Are you gearing up to try for number two Wendz? I can't imagine starting all this again, but my obstetrician made it very clear I'm likely to get further along the closer together I have my pregnancies if I want another one. Then again I was also told to loose 2 stone before trying again and I've eaten a 100g bar of Green & Blacks in the last 48 hours.
The way I looked at all the fb announcements Birdie is that that's not *my* baby, that's a cute baby, but it's someone else's not mine, and mine would come when it was good and ready. Kind of a fate will give you the right baby for you when fate decides it's done toying with you. I completely get your dissapointment that it's taking longer than you hoped though. The other thing I seem to see is that most people have a hurdle at some stage - either falling pregnant, the pregnancy itself, or something is up with the baby. And as Shrimpy says no one publicises how long it takes. I have friends married 8 years ago now, I remember them putting on facebook they were moving back to be near their families so they'd have the support when they made their own tiny person, it's five years later and they're gutted apparently that it's not been as easy as they expected. I also have two male friends who are DESPERATE to find wives and settle down and make some tiny people, I tried to think myself lucky to at least have NIM and be on the road to a tiny person when I was counting down the days until testing.
And to round off baby news, I'm sleep deprived as I'm scared to sleep in case something happens to her.... and my stupid tired brain just thought 'I'm thirsty' and picked up the bottle of baby milk....ewwwww! How she stomachs it I will never know.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Birdie I'm sorry to hear its taking a while. I do try not to ask people cos it can be hurtful when you get comments like "isn't it about time you had a baby" when you've been trying for a while. You'll have your big fat belly soon enough

Thinking of number 2 wendz?
2stone to lose before you try again Dinah? You are tiny. Surely you haven't got 2 stone to lose??Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
2 stone would give me a bmi of 18.7...so just in the healthy range. Pigs will fly before I manage to get there though! From what I've been told the smaller the better to beat blood pressure (which is all very well but I don't fancy getting rickets instead from lack of minerals from existing on thin air!)Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Not till after the wedding but would love to be now although now sure how it will work out financially.
I can't imagine you needing to lose two stone. That is a really tricky one for you, would be really tough to potentially put yourself through that again but if your chances are better sooner then it is something you need to think about.
Formula really does look and smell gross!0 -
I [strike]know[/strike] hope it'll happen eventually and I'm generally pretty upbeat/relaxed about it all but just feeling a little down this week as when we started trying we discussed the possibility of bringing a newborn to the wedding that's next week so it feels like a heck of a long time has passed with nothing to show for it, like we've missed our first deadline by a really long way!
We're getting a lot of comments about it too and it can be a bit awkward. On Saturday OH managed to reply to a comment made by his friend by asking, in front of his new GF, 'When are you going to propose? Or is that an awkward personal question?!'
Seems like we've figured out that the best defence is offence!
Good luck with losing the 2 stone Dinah... not sure how that's possible but I suppose any weight you lose will be better than nothing!

Might as well doing a little money and crafty update before the oestrogen floods the thread.
A few people asked for some pics of the hearts I made the nurses..... well I forgot to take any! Mum took one picture, but it only shows the embroidered sides, all the fantastic retro, Cath Kidston and screen printed African fabrics are hidden....
Moneywise I still haven't got a settlement figure to pay off my car loan, so no progress there. Been nagging for it for over 2 months now, but apparently because it's through work and not a commercial loan I'm a bit stuck as it's unregulated. Feeling like we've been treading water the last month with actually making headway, so going to try to take a few positive steps this week during Grace's nap time. I'm also making tentative enquiries about benefits for her as one of the other mums said you're entitled to some kind of help if they're oxygen dependant, I've never claimed anything before but if I go back to work and she's still on oxygen we need a carer/nurse for her, so it's better to get things started now just in case.
We booked our holiday cottage for my cousin's wedding last night, I'm really looking forward to it, I just hope Grace is well enough. Going to FOI her medical records just so we have a copy to take with us wherever we go in case she needs to go to a different hospital. I'm really pleased we could afford the cottage through having underspent last month, not quite sure how much we're actually paying towards it though, get the impression mum will chuck in a bit more than a strict half.
My cousin bless her said my brother's girlfriend can go to the full wedding if it means he'll go, as she wasn't previously invited down to cost and the fact they've never met her and they've only been back together less than six months. As the cottage we have booked is 3 bed we were going to suggest they come down on the train the night before the wedding, so just be down for 48 hours, as after the nightmare of France we didn't think we could cope with the two of them together for a full week. However they weren't talking and refusing to be in the same room as one another AGAIN last night after a friend's wedding, so mum's decided not to give them the option as they'll just cause a drama which isn't needed on my cousin's big day.
Booking train tickets to her hen do today, then I just need to find a cheap but post dress on ebay to wear to the races, and apparently a big hat. And a 1920s/1930s/1940s Parisian outfit for the evening do. Sounds like lotds of fun and I'm really looking forward to it, but I can just see me arriving looking like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards after setting off in my Ascot dress at 5am.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Good on your OH Birdie, people can be so darn nosey sometimes! There's a difference between asking out of interest/concern and just poking your nose in!
Good luck with the weight loss Dinah, you have a great attitude towards it. I thought the point of having a BMI range was that everyone's build is different, 18.7 may be great for some but low for others? Otherwise they would surely just have one perfect number for everybody? This is what I tell myself anyway! (Although my frame is tiny so this theory does not work in my favour).

Cross-posted: Dinah the hearts are lovely, I bet the nurses were thrilled to bits! And I think the plan with your brother's GF sounds like the best option, weddings are not the place for tears and tantrums!

Great news that Grace is at home! Sorry you can't sleep Dinah. We bought this for Max before he was born and also use it for Evie. I found I sleep great with it. I appreciate you have other things to be worrying about with regards Grace, and maybe you have one already but here is the link:

Birdie - sorry to hear that you have been waiting a while. I temped with Max as I wanted to be more 'in control' and was aware that I was 32 and not getting any younger. I was lucky to fall quickly and Evie even quicker, but I know a lot of people who do take some time. I also think people grossly exaggerate how quick it takes and it puts pressure on other people too. I think the average time is about 12 months now for couples. I am very careful about asking people about babies as you never know who is trying and for how long.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
