Fingers crossed grace's scan goes well and there's nothing wrong
Ruby where are you moving too? The price of rent is mad isn't it ! It makes it so hard to save I any see how were going to get much of a house deposit together really but we are kind of trying! (I know a mortgage can be the same cost as rent but I guess you're payin towards capital it more feels like its not jut throwing away money..)
Dinah I sent a tiny something for grace but I had to get someone s
Else to post it for me as I can't get to a post office while they're open... Did you ever get it? It was posted 2 weeks ago I think!0 -
How did Grace's scan go? Is everything okay?
How was everyones bank holiday weekends? I took Ryder into Charter Day (which annoys OH as I never use the term 'may day' because of it!) as he's really nervous with crowds, but once we got going he was a bit of a hit! Couldn't walk 5 steps without a comment or someone wanting to fuss him. He kept thumping people because human + hand nearby = treatGot asked if he was a wolf, without any hint of sarcasm :undecided
Hope you get there with saving for a deposit, Tink. Must be so frustrating, no wonder so many people end up moving back in with their parents just to get a foot on the ladder.
As of tomorrow I'm going to be one of those annoying 'this time next week!!' peopleGetting the very last toiletries today, and OH's off to get a bigger suitcase from his Mum as ours are too tiny to bring stuff back.. and when I say 'stuff' I mean things borrowed for forever from the hotel.. :A

Good morning all! Hope a nice weekend was had all round!
Congratulations on becoming a Mrs Poddle! :j Photos on FB are gorgeous!
Hope Gracie's had a good weekend and she's getting bigger and breathing better
What's the dealio with Charter Day Cinny? Never heard of itGlad Ryder got on well with the crowds though, not surprised he was a hit, he's a stunner!
I am that annoying 'This time next week' person, although I just declared that 'This time next week it's my birthday!' and then had a small pout as we'll also be flying home after our 4 night holiday-which-isn't-a-holiday-because-it's-less-than-a-week-long.Quite giddy about going on Friday, although I have to get our taxi booked, reservations printed off and my teeny case packed before I can actually relax and get excited about it! Went into Primark on Sunday but didn't like anything they had (our local isn't that big and is a bit hit-and-miss) so I'll be bringing out the old holiday clothes as usual!
Got a good glitch/deal in Boots on mini suncreams since we can't pack any full-size bottles. They've got all suncreams half price but the minis are also on the travel mini 3-for-2 deal and labelled on that section as full-price (£5.49!) so I got 3 and they went through at half price and I got one free. Small victories and all that!
I just have to decide which books to take with me, books can make or break a holiday so it's a big decision! Stupidly I couldn't wait to read The Hunger Games, I really should have saved that but I'm onto the last one now which will probably see me through the flight but no longer. Really want something as easy to read and fast paced as that but not sure if there's anything like that out now worth reading?Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Morning everyone,
Not had a very exciting weekend. Weather has been horrid here so I had to try and entertain Noah in the house. OH working yesterday so didnt even really do anything then either - mind you we cant really afford for him to turn double time work down!
Hope Grace is doing well today. I saw some lovely little clothes in her size (couldnt believe how small they were!), I really wanted to get her a little gift but i'm affraid I just cannot afford to Dinahsorry. We can barely afford to put nappies on Noahs bum at the minute!!
Hope everyone else is ok.Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Congratulations Poddle on being married! I agree with Birdie, the pics on facebook are stunning. I love the headdress you had for the reception. Looks like everyone had a great time.
Had a nice weekend , went to a 1st birthday party/bbq sat, not a lot sunday, then Monday went down to Greenwich to see my sister with my mum and dad and went out for lunch. My sister has a new pet tortoise, is pretty cute but doesn't do much lol.
Glad Ryder had fun Cinny. Not long now till holiday!
Birdie - exciting about your trip away too, well done on the suncream savings is so expensive!
Hope all is ok with Grace.0 -
Congrats Poddle! Hopefully you'll be able to post some pics here for those of us that don't spend that much time on facebook!
Had a productive weekend, we actually found a flat! The dad of one of our friends actually owns a few properties in the area and just had another one available. It's a 1 bedroom flat that they gutted and then have totally redecorated and rewired with a new kitchen and bathroom. Plus parking and lots of storage. Quite excited now. Just got to wait and see what happens with the references now.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
Sorry things are so tight for you atm Flower
At least with the good weather you'll be able to get out and do plenty of free things!
Can't really help with the holiday books, Birdie. I'm still stuck in with world of A Song of Ice and Fire, so unless you think you'd like them?? I've been made to download a bunch of cheap chick lit though because "who wants to spend their holiday reading fantasy battles?" errr...Shame you didn't find anything you liked in Primark, but atleast you're all sorted!
Not long now till holiday!
A week today!!
I'm already excited, been waking up at about 6am (which, in all fairness, is only 30 minutes before I normally do) know for a fact that is factual I won't be able to sleep the night before
A pet tortoise though? That's amazingwhat s/he called?
Great news on finding a flat, Ruby :j Fingers crossed everything goes through, wouldn't think you'd have a problem though0 -
That is good news about the flat Ruby
Yeah, woo, one today today Cinny! :j
I may have the holiday book issue sorted, dug out a decent sounding thriller and ordered another which may or may not arrive on time. Knowing my luck, it won't.I need a Kindle so I can just download a new book if I'm not enjoying the one I'm reading and I don't have to wait for the bleeding things to be delivered!

I wouldn't be without my kindle now Birdie, it's great! I have the 3rd generation keyboard one so I find it easier to browse the internet with and I love that all the classics that I've always wanted to read are free!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170

I'm a kindle convert too, wouldn't be without it either. Still amazed every time I decide I want a book that I can get it instantly!
There's always the newsagents/book shop at the airport if the second book doesn't come in time.
Just had the most vom-tastic moment. Ryder found a half decomposed dead pigeon somewhere and was in the work yard ripping it to shreds _pale_ had to collect it all up and skip it. Ugh!0
