Great news on the share money Birdie! Glad everything went well for you yesterday.
And on the move/OH job too Archers, its so good when things fall into place like that.
Sorry to hear Poppy is poorly but glad its not too severe - super exciting news on the photographer and dress too - does it feel 'real' yet? I couldn't wait to get planning at first but I think I'm having a bit of a 'woah' moment right now! (Not as in 'what am I doing', more as in 'can we just run away and do it in secret'! Most unlike me as I usually enjoy attention!)
Good start on the challenge Beccie, I think I will be doing damage limitation until after the weekend then getting down to it properly on Monday. Speaking of foolishly volunteering to make cakes, I have agreed to make a trophy-shaped cake for OH's football end of season social tomorrow. Why I thought this would be a good idea I don't know! Have made the cakes and done a very rough plan, and bought lots of icing to cover it all up so hoping I'll get away with it!Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0 -
I did 15 minutes hula hooping and 10 mins of reps with the hand weights.
Gah! Hand weights - I knew there was something I wanted in the shops this afternoon (definitely not a cat print blouse) - the tins of soup I've been using aren't much of a challenge!
Tete - I have a crochet question and think you may be the resident expertI want to do a blanket so want yarn that is really soft but doesn't split easily, is there any you can recommend. The manafacturers have stopped producing Kool Kotton apparently. I only started teaching myself a few months ago some I'm pretty new to it all.
Resident Expert eh? *proud face* Someone else asked me this earlier today too! I think the Kool Kotton is being replaced by something called Cotton On (James C Brett or JC Brett) but not sure what stage they're at with rolling it out or what the colours are like or anything. The Rico Creative Cotton splits very easily and it quite frustrating, plus it's quite stiff once it's worked up. I've just started making some scarves with Stylecraft Special DK which is acrylic rather than cotton but it's so soft and gorgeous and there's a good choice of colours - I'll definitely be using more of it iin the future!

Great news about the money Birdie, must be such a relief to get the cards paid off at last! Hope the head has improved and glad Nana had a good send off
Glad Poppy isn't too bad Wendz
Also good news about D's grandad, any updates on him/Grace today?
Day 5 of the Shred today, feeling less stiff every day is that how it's meant to work? Is it a sign I should be moving to the next level? I'm doing 5 days following Anita and five following Natalie for each level so I'm upping it slightly on Monday. Off to the Race for Life tonight, it's been raining all day and thunder and lightning this afternoon so I'm not exactly feeling motivated but loads of people have sponsored me (reached my £250 target!) so I guess I'd betterThanks to all you girls for your sponsorships, very much appreciated! :kisses3: Wish me luck!
Have a good weekend all!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Everything is moving so fast on this thread lately! I'm finding it difficult to keep up!
We're making progress on the wedding front too. Literally been living with OH a day before he brought home a whole bunch of wedding magazines for me! We're looking at next September or October date wise now. Going to try and book a quick trip to Prague around that time this year and see what the venues are like that we like the look of.

That's fantastic news about Dinah's Gramps, NIM. I was really confused by "GIL" so I'm glad there's lots of posts after it explaining. Woops!
Tete - I wouldn't really mind who you're following on the DVD by Level 2, I think, Natalie is a major slacker!! Good going on 5 days though. Good luck tonight!
That's a tidy amount Birdie, have fun spending it! Like Tete said, will be amazing for you to get those credit cards paid off. I'd hate car shopping with OH though, was bad enough on holiday trying to pick a car to rent. I wanted small and cute while OH wanted something flashy and super fast! (I won in the end cause all they had on the day was a Micra ) Do you two have similar things in mind for a car?
Hope Poppy is feeling better soon, Wendz. Poor poppet
Good news my way, OH got offered the job he really wanted :j He'll be 3k a year better off before any kind of bonuses so he's super happyPacked him off to the pub to watch football, so I've given Ryder a bath (he's going to meet the inlaws tomorrow!) and having my first night sans football since this whole hooplah started. I feel like I can breathe!
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!0 -
Brilliant news on the job Cinny, big well to your OH, must be such a good feeling!

Fantastic news on your OH's job Cinny! Hopefully he will feel a lot better once he has started.
I think I must be one of the only women who enjoy watching the football, i was wathing it last night and oH was at work lol.
Hope the race for life went well Tete!
Shrimpy - i was strangely not sure where to start with the planning etc and not that excited even though i have always wanted to get married! I think it is feeling more real now though. Can't believe we have been engaged nearly 6 months already. When it is a year to the wedding think that will be a shock!0 -
Excellent news about your OH Cinny! :j I hope he takes great pleasure out of handing his notice in and refusing to do any more overtime!
Hope you and Poppy are feeling better now Wendz
We booked our holiday on Saturday! :j OH was checking out the package deals and found our 'dream' hotel at a great price (£200 cheaper pp than usual for some reason and about £1000 cheaper than other companies!) so we marched down to the travel agent and got it booked before they could put the price up again! So freakin' excited, no idea how we're going to wait until November! Morning everyone
Hope you all had good weekends!
Can't believe it's Monday already - Friday night I just chilled out with OH, Saturday day time I worked, out on Saturday night for drinks for my brother's birthday, cue hangover Sunday morning, sewing machine lesson with OH's Mum Sunday afternoon and to my Mum's for dinner Sunday night, and back to work this morning to relax
(Also, the weightloss challenge went out the window over the weekend ssh!, back on it today though I promise!)
Thanks so much for the crochet advice Tete, wil be off to see if the new cotton is available yet. Hope the Race for Life went well!
Hope the cake making went well Shrimpy.
Well done to your OH Cinny :T
Glad Poppy seems to be getting better Wendz.
Hope I haven't missed too much off there!Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
Can't believe it's been 6 months, Wendz! I wouldn't know where to start on a 'big' wedding either. Makes me so thankful all I have set in my future if anything is a council office and a pub meal :rotfl:
I actually ended up putting the football onNothing else was on! I encourage OH to watch all the matches though, gives me an excuse to enter competitions
Entered nearly 350 last week  I have to win something off that!
Waiting to hear off my Mum as we might be going to look at a puppy today. I might have already named him John, a little 5 month old rescue Staffy that's had a rotten time of itNot for me though, to add to my Parents pack!
Ohhhhh muffins, Birdie! You jammy gitThat hotel looks amazing, when is it you're going?
ETA: Beccie, missed your post! How did the sewing lesson go? I meant to get all sew-savvy with presents last year but broke my Mum's sewing machine so decided against it!0 -
Hi Cinny
John is a brilliant name for a dog! Poor mite though if he's not been treated well
Sewing went well thank you, having never used a sewing machine before! OH's Mum is like a master sewer (if that's even a word), she makes all sorts. When I got there she said here's what I did yesterday and showed me an entirely re-upholstered ottoman  So I was quite pleased that she deemed my attempts at straight lines as very good
Oh no to breaking your Mum's sewing machine though!
Going to start with a cushion cover I think...that should be easy right?!Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0
