Wow so much stuff has happened while I've been off!
Congratulations Shrimpy! You're ring looks gorgeous! I toyed with the idea of a saphire but I'm pleased with the ring OH got me. OH keeps bringing wedding magazines home for me (we've only been living together a week!) and he wants us to focus on saving for a wedding now. We wiped the entire wedding fund out paying for our deposit for the flat and other things (at least we didn't stick it on his credit cards!) so we have to start from scratch.
You're wedding looked amazing Poddle! If mine comes out looking half as good I will be a happy woman.
The new job is a bit meh to be honest. It is so different from what I did before which is taking a bit of getting used to. Plus they kind of threw me in at the deep end and I felt so stupid asking for help doing things because they are so busy with their own workloads. They aren't really explaining the processes properly either, just taking over when I ask for help...I did tell them I was overwhelmed by everything but they don't seem to have taken that on board. Hopefully it will get better!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
Morning everyone! Did we all have nice weekends?
Birdie - sorry to hear the bad news that you have had, hope you and your OH are both ok.
Dinah - I dont know what to say, please make sure you look after yourself in this hard time. I hope Grace has had a good weekend, any further news of when she might be able to come home?
I have had a little bit of good news. I have not been made redundant, however I will only be returning to work 3 afternoons a week. Not great, but I guess its better than losing my income altogether.Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -

Adding my measurements as I plan to do the 30 day shred, so I'd quite like to see how those change.
Really nervous today as I have my CT scan to locate the tumour. Given my role in proceedings today is to lie still, it seems crazy to be nervous, I should get the results tomorrow. Nevertheless I'm nervous, today will make it real, at the moment part of me is still convinced it was a lab error, given I'm completely without any of the other symptoms.
No definite date on Grace coming home yet, but maybe in about 3 weeks depending on how she progresses with the new breathing game they're playing with her.
That's great news about not being made redundant Flower, I'm sure you can find a way to make it work financially.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Hi all!
Feeling much better now after being ill Thursday and Friday. Luckily OH was well enough to go to Berlin, he got home last night and was realy clingy which was sweet but made me feel quite guilty as I'd had a lovely time on my own without him under my feet! Might have to send him away more often!
Had a horrible time with my car yesterday morning, I'd spent the night at my friend's house, went to drive home and my power steering had stopped working. This happens some times so I gave it a minute and tried again. 30 minutes later I had to call FIL for advice who drove the 25 minutes to have a look at it, still no better. Called Green Flag and waited 90+ minutes for the guy to turn up (despite them assuring me it'd be less than an hour!)... he gets in the car and it works fine! I was so annoyed! Sod's Law or what?! The minute we get our cheques through with our share save money (which should be in the next couple of weeks) we're going to get a car which doesn't rattle and creak and break-for-no-reason-then-fix-itself-inexplicably. And I hurt my foot because I may have kicked it a couple of times
Sorry the job's a bit Meh right now Ruby. I'm sure it'll get better with time, the first few weeks at most new jobs feel a little rubbish as people seem to forget that you need proper training!
Are you an official fiancee now Shrimpy?!
I really hope the CT scan goes well DinahWill be thinking of you.

That's great news on not being made redundant Flower. Having your hours cut is never good news, but like you said it's better than the alternative.
Hoping everything goes as well as it can today, Dinah. Keeping everything crossed you're fine.
Your wedding looked flawless Poddle, seriously! You make a stunning bride, and on a totally different note the donkeys are adorable
Can't remember if I said congrats to Shrimpy or not, so congrats again! My memory's useless
Funny old weekend my way since Thursday, OH's been signed off work for two weeks with anxiety and been prescribed anti depressants. Just feel rotten for himHe has a second interview from last weeks job this Wednesday though, so that's given him something to focus on/take his mind off his current job. Nice having him about the house though, I haven't done any housework since Thursday
I've got back on board with comping too, got to be in it to win it and all that! Just hoping to win a couple cheeky presents to give people more than anything :A0 -

Hello girls and boys, haven't had time to post on here for six weeks but had a bit of a catch up yesterday.
Dinah - wow, you really are going through it. So sorry to hear about your Granddad but as you say it's probably better in the long run that it hapens quickly if it has to happen at all. Must be so hard to see him like that though. Great news that Grace could be home soon! Keep focused on that. Thinking of you at your scan today. Making it real is a good thing - then you can deal with it, whatever 'it' is. It's always better to know. Fingers crossed for you x
Hope you're OK too NIM, take care of yourself!
Shrimpy, congrats, that ring is lovely! I'm lucyintheclouds on pinterest if anyone wants to add me and hasn't already
Birdie, so sorry to hear about OH's Nana (this was probably ages ago now) - hope he's ok, sounds like it if he's been off to Berlin! Annoying about the car, what a waste of a Sunday! (I still haven't sewn those buttons on)
Flower glad you're not being made redundant, a few afternoons is better than nothing and at least you have something coming in while you look for something else.
Ruby sorry the new job's not amazing, but they never are until you get into your stride (and even then...!!)
Poddle, congrats again, your wedding looks so gorgeous and LOOK AT THOSE DONKEYS!!
Little update from me, not much has been happening but my Dad had his scan after his first 10 weeks of chemo and his tumour has shrunk by around 10-20%. So pleased with this as when we first spoke to the oncologist he seemed to think we'd be lucky to even stop it growing. So he has another 5 months of chemo (one down) and another 2 months until a second scan. Not out of the woods by any means but he's looking and feeling a lot healthier. Obviously this is bittersweet for him as he's lost his sister but it's been an enormous weight off my shoulders - you don't realise how stressed you are until you're not any more if that makes sense? Feeling so positive at the moment.
Glad I caught up when I did as my health kick starts today! Since I started running I've been letting myself eat what I like, but since Dad was diagnosed this has gone overboard to the point where I'm only 3lbs off my biggest weight ever (when we did the first diet challenge a while back). Still fitting into my clothes but feeling bloted and hippo-like. I have a good stone to lose and would like to have most of it gone by a wedding on 18th Aug. I got up early this morning and took pics in my underwear and took measurements then did Day 1 of the Shred. I'm also controlling calories and drinking as much water as poss. Current weight: 158.75lbs

Hi everyone,
Busy on here this morning!
Hope the scan goes ok Dinah, that is good you haven't had any other symptoms.
Flower - great news about not being made redundent. At least you will get to spend lots of time with Noah with the cut hours but will just be tighter moneywise.
Birdie - what a nightmare with the car. Sounds like a new one is definately in order when you get your shares.
Cinny - sorry to hear about your OH. I am sure you are being a great gf and looking after him.
tete - that is good news about your Dad. Sounds like he is fighting it well and you are right to feel positive.
Our weekend was nice. Went down to southampton as my auntie and uncle were visiting and we had a bbq on the campsite they were staying on and also went to another bbq at my friends. Managed to avoid the rain.0 -
