No that doesn't sound twisted Cinny, much better to just die suddenly than have a long drawn out illness, that's how I want to go. Also would like to be eaten by a lion or something, you know, to get in the papers
A watch loan? I'm sorry but things are bad if you're having to take out a loan to buy a watch, unless it's a Rolex or whatever, but in that case - you can't afford it, buy a Casio! I agree with Starnac, you need to let them find out for themselves. Chances are they already know deep down which is why they mock you, they're jealous that you don't have that hanging over you.
Like the sound of No-Scale November, yeah I think I'd be up for that!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Very nice charts!
I'm very impressed by your getting 37 things on ebay, can guess that next week's list will include a lot of wrapping parcels!
So sorry to hear about the doggy Cinny, it sounds like she went peacefully so that's a comfort. No idea how to steer your brother in the right direction, maybe point him to this site, obviously not this thread, but any of the DFW diaries will show him what he's getting into! And a watch loan?! What the frig?!
I'm still off work poorly, feeling a bit better today but I know from experience that if I'd have gone into work I'd be dying so taking it easy!
Got a new laptop yesterday, it has a really smart fingerprint scanner which remembers user names and passwords, now to log in on here I just have to swipe my finger- how clever is that?! Really handy for me 'Mrs-Can't-Remember-Any-Passwords'Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. I need a little advice too, about my Brother and his mardy one. They're getting themselves into more and more debt with this house deal. Like yesterday when I told them where we got our curtains from their reply was "Oh, good. We can get credit with them." Whaaat?! They're already sitting on 2 car loads, a friggen watch loan and I seriously hate to think what they've racked up through the company buying building things. They won't listen to anything I say, even when I suggested saving up gas money for winter they just started mocking me and Rich. They seem to look down on us but hey, we have good savings and only OH's car loan as debt. They can think what they like on that account, I don't really care. I just don't want them to go down the big debt path if I can stop them, I just don't know how to get them to listen!
Loath to I am to admit it, he wont see it no matter what you say as long as she wont let him. As a gender we are blinded by our SO's until they make one blunder too many and the whole house of cards falls down.I've tried both, I've even tried talking to her straight. I did shock her with the Council Tax, she thought it was about £50 or something. OH bought it up last night and I said then maybe we should just stop trying. But it's my Brother. It's hard.
Course it is, he's your brother. From years of banging my head against the brick wall that is my brothers stubbornness I've learned he'll learn in his own way and their aint a damn thing I can do other than be there and offer him advice when he wants it and help when I can. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -
Phew, just spent the better part of an hour calling around emotionally blackmailing people until I got an old guy fitted in to have his hot water sorted today. My cousin broke his wrist last week so we just have 2 guys on the job for a while, took a lot more arm twisting than normal!
Oooh, no Birdie! I'd hoped you'd be better by now. And least you have a swanky laptop to entertain yourself with. How neat is a thumb-scanner-ranner?!
Its just hard to sit back and watch, and I'm a busy body by nature. It's in my genes, my Great Grandma was the greatest curtain twitcher of all!But yes, he has a watch on a loan! It's like, the bentley of watches or something. I don't know, it doesn't look anything special.

I dunno, you're in the paper a couple times and you've gone all fame hungry!Tete_en_l'Air wrote: »Like the sound of No-Scale November, yeah I think I'd be up for that!
Be neat if I had people joining in with me! I'll still be charting progress with pictures, or perhaps the ribbon trick. Going to get OH to hide the scales so I'm not tempted to just hop on and not tell anyone. :A0 -
Tete_en_l'Air wrote: »Morning! Well done on the ebaying, that'll bring in a good chunk in a few days' time! LOVING the graph and chart - first things I saw when I logged in and I did a sort of 'OoooOOOoooohhhh!' that's normally only reserved for firework displays.
Also I echo Tink, anyone still do MB?
NIM it's on the first page, second or third post?
I want to get back to matched betting, but I need a float first. Hopefully can pull some out of the ebay money.Dinah I've just realised that we are half way through October already (bit slow me!) Will we be having November goals next month as well?? Or was the October thing a one off??
I was planning to run it again, as people seem to have responded quite well to it. No obligation to get involved, just quite nice to have a focus.archersluck wrote: »
37 things on eBay is amazing! When do they finish?
9/10 days as some went up Saturday and some last night. Not a huge number of watchers yet but if everything sold for the starting price it would be just over £300 - now I know it won't all sell, but the things that do sell won't all finish for the starting price.Well done on the ebay, Dinah! Back to your old waysI'm sure the chart will come back around when you're more awake to it. Sometimes when you've been working at something it takes a good break away to see the fault staring right at you when you get back to it!

I wouldn't worry too much about a few treats Cinny, you're doing great things for your health, the exercise will be doing you a lot more good than the harm caused by a bit of Chinese.
I don't really know what to advise with your brother, everyone looks at debt in a different way. Some people see it as so long as they can make the minimum repayments there is no issue. Can you discreetly ask if they're taking everything in joint names or each spreading it evenly? If she gets him to take it all on he potentially could be in the mire if she leaves him with all the repayments. It would be better to spread it between them rather than have joint accounts as they'd only come after whoever was easier to find or earning more. I can see why you're worried, but sometimes people have to make mistakes to know better. I know better after my experiences with my ex... didn't stop me though so I guess some people never learn.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Cinny I'm going to say now that a no-scale November is going to be a no for me. I can't wait to weigh myself after the baby is born. I weighed myself before i got pregnant and weighed myself before i finished work. I plan to weigh myself again this week (2weeks to go) and maybe next week if baby isn't here by then. I'll know then how much weight i have put on with this pregnancy. I want it all off by my birthday in April so I need to know what my target is. Sorry
It is hard to see your brother get himself into debt but at least you can be there for him when his lightbulb moment comes. You can then run in armed with all the best advice (from here obviously) and try your best not to say "I told you so"Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -

Well it looks like a few of us would be up for November goals.

One of my oct goals is going well but the other two not so well. Am doing well on my surveys but think i will run out of money very soon for the month and also the weight loss is not happening, too many biscuits have been consumed.
Dinah - hope you manage to sell lots of the ebay items.
Cinny - some people just won't listen and have to learn for themselves. At least you are safe in the knowledge that you and OH are doing everything sensibly.
Birdie - hope you feel better soon, OH has a couple of days off now and is poorly (typical). The laptop sounds really swish!
I went to a new baby and toddler group this morning that a couple of the mums i know go to so that was good. They are having a halloween party in two weeks so gave in and bought Poppy a little cat costume from sainsburys (only 6 pounds).0 -

She be the cutest little muffin there! I keep seeing the halloween stuff for kids in Asda and going all squishy. Why so adorable!
That would be a great result on the ebay items Dinah, fingeroonies are firmly crossed!
No need to be sorry about the NSN, Star! Totally different kettle of fish there. I'm just getting close to my GW faster than I thought (at this rate, getting there by New Years is pretty good looking) and need to figure out ways to keep myself motivated and maintaining a healthy lifestyle without the scales.
Biscuits are my downfall too, Wendz! I've switched my treats to nutella and skinny topcorn though, which is working pretty well. I do miss a good rich tea thoughwith a glass of orange squash! Hmm! You'll get there with the weight loss when you're ready though, no doubt about it!
