That's horrible Birdie, stuff like that feels like bullying and always makes me feel terrible (I don't think I'm exaggerating there, am I?). I think NIM gave a logical answer though. You never know, if you go back they might coach you as you hoped - maybe they've realised how mean they were being? This is why I love my little running group so much - we are all ages and abilities and everyone is applauded whether they finish in 16 minutes or 60 - at a race recently the chairman of a 'serious' running club said we were a breath of fresh air :D

Were you picked last for the sports teams at school by any chance?! :p I know what you mean about the bullied feeling though, I guess some people just never grow out of needing to get one over on someone weaker :o Nearly everyone I told about the smacked head incident asked if I hit the guy back, it never occurred to me to retaliate, maybe that's where I've been going wrong, I'm not aggressive enough?!

Hope you had a great Hen do Poddle, and that your skirt had !!!!!!! :D

Hope everyone's weekend was good, ours was fairly quiet but nice. Went to the cinema with my brother and SIL to watch Avengers Assemble... SIL came out saying, 'Phwoar, that Freddie Prinze Jr just gets better with age!'...'Errr, I think you mean Robert Downey Jr!' :p

Good news about the payrises! :T

Wonderful news about Grace's weight gain! :j

Dinah, brilliant news about Grace, I bet you are so excited at the thought of taking her home!

I had a good weekend thanks, my nan turned 92 on Saturday so went to see her bearing cakes, then out in the evening for a friend's birthday for a little too much fizzy water :o

Was the film good Bridie? Everyone I know on facebook seems to have seen it this weekend.

Brilliant news that Grace is gaining weight!

Well I have some scary news, there is a possibility that I will be getting made redundant and wont be going back once my maternity leave has finished _pale_
Whilst I would much rather be a stay at home mum, I NEED to go back because of money. Im so worried about it! Should know by the end of the week.

Is that legal? Sounds like they want rid of the one with the child.
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

Well done Grace on the weight gain, she is doing so well.

    LOL at your SIL Birdie.

Flower - oh no that is awful. Hope you get some good news. If not will you be able to find something similar to do?

I worked out why my pay is more than i thought. Completely forgot i got a small payrise last year (was on maternity pay at the time). So when i was pro rataing to 4 days i was doing it on my old salary. Good news we are slightly better off though with that mistake, plus new payrise, plus student loan being less. Although we managed to spend a fortune in sainsburys yesterday so doubt it will go far!

Oh dear, does my simmering resentment show?! :o

Great news about Grace, she'll be running rings around you in no time! Best to get the ebaying done now while you can.

Totally meant to list some stuff myself but decided to paint the bathroom instead. Sat on the loo seat lid to paint an awkward corner and went straight through the bliddy thing and fell in the toilet! :( Good job I hadn't decided to stand on it to reach the top edges as I could've broken my ankle.

So feeling decidedly hefty at the mo! Training for my 10k in Ireland but was told on Sat that I have the beginnings of shin splints so have to take it quite easy and have ice baths - ugh my life!

Argh, sorry to hear that Flower, must be very stressful - are they allowed to make people redundant who are on mat leave? I thought you'd have to be back so many months? But I don't know where I'm getting that from!

Shrimpy, love that line in your sig about 'This time next year...' - so true of me, I procrastinate so long that I could have done something ten times over by the time I get around to it.

How is everyone? Poddle how was the hen? Countdown to the wedding now!! Ruby how's your granny doing?

I think they can be made redundent but they have to have a reason other than they are on maternity leave. A couple of mums i am friends with have been made redundent but they are getting good packages.

Oh no about your painting accident Tete! Good job you weren't standing on it as you said.

    Just found this

Your employer can make you redundant while you are on maternity leave if they can fairly justify their choice. For example, your employer might close the section of their business that you normally work in and make all employees in that section redundant. Then your employer can make you redundant as well.

Sorry to hear this :( Why are they taking redundancies?
Oh dear, does my simmering resentment show?! :o

I recognise the resentment as the same feeling burns me deep inside! :rotfl:

 Like you say, it could've been much worse, glad it was just your bum! My Dad did that once, stood on the loo seat and went straight through! Luckily no injuries, just a soggy sock! :p

Hope your Dad's doing OK :)

That comment about procrastination is me all over too! I'm doing it right now actually, got people breathing down my neck about something at work but I'm a little fed up about it so putting it off! :o I'm the same at home with my little projects, Pinterest is amazing and has given me so many ideas, but I just find myself spending all my free time looking for more projects to do rather than just getting on with one! :p I did actually do something productive on Saturday night though, it's a decorated letter to go on the wall. Not finished yet but it's looking so very pretty, I'll be blogging it when it's done! :)

SAME! I feel so inspired and motivated whilst at work too (with non work things I mean, obvs) but by the time I get home I CBA :o

Dad's not too bad thanks, feeling good in himself. Two more chemo sessions and then another scan to see if it's made any difference. Getting nervous about that already. It's OK when you're just going through the treatment cos you're thinking, "Well, we're doing what we can, let's be positive" but at the end of the day you don't know if it's been working til you get the results.
