Sorry to hear you were back in the hospital Dinah, hopefully the tablets will do their magic thing and make you feel better! NIM's right to tell you to take it easy and concentrate on nothing but growing your little girl :)

I was wondering what's happened with the MS holiday too?!

We've got our mini 4 night holiday in May booked now, airline were really good with sorting out the free flights, I was worried they'd drag their feet a bit or stick us on the right day but bad times but they booked exactly what I asked for within 24 hours so I'm pleased :) Hotel is booked too (via Quidco so hopefully £15 cashback!:)), we spent a little more than we originally planned but the hotel looks very nice and it's half board. Now I just hope that the weather is good as apparently in May it could go either way! :)

Tink, I always feel bad about wishing away my weeks too, but it doesn't stop me from doing it! :o OH is worse than me, he wishes whole months away! :p

Sorry to hear you ended up in hospital again Dinah. Make sure you rest lots, the most important thing is you and baby.

Hope they manage to find out what is wrong woth your Grandad soon so he can be treated.

Is definately nice when you get your evenings back when baby starts going to bed early.

Exciting about your trip away Birdie! Something nice to look forward to.

I amm definately not wishing the week away this week as is my last week on maternity leave :(. Bet it will go so quick though as we have lots planned including 3 1st birthday parties.

We had to cancel the holiday, just don't think it's a good idea to travel right now given the hospital situation and I might be back and forth.

Just to top my "relaxing" day off, Tesco called to say my delivery this evening won't be coming as the van has broken, okay, fair enough. Except they can't just reschedule it for another night, I have to log on and do it... but I can't just rearrange the current order, or repeat it, because there is a system glitch so I can't see the what was ordered, and I can't remember everything obviously. So I called back and they then managed to rearrange it for tomorrow... but it's coming up as £237 rather than the £103 it should be! So she's said call back tomorrow if that's what they charge us. Shambles.

We had the same problem with Tescos and I was really worried that the order would come in at a much higher price, but despite that showing on the system I was charged the original price. Worth a call to complain - I did as they hadn't even called to say that it wouldn't be coming - they honoured all special offers that would have expired and I came away with £50 vouchers :)

Sorry that you're struggling so much with BP Dinah. Now I've de-lurked I may as well join in and say relax! :D

Can't offer any encouragement re: long afternoon naps! I would be lying otherwise!!! What I will say is that by about 5 months old, the baby is going to sleep by about 7-8pm so you do get your evenings back. Before that though, you can foget about it!

Agreed here. We have just started to get some of our evenings back (finding it very strange!).

As for afternoon naps, not only does it vary from baby to baby, but it also varies day to day! Some days Noah catnaps throughout the day, other days he will sleep for 2-3 hours in the afternoon - I never can predict how long he will be asleep for.

Also worth considering that by the time they are getting to around 5 months they are happy to entertain themselves for longer. I can get some washing done, bottles sterilised and house tidied while Noah plays with his toys on his playmat. So they dont have to be sleeping for you to get things done!

Yes i agree they entertain themselves more but then you get to the stage where they are crawling and they try and type on the laptop haha.

Poppy had started doing a long afternoon nap a few weeks ago but think she is teething now so has stopped doing it .

Evie is not on the move yet either and I am not encouraging it!

Agree re: the naps. Evie had 2 longish ones today but she is now waking from 4.30am-6am every morning so I am wrecked by 8pm as Max gets up between 6-7am. Somedays she just catnaps!

Thanks Beccie - a job for NIM I feel. He manages to find a great balance of pushy and charming I just can't get.

Hospital admitted me again after a high reading at the midwife on the afternoon. I was so confident I'd be let out as both my readings in the day assessment unit were 130/80, however the doctor didn't want me to go until she'd spoken to the registrar as she didn't like that it had been 150/110 two hours earlier. By the time the registrar got back from an emergency case my bp was back above the 100 mark again and I was admitted. I had a great midwife last night, who really fought my corner and got my dose made more frequent, so hopefully I won't get the gaps where the pressure rises anymore. However I'm so sick of being admitted, I'm going to ask not to be discharged today, as I'd rather they monitored for a few days, checked the dose was right, then sent me home only to come back when it was through the roof.

They did scare me senseless last night. My blood test from the weekend showed some liver enzyme to be 3x higher than the allowed range, and they were worried I was getting pre-e showing up there rather than it impacting on the more usual location of the kidneys. So they retook the bloods, but warned me if it came back the same or worse we'd need to start discussing delivery options, and start me on steroids to get her lungs matured within a few days. I'm suprised I didn't actually have a complete meltdown at that point to be honest, she's only 25+1 - I feel like 30 weeks is this magic number to aim for and until then she must stay inside.

In good money news I sold something for £360 last night on ebay, so that's a stonking great chunk off the debt. We've now decided we're going to clear my little credit card, and NIMs little credit card, and then rather than clear the overdraft, car loan and one big credit card we're going to put the money into savings, so we know we have enough to make the minimum repayments for a few months when the baby is born anyway.

Fence actually came down in the night last night apparently. NIM is going to go speak to our neighbour and apologise for not doing it sooner, but we can't put it off any more now.

Oh Dinah you poor thing! Does sound like a good idea to not be let out again until they have sorted things out. Glad you have a midwife on your side as well.

That must have been quite a scare last night.Obviously you want to keep her in as long as possible but they can do amazing things now if things were to change.

Good news on the ebay money!
