It's amazing how quickly Grace is putting on weight, she's clearly in a rush to go home! :D

Well done on getting the MS for the car service too, very good! :)

I was very impressed with myself last night as I actually sewed the button onto my dress, 'Button It Challenge' complete! :) I couldn't find my sewing kit (despite seeing it *somewhere* about 3 days ago... just no idea where!) so I had to use pink thread... on a black dress :o But it's done! Next job is to finish the crafty project I started at the weekend, no excuses no to tonight! :)

Cinny, talking about packing, I've no idea how I'm supposed to pack for 4 nights using only hand luggage! I pack for 1 night and I can't fit it all in my little case... this should be very interesting. I might need one of these! ;)

Yikes!! I wouldn't like that one bit. Have you got the clothes you're going to take or are you using it as an excuse to go shopping? Only asking because I got some £7/8 maxi dresses from Primark that will work during the day and will be easily dressed up for night time too - best part is they fold up to basically nothing and the material hangs at a decent weight so creases fall out. Alternatively, wear all your clothes going out there and use your hand luggage for toiletries :D If it'll help the pain my Sister had to pack for 3 months on an allowance that's meant for people packing for a fortnight!

I told OH I'm going to go through my suitcase and thin it out a little.. I might possibly have enough outfits for 25 days :o I have enough dresses alone to not wear the same thing twice, which on one hand seems a little excessive BUT I don't want to get there and think 'dang it, I should have packed *blahdeblah* MY HOLIDAY IS RUINED WITHOUT IT!'

I could do with a couple of new maxi dresses actually, only got one that I really like so I shall be heading to Primark this weekend! :) I find that I've had the same holiday clothes for years and I hate the fact that I'm wearing the same stuff more or less in all of my holiday photos :o I'll have to go through my stuff and work out what takes up the most space and wear it to fly in. Toiletries can go in OH's case since he only needs 2 pairs of shorts and 4 t-shirts! ;)

If your suitcase is only weighing 12ish kgs, don't bother taking clothes out, enjoy being a fashion model on holiday! Just get one of those vacuum bags so the case doesn't bulge :)

I'm jealous of your holidays Cinny and Birdie. Are you going to Rhodes Cinny? If so, I loved it! We stayed in Lindos and there is the most AMAZING gelato shop there and the marina in Rhodes is fun to go to to spy on the really posh and amazing boats moored there. Was the first beach/sun holiday that me and the OH went on and it kind of put us off because OH got sun stroke (even though I kept nagging him to reapply sun cream in the 40 degree heat!) and an ear infection and he sprained his ankle on the last day.

New look had some ridiculously cheap things in the sale section the other day. Went and got 5 dresses (suitable for work but also 'going out', not that I will be able to afford it when we move) and 2 tops for under £40. Went to look at a flat last night that the OH had already seen and he said it was nice. Which it was, but turns out that 2 people can't stand in the kitchen at the same time and the bedroom will just fit the bed and that's it. And for £850 a month, I would like a little more space really!

    Hi Dinah

Lurker delurking here!! Firstly congrats to yourself and NIM on the birth of Grace. She is absolutely beautiful.

I just wanted to say that my sister has had 3 premature babies. We aren't 100% sure why, but it just seemed that she couldn't go full-term with any of them. Her first was born at 29 weeks, but with each pregnancy, she went a bit further along. Her last baby was born at 35 weeks, which is the most she has ever gone.

Anyway, just wanted to give hope to you with regards to having more babies.

I hope that Grace continues to thrive and will be home with you before you know it.

    Emz xx
Thanks for posting hon, much appreciated x

Go little Grace on her weight gain though :j how long do you realistically think it'll be before she's home?

And that's good news the Doctor didn't strongly suggest against another pregnancy. What do you think you'll do?
Get in really good shape before trying again, try to find a way to make exercise, even just a walk or a swim with Grace, more a part of our every day lives. I don't like the idea of her being an only one, and it is really scary knowing I'm likely to have the same issues, but I can hope and pray we get further next time, even if the odds are against us.

If she sorts out her breathing hopefully she'll be home at about the start of June, she is making good progress she's just not quite ready to come off the high flow machine and onto the low flow. Low flow would be a great step as she can go into a cot on low flow, and come home on it too if she needs to.

Poor Grace's issue of the day is that her lymph nodes under her arms are hugely swollen, but not the ones anywhere else, and the doctors can't work out why. So she's having an ultrasound on them today to try to work it out.

Aww poor Gracie, hope they settle down again quickly! :)

Where are you looking to move to Ruby? That's a lot of money for what sounds like a shoebox!

So glad it's Friday today, this has been such an annoying week work-wise, just want to get it over with! And it's a long weekend! :j Going for an indian and drinks with some friends tonight, bit of holiday clothes shopping tomorrow, cinema on Sunday and a beer festival at our Cathedral (seems odd that, doesn't it?!) if we feel like it on Monday :D

Hope everyone else has lovely plans for the weekend! :)

Oh and Ruby, my OH always has one day on holiday when he's all sunstrokey, it's like he has to suffer to realise that it's a good idea to do the simple things like reapply suncream, wear a hat and stay in the shade during the hottest part of the day! I stick ice on the back of his neck and wrists to try to cool him down and send him to bed early. I hope that he doesn't waste on day of this trip feeling terrible since we've only got 4 nights! :o

Ditto to the Friday feeling Birdie, I think it was National Incompetence Week at my work... I have my eyes fixed firmly on 4pm!

I did a really long post yesterday replying to everyone but the site logged me out and I lost it so I've forgotten most of it now, but I am still laughing at 'Old man chicken nugget' Birdie :D Your poor OH!

All this holiday talk is making me quite jealous, especially on such a gloomy rainy day!

Sorry to hear Grace is poorly again Dinah, hope they figure out what is causing it. Hopefully not too long until you can take her home.

It's more the fact I hate overpacking than the weight. I got it down to 15 outfits, then remembered my Sister's lending me a few dresses (the joys of not being part whale anymore :T) so it'll be about 20 by tonight.. :A

That sounds bonkers for £850, Ruby! Hopefully you'll find something soon, there's got to be one out there that's perfect. It is Rhodes we're going to, we'll be in Kolympia :) It's equal distance between Rhodes and Lindos so we're going to try and catch a bus to both for the day, but considering how cream crackered OH is and how many books I've downloaded I think we'll be sticking in the complex/Kolympia most days :o So excited, it's my first flying holiday for 10 years, and probably the last for 10 years as we'll be back to Cornwall holidays next year so I don't have to leave Ryder :D

Hope the ultrasound doesn't show anything terrible, Dinah. Poor Grace! :( Start of June isn't far away at all though, how exciting :D I think pram pushing with all of Grace's bits and bobs will keep you exercised enough, looking at Mum's around here you'd think you had to bring the whole contents of a nursery on a quick trip to the corner shop!

Sounds like a lovely weekend Birdie, I don't really have anything out of the ordinary planned. Planning on working really hard on Ryder's training, with plenty of walks/jogs. Taking him to look at ducks Sunday then I'm braving him with the crowds on Monday for charter day. His people/other dog skills are terrible at the moment as people tend to keep a distance with their dogs thinking he's an Akita :( Just hoping the weather's nice! It's nearly always boiling on Charter Day.

Hope the scan goes ok for Grace, she likes to worry you doesn't she! I have found running round after a baby has worked pretty well exersise wise and gets more the more they move around. I feel lazy when i am at work now sat down all day.

Ruby - that sounds worse than round here in terms of price, we pay a bit over that but our flat is lovely and spacious.

Friday is my day off so four day weekend for me yay. Today i am off to baby music this afternoon , although i think they may kick us out into toddler music now she is walking lol. Then Poppy's friends 1st birthday party and bbq tomorrow, sunday will probably catch up with housework then monday seeing my mum and sister.
