Hi! :wave: Had a lovely few days away doing absolutely nothing. We got there just as a heatwave hit so it was really hot, we got burnt on the first day and spent the rest of the time hidden under the umbrella and manically applying suncream every 20 minutes! The hotel was nice for what we paid, it was an over-16s only place... but the clientele were mainly over 60! :eek: Was a bit like staying in an old folks home, but the area is gorgeous and we'd definitely go back.

Sorry to hear about Gracie's set-back and move up to Newcastle, hope that she's doing well now and that the specialists can figure out what's wrong and get it sorted quickly. Would love to see photos of her nursery. I saw the latest photo of her on FB and she's changed so much, lovely to see how big she's getting!

Had a nice birthday yesterday, OH had organised for his Mum to come and put my presents out and put up a Happy Birthday banner to surprise me when we got home. Got lovely presents off OH (a too-cute Disney Couture headband, a crazy pink satchel covered in cupcakes, a replacement Tangled mug as mine was chipped and other little bits... far too much as usual! ) I do worry that OH sees me as a bit of a child when I look at what he buys me! :rotfl: I suppose I don't help that image though as I needed a beach towel when we were away and picked out a Barbie one! Having a party on Saturday which should be fun, our friends keep texting to say how excited they are so I guess I'm going to have to make an effort to make it worth their excitement! Going for a red, white and blue theme and trying to think of food and drink to serve!

Hope Grace is doing well in Newcastle and that they can sort out the drain. We had difficulty putting one in one of our patients yesterday, I can't imagine how difficult it is putting one in a tiny baby!

Sounds like you had an amazing time Birdie! Hope Cinny is having a good time too! OH still wants to go to Rome in September, but for only a few days rather than a week because we'll be on a tighter budget from now on.

I cant believe how quickly this week seems to have flown by!

I have got the boring task of going to the council offices today, I have just been made aware that we are entitled to a small amount of housing benefit - only about £14 a week, but we need all the money we can get at the minute! So I need t go and apply for that today.

Hi all

Were at the freeman in newcastle waiting to see one of the consultant surgeons. Graces phneumothrasis (sp?) Were a misdiagnosis, while she is fine in herself, hiccups not withstanding, she is having the top lobe of her left lung removed as it is simply a bag of cysts rather than a functional piece of lung tissue.

Apparently its a relatively common surgery for the consultants here, who are apparently david beckham level famous and good in surgery term, but as you can expect were worried. Prayers, voodoo chants and / or sacrificial offerings (delete as appropriate) are very welcome.

Of course you're both worried! That's the most natural thing in the world. You also know logically that Grace is in the best place possible and being looked after by the best people possible but what you're both going through would spook anyone!

I'm not into prayers or voodoo chants but I am sending all the good vibes I can to the three of you (and a virtual hug too :grouphug:)

It's good that they've finally realised what the issue is, hope the surgery is nice and straightforward so that Grace can heal and go home ASAP. Sending my best, most powerful good wishes your way. If it helps I will sacrifice a Mars Bar (to my belly...)
