Thank you ladies! I ended up choosing the ring, OH had arranged to go shopping with a friend of mine to pick it out yesterday but as I ruined his proposal plans :o, we decided to go together instead. It's this one:6485758?$detail$

Sorry its so big, MSE wouldn't let me paste the image, only link to it, and I'm not savvy enough to resize it. I could be persuaded to partake in a little DOTD action! I'm just waiting on OH to speak to my pops, he's been a bit poorly recently but hopefully it will be in the next couple of days. Although he did mention holding off until our anniversary which is the 14th, but that just seems so ridiculously far away! I think he wants me to have a romantic proposal story to tell, rather than that I was winding him up about going shopping for rings so he did it to shut me up! :D (which is kind of true in the nicest possible way!)

I would like to join in the diet challenge too Dinah if that's ok?

Also I meant to say, sorry to hear about your OH's nana and friend Birdie x

Wow, loads going on! Massive CONGRATULATIONS shrimpy! I love the ring, so glad you can tell us while you wait - think it's lovely that your OH wants to give you a nice proposal story!

That's awesome debt news Dinah, with everything that's going on it must be a huge weight off your mind. Really hope Gracie continues to do well and can come home soon. Hope you don't feel too down, I'm sure everything will be fine :)

ETA: I'll join with some healthy eating, I got nice and skinny while travelling and was hope to stick to no snacking between meals etc, but living in a hotel has messed that up a bit, will weigh in over the weekend.

Sorry about your news Birdie, your poor DH :( Hope his trip cheers him up. I'm working for a big food company, going well so far. Just been told we've got the house we applied for and move next week! Very excited, though I'm going to be a living with a BOY - bit scared! Any advice ruby??

Lovely ring Shrimpy! :D Whether your OH likes it or not that is your proposal story now, and it's cute that you wound him up and he cracked because he just couldn't wait to ask you! Friends of ours got engaged a couple of years back, they picked out the ring together and were engaged, but then she *made* him plan a romantic meal with a speech so he could propose 'properly' because she wanted a special story to tell everyone. I prefer the spur of the moment stories :) Although I love this! I hope that works, can't get on YouTube at work to double check! :)

Have you chosen your wedding dress yet Wendz?!

So sorry birdie about OHs nan and friend

Dinah :j that Grace seems to be doing well but I'm sorry to hear you are feeling so carp. It's only natural with everything that's gone on lately but remember this too shall pass.

I will join you on a weight loss challenge. I have 3lbs to lose to get to the next stone which was my original goal but if I'm honest I have another half a stone afterwards to stop looking so frumpy. :o so count me in.

    Congratulations shrimpy that's fantastic news

    x

That's kind of how my engagement story goes :rotfl: DH was supposed to come to mine after he finished work. Well he was really late and I was due to go to work myself.( I worked evenings) when he got in I gave him a big lecture about how he obviously didn't care about spending time with me blah blah blah. He finally snapped and admitted he'd been shopping to buy my engagement ring and some roses etc to make the place really romantic while I was in work so he could propose to me when I got home! Oops :o I personally think its a funny story and would still tell that one even if he had then proposed a 2nd time more romantically :D

Aww congratulations Shrimpy! That's lovely news :) and what a fab, unusual ring.

I think big romantic proposals are overrated anyway... that's my story and I'm sticking to it! (my OH had decided to propose in the January when I was away and bought the ring, which was then burning a hole in his pocket until May(!) so he just randomly popped the question during a Sunday morning lie-in, with me shouting "don't you do this!" repeatedly at him - so romantic! I guess I'm a bit pleased he didn't listen :o)

Dinah, can't believe you're having such a tough time of it at the moment, it's very unfair and you're doing brilliantly well to be keeping it together :) not to mention still clearing lots of debt in the process!

It's fantastic that Grace may be coming home this month. Try to stay focused on the positives. Though I can't imagine you need to lose anywhere near 2 stone, maybe a diet challenge will help you feel like you're taking control of something. I will join you - I'm sick of hovering around 10 stone, just want to be firmly in the 9.5 stone camp, please.

Welcome back Archers, hope real life isn't too stressful and you find somewhere to live soon.

Hope your first day went well Ruby!

Glad you had good hols Cinny - I was exactly the same; hardly put on anything while I was away, but it was the post-holiday takeaways and wine that got me! Fingers crossed for your OH's job too.

Birdie, I was just debating getting those filthy Fifty books on my Kindle! People must like them as they're selling like hotcakes, but the reviews were awful - are they just trashy bad or bad bad?

Yay to planning your next holiday too :D I've decided we need something in the pipeline too! Not suffering with post-wedding blues at all, but would be nice to have something to look forward to.

Oh, and here is the link to our photographer's blog about our wedding for anyone who'd like a peek at our pics :)

Oh my gosh, hello poddle  You look gorgeous and I love everything about your wedding (And I ain't a gushy wedding type!), your dress is sooo nice but it may be the donkeys that clinched it for me!...or maybe the cake!...or the flowers.

I just tweeted this but knowing how crafty you all are does is anyone able to invite me to pinterest? I'm too impatient to wait and want to join NOW. I'll PM my email if anyone can help :)

I can invite yu if you pm me your addess Archers if no-one else has.

Poddle - the pics are so gorgeous, love all the details for your wedding - the cake , the photos, the flowers and of course your dress.

Birdie - not been dress shopping yet. Hard to find a time when me, mum and sis can all go and when someone can look after poppy as don't think she will be helpful. Hopefully going in July. Not really sure what i'm after. I am thinking something sort of straight down but we will see.
