Morning!
I definately think we all need a holiday with this rubbish weather. Hoping once OH finishes all the olympic working we can go somewhere end of sept/begining of oct. Really need to be saving for the wedding but think we all need a break!
I watched bank of dave last night, was good. He was definately funny with his singing in the car.
Is my day off today so going swimming and music group with Poppy then tomorrow we are going for a day trip to brighton with my sister. Supposed to be rainy but hopefully we will find something to do.0 -
We should be saving for a wedding too but we're trying to book a weekend away after the Olympics. Was thinking of Budapest but that might not be possible now.
Exciting news about your sister Cinny! Hope she doesn't have to wait too long to be properly engaged.
Was mine and OH's 6 year anniversary yesterday. He cooked me dinner while we sat surrounded by bare floors! Getting our carpets replaced tomorrow because our landlord knows someone who owns a carpet shop. Going out for dinner with his work lot tonight. Bit nervous really because we're going to a thai restaurant and I'm allergic to chilli...I can handle small amounts like in a korma or something, but anything else and I'm playing with fire (literally). Will probably stick to boiled rice and that's it! Going to the Comedy Store tomorrow night in London as a treat because of the rubbish week we've had.
Hope everyone's having a great Friday and has a great weekend!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
I really want to do an order from them! But I'm bitter about them as they used to have a cash and carry near my old town I used to go too a lot, but now they're bigger they closed it down
think I just resent paying postage! What did you get?
A whole heap of naughty treat food which was meant to be for OH, but unfortunately I seem to have developed an addiction to pickled onion monster munch - sexy! Also creme eggs, penguin mini rolls, rocky bars... I'm putting on weight just thinking about it! The postage is steep, I felt like I had to buy loads to make it worthwhile then was worried in case it was horrible, but everything I've tried so far has been fine. Apart from this weird tango drink, its called Tango Turbo, I had never heard of it before but OH is a pop fiend so I bought some, its so strange! The bottle has a kind of button at the top and when you push it, the drink kind of foams out into your mouth like shaving foam
Luckily only got a couple of bottles of that!
Great news on your OH and sister, and car sale, happy new car to you and Birdie! And also to me, as I finally bought a car yesterday some three months after Doug went to the scrap yard in the sky! Its an old micra and is meant to be green but its more a metallic silver in my eyes. I think I might call her Minty
Just need a new job now!

 What on earth?!!
Minty sounds lovely! Old Micras are one of my favourite cars, Tete has one
What did you think to the venue?
How was the meal out, Ruby? Hope the weather was okay for you in Brighton Wendz!
Was lovely and sunny my way on. Don't know where it came from! Starting spitting when I was walking this morning (was at about 6:45, mind) so I think the nice weather's gone away
Got Ryder weighed though - 25kg!! Looks like he's set to be Akita sized, as 25kg at 5 months (which he turned last Monday) is the perfect on-track weight for an Akita
Hope everyone had a nice weekend!0 -
Hello everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend!

Did you find something to eat at the thai place Ruby?! Can't imagine being allergic to chilli, I love spicy food!
Hope you've got nice new carpets now... have fun hoovering up new carpet fluff for the next few months!
I have never even looked at the Approved Foods site as I know we'll end up with far too much junk... so tempted though as your stash sounds great Shrimpy! Not too sure about the weird foamy drink though!
How did you get on with the wedding venue Shrimpy?
Hope you had a nice time at the beach Wendz, saw the pic of Poppy on FB looking cute as ever!
How big should Ryder get when he's fully grown Cinny?
We went up to Alnick on Saturday and booked into a B&B. The weather was surprisingly nice and we had a good time walking around on the beach and going for a lovely meal in the evening. We went to Barter Books and OH got some books but I didn't as I have my Kindle now so there's no point.
We were going to go to the Alnwick Garden yesterday but just couldn't bring ourselves to pay £12 each to go in as OH really isn't *that* into that kind of thing and would get bored after an hour. Shame it's not a National Trust place so we could have got in for free!
Hope Grace is still doing well

Yes Birdie and Cinny - just about managed to find something to eat. OH was quite funny as he kept bugging the staff to make sure that my food went no where near any chilli. You could actually see into the kitchen where we were sitting and he would have stood there watching them prepare the food if I'd have let him! Ended up having some roast duck with braised vegetables in some tomato based sauce with sticky rice and some quite nice spring rolls. It was nice and the atmosphere was excellent but it was overpriced for what we had I think.
Went to the comedy store in London on Saturday night and it was good, apart from I ended up drinking way more than I realised and was the most drunk I've ever been. I make a point of not overdoing it usually but didn't realise that OH was buying me doubles all night! Wasn't too bad yesterday (luckily) but tummy still feels a bit "whooshy" today.
Carpets and things should be sorted this week.
Can't believe how grey and dismal it is here today. Looks like its going to storm soon! How big should Ryder get when he's fully grown Cinny?
If he's on the larger side he could be edging 60kg, 28inches at his withers (he's already 21in) Huuuuuge, basically!
Sounds like you had a lovely weekend though, glad you're pleased with Grayson too!
Was wondering how Grace is getting on too, just hoping no news is good news
ETA: took me a lifetime to write that!! That meal sounds like it was delish, Ruby. But bless your OH!
Hope you're feeling better soon too. I had the same problem with my OH on our last night in Rhodes, didn't realise he was getting me doubles in cocktails and my slushies were cheeky ones. Should have realised something was up when I was dancing along to all the kids songs with my gusto than normal, and started quoting Elf
4 hour flight hungover sat next to a Lady who smelt like cheesy soup isn't a good hangover cure, it turns out! 0 -
My description of the weird foamy drink doesn't even do it justice!
The venue was a bit of a let down actually, it's a local museum and I was super excited about it, I emailed for an appointment pretty much the day we got engaged
but when we got there the person that showed us around (supposedly the duty manager) seemed really disinterested and didn't even know how much anything cost, he just told me all the costs were in the brochure (well, they aren't actually, that's why I'm asking you! I can read!) It would have been lovely for photos but I was totally put off, it would have been at the top end of our quite small budget and I didn't feel they deserved it, frankly! Going to see a local village hall on Fri which looks nice but a bit worried it might end up costing more if we do everything ourself, although the control freak in me finds it very appealing! If that's no good we're eloping :rotfl:
Sorry to be a wedding bore!
Your weekend sounds lovely Birdie, well done on not buying any books, I'm not sure I could resist even with a Kindle!
Glad your meal was chili-free Ruby, its sounds delish! Was the comedy club any good? And happy new carpet to you

Your meal sounds nice Ruby
I love thai food but every restaurant near me is too expensive for it to be anything but a rare treat! Don't know why it has to be so pricey compared to Chinese and Indian?!
Oops about the sneaky doubles! I've been stung with that trick before too!
Sounds like Ryder will be a beast! When you have babies they'll be able to ride him like a horse!
What a shame about the venue Shrimpy! Don't blame you for feeling like they don't deserve your money! I'd be sending a snotty e-mail to tell them as much too!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary.
