Grace is back in the nicu. She got another pneumothorax last night and has a chest tube in again and is back on the ventilator. She's also needed a blood transfusion. They have just upped her morphine more as she was splinting and causing her sats to fall through the floor. I'm doing a better job of staying calm than usual.

I hope Grace gets better and is off the ventilator really soon.

Thinking of you and your family. Love the photograph of Grace smiling, so cute.

Oh poor Gracie, I hope things improve today and this is just a minor hiccup. Sending lots of love your way xxxxx

Sorry to hear about the problems you're having with the hospital Ruby, sounds really stressful. Can you see about getting her into a care home temporarily so she can have round the clock care until/if she's well enough to go back home? I know it's a tough call to make, I remember my family struggling to make the decision for my great grandma to go into a home but she'd had a couple of falls and even though she was still fine in her head (a little forgetful, but she was about 97 at the time so it's expected!) the family couldn't leave her alone in her house without worrying constantly and the closest family members, my Nana and Aunt (we lived 50 miles away), weren't well enough to live with her and look after her themselves. She was a fiesty one though and kept running away! :)

Hope Grace improves quickly Dinah, thinking of you x

Ruby - that sounds really tough. We went through similar with my Grandma last year . My dad and Auntie had to pay for carers to come twice a day and cleaners and my Mum and Dad would go and visit every other day which was a 50 min journey each way so was tough on them as they both work full time. Hope you manage to get some help for her.

Dinah I hope Grace is doing better today. I'm sure it was just a hiccup. She is in the best place she can be.

And well done on staying calm. That's a challenge in itself. Thoughts and prayers are with you

Sorry to hear about Grace's little hiccup, hope she's out of the NICU again soon. (oh and sorry for hijacking your thread!)

Spoke to the SW today and we're all feeling a lot better about things. Because she's in a hospital that's out of the area that we live in, there's a lot of negotiation going on. Her current SW in the hospital is recommending to my nan's allocated SW from our local area that she has carer's 3x a day to prompt her with washing and meds, lunch and fluids and then bedtime and her dementia meds. We have to wait for our council to give the OK but it looks like they will. Then we can sort out meals on wheels for her and then she can go home. All I can say is *phew*

That's great news for your Nan, Ruby :) I'm sure she'll be feeling a lot better in herself for being at home/familiar surroundings too.

Hope Grace's doing better today. Loved the cheeky grin photos of facebook, she really does look like a fighter.

Can't believe it's Friday again already! What's everyones plans for the weekend? I'm all excited because we're going to see Steps on Sunday. STEPS!! Accidentally double booked myself on Sunday with tickets for the RAW tour, but thankfully we're sad and booked 2 dates on the tour so I still get to see Smackdown on Wednesday. And I prefer the Smackdown wrestlers so everythings coming up Milhouse :D
