My car is called Dave, I think it suits him! Hope you and Grayson bond well Birdie!

Hope Ryder feels better soon Cinny!

Damage isn't too bad. Need new carpets in the hallway and flooring in the bathroom but other than that it's not too bad. Managed to wangle the day off work because someone had to be here to wait for the insurance people to come and look. Letting agents are going to sort it all out. Turns out the neighbours had blocked the drains and where there hasn't been anyone here for a while, no one realised there was a problem!

Jeez ruby, what bad luck. Totally reminded me I need contents insurance! Finally get internet sorted next week so will do it then.

I've been lurking using my phone (and gone £20 over my bill in the process grr) and Grace is such a cutie :) So glad you have her home.

Promise to catch up with everyone properly when I am reconnected to the interweb! x

I feel bad now my car doesn't have a name....

That site looks good Cinny, will have a proper look at some point. Hoping to do some hamper type things again. Yay for your sister being home soon. Shame you can't pick her up, hope Ryder feels better soon!

Ruby - arghh about the flooding. Hope it is all sorted? It is times like that you are glad when you are renting so you don't have to sort it yourself.

Not much news here, had some interesting training today about returning to work and how to handle it after maternity etc. Was funny though as i was youngest there and probably lowest position wise and half of them were talking about their live in nannies eek! Glad i don't have much responsibility at work though so i dont feel guilty leaving on time.

Glad the damage isn't too bad, Ruby :) how long do you think it'll be before it's all sorted?

Can't believe you car doesn't have a name, Wendz! I thought it was the typical thing for girls to do :o

Lots of happy news my way :) Firstly my Sister came home with a very American promise ring. They can't get engaged as it messes up visas for her traveling over there. So it's an engagement to one day get engaged I suppose?! Then OH's new manager and boss are super happy with how well he's doing and he's going on a business trip Monday. Bless him! And I've got £800 from selling Greg, hoping after getting the garden sorted and getting OH's car through it's MOT we'll have about £500 for savings, which will be nice :D

Hope Birdie's having fun with Grayson and Grace is still doing well at home!

I've never named cars either - reminds me too much of Christine!

Congratulations to your sister Cinny :D Great news on your OH doing well and selling the car too, all sounds good with you at the moment :)

What's everyone's plans for the weekend? I'm working in the pub Saturday daytime but other than that I have no idea. Whatever it is it's going to have to be cheap as I am poor :( Might go see my brother on Saturday night as he lives near the pub, so I can go when I finish. OH is at the airshow on Sunday so will enjoy having the flat to myself that day :)

ETA: Did anyone else watch the Bank of Dave last night?

I love Grayson! So nice to drive a good car for once, just want to keep driving around in him... and I usually hate driving so that's a big deal! :)

Glad to hear that the damage isn't too bad Ruby, hope the carpets get replaced soon. :)

Your training day sounds like it was fun Wendz! Live in nannies... how the other half live eh?! Closest we'll get to that is giving MIL a key! :p

Lovely news about your sister getting engaged to be engaged Cinny! :D Great stuff about your OH doing so well at work already and about getting £800 for Greg! All in all a nice week for you! :)

Not much properly planned for the weekend here. If it's nice OH would like to go up to Alnwick for a night away, he's been a bit down recently because he doesn't feel like he's had a decent break for weeks and the constant rain isn't helping so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a little sunshine so we can get out and about and cheer him up! :)

I didn't watch Bank of Dave Beccie, was it good?

I think this constant rain is bringing a lot of people down at the mo isn't it. It's not supposed to happen in July! So glad I get a summer in September and November :) Hope you get your night away Birdie :)

It was good - if he can actually get it up and running it sounds like a really good idea - how banks should be. Dave himself is hilarious too - worth watching just for him! He hired someone to run his bank and had the poor guy singing Elvis with him in his car on his first day :rotfl:It's on again next week, so worth watching the first one on 4OD.

I'll try to watch it tonight :)

I'm glad we get a 'summer' holiday in November too, but it was supposed to be prolonging our summer, not instead of it! :) OH is prone to SAD and once he starts to feel a little down about the weather everything else starts to build up inside him too, he's been moaning a bucketful about 'doing the same thing day in, day out' which is a massive warning sign that he's getting a little depressed. :( Bless him, wish I could whisk him away to a Caribbean island for a couple of weeks :)

Must have missed that bit - where are you going in November?

It would be nice if you could whisk us all away to the Carribean :D
