)

LOL @ asking about people's sex life Star! Might have to remember that trick! ;)

Not a lot to report from my end, OH and I are bessie mates again and I'm feeling a lot better about everything. :o I'm still skint but it's only 20 days until payday so if I don't buy anything I should be OK. :)

I do wish we'd applied for Olympic tickets though, I've been watching quite a bit (well, it's hard to escape it isn't it?!) and really feel like we've missed out on something by not being there! Glad to hear we've won our first Gold now, hope there'll be more! :)

Oh no Biride, it seems these people cannot fathom that I can't do something I have no idea about. Have even texted my boss (who's at the rowing) to ask her advice because it's stressing me out. She said to just ignore them! So I have given up answering the phone and it's all going to voicemail now!

Glad to hear you and OH are ok again.

    Morning!

So pleased to hear that Grace is back home again where she belongs. I hope you'll fall into a sleep pattern over time - it must be so difficult to relax after everything you've been through. (And I don't know if I said, but very sorry to hear about your Grandad. Your family have had such a tough time, but I'm glad he had the chance to meet his gorgeous great-granddaughter.)

Ruby, that sounds mega-stressful at work! Hope it all blows over and they've stopped hassling you now :o

Birdie, glad you're back on good terms with your OH - I think you're quite hard on yourself. As others said (ages ago now!) it wasn't just your spending, the car and holiday were joint decisions and I think it's sweet that you're trying to make it up to him so he gets his treat too.

I wish I'd got Olympics tickets too - we did bid for a few, but were terrified to request more incase we actually won them all! I also wasn't that bothered until the opening ceremony. My OH is going with an Olympics-mad friend next week. Why do I find it hilarious that they're seeing women's wrestling? :rotfl:

All is ok here in the South - I finally got a new job! It's been quite stressful working on a freelance basis since wedding in May, so looking forward to a permanent job starting in September :D Congrats also to Shrimpy on your job - it's a great feeling isn't it?

Right, that was my overdue and loooong catch up. Where did July go, right? Hope everyone is well :)

ps. Dinah, the hearts were gorgeous - I can't believe you found time to sew all those with everything else on your plate!
