I bought my dad some beer and chocolate last weekend as won't see him this weekend. Need to get him a card though and need to get OH something from Poppy. She has made him a cute card at nursery with her hand prints on.

I have been working through our amazon voucher fund buying books, i try and just pick the 99p or less ones as i seem to read about two a week.

Poppy got sent home from nursery today poorly and OH took her to doctors and she has hand , foot and mouth. CMD - i think i remember Max having this? Anyway she doesn't seem too bad but got to take tomorrow off work to look after her.

Hi Wendz - good memory! Max did indeed have it. He was very bad with it and was in an awful lot of pain. It was a terrible period for us because I was heavily pregnant and no sooner had Max gotten better than OH was run over :(

I hope Poppy only gets the mild verision. How is she today? We had to keep Max off for nursery for about 7 days.

Good news about your grandad Dinah, and hope Grace gets her bed back soon!

Exciting news about the wedding bookings Wendz :) Poor little Poppy though, hope she's feeling better soon.

I've got my dad a 'Gap Year for Grownups' book, my mum will kill me as he's been going on about it since I came back from travelling but she has no desire to give up her job etc. Oops.

Little bit of exciting news here, my boyfriend was down yesterday to sign for our house and for an interview. He did a very specific masters which only really has one career route via the NHS, however he didn't get on the scheme and was pretty demoralised. So when I got this job down here he was looking for jobs in the area and stumbled across one that was pretty much perfect - for a private company in the medical testing field.
Anyway he had his first ever interview and found out today he'd got it! It's a graduate trainee post so a decent salary, bit of a commute so we'll have to juggle the car around but I'm just so pleased for him! And just so nice to have things work out well and no stress over affording things for the house.

I leave my hotel tomorrow, will miss the biscuits in my room and big breakfasts but sure it will help with the weightloss challenge! Then boyfriends parents bring all the furniture they've found in the garage down at the weekend. Just been trying to sort out broadband, comparing cashback offers etc - It all feels so much more grown up than uni living!

Morning all! Please keep the noise down today... feeling very delicate :o Nana had a good send-off yesterday, but it was a lot later and boozier than planned! Sat at work trying not to sway too much :p We're having our bake-off today too, I had planned on baking my scones last night but we were home too late so I had to get up at 6... won't be doing that again in a hurry! ;)

Good news about Dinah's Grandad :)

Exciting about the wedding stuff Wendz! :)

That's brilliant news about your OH Archers! Give him a pat on the back from me! :j

Will check out your Pin tonight Shrimpy! :)

My Argos card arrived yesterday (only ordered it on Wednesday, was supposed to take 3 days to arrive!) so I'm now the proud owner of a Kindle Touch. Had a little play and love it already!

Oh and I nearly forgot the best news... we got our share money yesterday! :j:j £14841! :j:j So as soon as it clears we can book Florida, pay off the CCs and go car shopping! Whoop whoop! And the icing on the cake was that I also got a cheque for £50 from the laser eye clinic for recommending someone! :D

    Morning everyone :)

Good news about Dinah's Grandad. Hope Grace is doing well too.

Hope Poppy is feeling better Wendz.

Hi Archers - I think I'm the new person you're saying hi too anyway! Great news for your OH.

Share money is fantastic Birdie :j

I was good last night on starting the weightloss challenge. I couldn't find the Shred DVD last night :o But, instead of watching TV instead which is what I would normally do, I did 15 minutes hula hooping and 10 mins of reps with the hand weights. Will look for the DVD over the weekend.

Tete - I have a crochet question and think you may be the resident expert :D I want to do a blanket so want yarn that is really soft but doesn't split easily, is there any you can recommend. The manafacturers have stopped producing Kool Kotton apparently. I only started teaching myself a few months ago some I'm pretty new to it all.

Sorry, I've gone from lurking to talking too much :o Hope it's not too weird, it's hard not to feel quite involved after all this time :o

CMD - think Poppy has the mild version as she hasn't had the rash on hands and feet and still been eating. She seems a lot better today and slept all night last night. I on the other hand now have a sore throat and am all achy...

Archers- fab news on your bf's job. That must really take the stress off things for you. Sounds like it is going to be a lovely new start for you both.

Birdie - glad the send off went well. Woohoo for the shares money. So exciting you can book Florida and buy a car!

Beccie - lovely to have you here so don't worry about jumping in!
