Grace is being a medical mystery. Docs can't figure out why the drain wont go into the air bubble. Consultant tried last night and its still not in the right place.
Poor poppetCan't believe that photo of her Dinah put on FB yesterday, she looks like a totally different baby!
Can't wait to see her room, I was wanting to ask how it was getting on but thought with what little time you must get to update on here now you might want to get the more important stuff across
Super excited for my jollies now1 hour left at work then it's home to get organised. Hope Birdie's having a great Birthday!

Just waiting on the docs to speak to the specialist respiratory team in Newcastle today to see if they can shed any light on the issue. So stress has lead to me making a huge batch of gingerbread. After 40 minutes of trying to get the jar of ginger open I was seriously considering having gingerless gingerbread, but now I have to share my trick I found - use a teaspoon with the bend against the jar and use the point of the spoon to prise the lid a little, it will break the vacuum and I can get the lid off. End result happy doctors and nurses who are on such a sugar high they can save twice as many tiny people. Win win.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Anyone thinking about a private healthcare plan - I'm now the biggest proponent of Medicash ever. They were auditing my claim for the inpatient stay, and the auditor called to ask me a few questions. When she'd spoken to me she went and spoke to her supervisor and they've decided to pay my full inpatient claim, AND the birth of a child part which I didn't think I was eligible for as she was born before I was a member a year, but they've said they'll pay it as she was due after the years membership date as they're so moved by our story. I'm in tears, she's going to call back and let me know when the money has been put through, and let me know how much they've paid, but I think the birth of a child bit is £750 on its own.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

That's great news Dinah, glad that they took it so well and offered the money. You all deserve it.

They're paying us about £1500, I'm so thrilled, that will help us so much. They money should be in the bank by the end of the week apparently. We seem to be making some pretty big financial steps forward lately, which is brilliantly as it's been a weight around our necks for so long. My grandad has also said my brother and I are being left £5000 each in his will, but we can have it when he sells his house if we want it. I've decided I'd rather have it now, it'll pay off the car loan completely and that'll be another debt gone. I will be a lot more on the ball with my money updates in the future, as I'm always thrilled to announce when we've paid off another debt and made steps forward, it's jsut such a chore to do all the numbers if we've gone in the wrong direction.
Haven't been able to get through to the nicu all afternoon, this has panicked me somewhat, and means I don't know if they managed to speak to the team in Newcastle.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Thats great news about the money being paid Dinah, means you dont have to be worrying about that! Hope little Grace is doing well this afternoon.
Well we've had a lovely weekend here. My mum came for the weekend for a surprise visit. She said she knew how much we were struggling and going without things for ourselves so we could provide for Noah, so she came with two big boxes of nappies, lots of wipes and a tub of his food. Then she took us food shopping and stocked up our freezer - oh how I love my mum!! Dont know what I would do without her sometimes.
So the stress is taken off for a couple of weeks now. Still managing to make minimum payments on debts, would prefer to pay more but at least we're not falling behind!
Thank you again everyone for kind words. Cloth nappies might be something to consider looking at. Cinny - forgot to say huggies you said about are a good price, unfortunatly they always seem to leak for NoahBiggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
That is great money news Dinah! I am sure that will take the stress away from you a bit so you can cocentrate more on your little family.
Hope you have managed to get some answers from the doctors. I am sure they massively appreciated the gingerbread men!
Flower- you have got to love Mum's! Glad to hear you are free to relax for a couple of weeks.0 -
Grace is off to Newcastle. Probably tomorrow but possibly not if there are no beds. They're going to try to get me a bed in one of their hospital flats too so I can stay with her, if they can't I think I'll be putting a bit of the medicash money towards a hotel for the night, the travelodge at central station is only £32 - while I know she's stable and won't need me to rush there in the middle of the night, there is still that part of me that can't cope with being over an hours drive from her just in case anything should happen. Plus it's about £20 in fuel going up and down to come back up the next day, so really its only £12.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
