I loved the opening ceremony. Managed it from start till finish with Geordie Shore for afters
My Sister's friend is over from California so I invited her over to watch it with us, and even though she went "It's ABRAHAM!" when Brunel came out at the start, it was so much fun! My favourite part was the childhood nightmares, it was amazing.
This is exactly what my (English) friend said! I really enjoyed the ceremony too, although I did have a little snooze in the middle, so many countries!
Great news that Grace is home Dinah, and glad you are feeling happier now, bless NIM! You have definitely got yourself a keeper there!
Job is admin support, very similar to what I should be doing now, although what I actually do is quite different due to our team being a person down since I have been here. Its also in the Humanities dept, and me degree is in English, so a much better fit than where I am now
It seems as though my whole fbook feed is full of babies and pregnancy announcements at the moment, I'm so broody! Lovely to read everyone's good news though.

Glad Gracie's back home!
Glad NIM cheered you up too, he's very sweet! (but don't tell him, he'll get a big head!
)
We watched a lot of sport this weekend too, it's interesting watching a lot of events that I'd normally never see! Looking forward to the men's diving later (not because it's more men in small pants, no siree!)
Was a good no spend weekend as it was FIL and BIL's birthday on Saturday so we had a family lunch then I sent OH round to BIL's in the evening for some drinks and yesterday we just hung around at home watching various events with a couple of little walks into town as the weather was a bit too grim to venture far! Luckily OH loves all sport so was quite happy staying in
Shrimpy, our FB feed is full of those too! OH's so sick of it he immediately hides anyone who announces they're pregnant so he doesn't have to read about it every day then see the baby pictures when it arrives! Bless him, think he wishes he could be that annoying person who goes on about how amazing his baby is all the time!

So happy Grace is back home where she belongs, hopefully it's permanently now :j Agree with Star though, just stick to one thermometer!shrimpy_80 wrote: »This is exactly what my (English) friend said!
My Sister's response was "It's CLEARLY Charles Dickens" and I was just sat between them like "err, actually.."
I'm feeling crazy broody at the moment! And this is with lack of cute baby announcements, made me force OH into 'the' talk though

Any thoughts on babies birdie and shrimpy?

Trying and failing Star
Was convinced last year that I'd have a big ol' belly at our friend's wedding next week but that's clearly not happened so feeling a bit glum about it all!
What is wrong with the world when people don't know who Brunel is?! Saying that, OH asked why we were making a fuss about the Industrial Revolution and said 'Surely we can't claim that as our own...?' I wanted to smack him with a history book!
When we do have kids I'll be the one in charge of their minds, OH can be the one in charge of their sporting careers!

It went well, we're pretty much on the same page. OH wants to wait until Ryder has settled down (he'll be 24 months before he's fully through his "teenage" phase) but I have a feeling if I work as hard as ever with Ryder's training, we'll be having our parents around for a cup of tea and a chat sooner rather than later. Hopefully early next year
We'll see! It's not really something you can fully plan.
Sorry things aren't going the way you'd planned, Birdie
Hopefully you'll have some happy news for us all soon

Oooh that's exciting Cinny!
No plans for babies on the horizon for me and OH at the moment. I think if all goes to plan and we get married next year, then we'll still be waiting a few years before babies come along. We're in no rush and OH has only just come round to the idea of having A child.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -

Eeeee exciting! We won't be trying until after the wedding, but I have already managed to inch that forward from 2014 to August 2013 and we haven't booked yet so I may still gain a couple of months
I'm not very good at waiting and had to wait 7 years for the ring so I feel I've done my time! I think OH is coming round to the idea - slowly! He met our friends little girl a few weeks ago and was quite taken with her, I think it made it all seem a little less scary and unimaginable!
I get how your OH feels about fbook Birdie, but I guess you have to bear in mind that just because the announcements come 'out of the blue', they've probably been trying a while, they just don't announce that bit (because that would be a bit weird). As Cinny says, I'm sure you will be sharing good news with us soon. So glad Grace is home again. I am useless at taking Poppy's temperature , always seems low even when she feels really hot. It also changes from ear to ear.
Birdie - you will get there, it took us a year. made me feel like something was wrong for a while but it just takes longer for some people than others. I can't wait to start trying for number 2!0 -

I am so sorry to hear about your granddad, when mine passed away, nearly 5 years ago now, we were devastated but it was a relief, that sounds dreadful put down in black and white, but he had been so poorly for months before hand, and really didn’t want to be here anymore, he was in pain,had very little quality of life and he wanted to be with my gran, who had passed 10 years previously. Your granddads circumstances sound so similar it has bought a tear to my eyes.
Fantastic news about Grace xMFW - We've only gone and blooming done it!May 2013:j0
