clearmydebts wrote: »Sorry NIM, I have to disagree with you there. I think it is your own responsibility to check up on what remaining minutes you have left. And I am speaking from experience. When I got married in Barcelona my phone bill was £450 when I got back, due to me not checking the bill and not ensuring I had vodafone passport. While I was angry, I felt it was my own responsibility to not run up the phone bill.
If the tech to block it didn't exist I'd agree but having the technology available and as far as I was aware running I dont. They only stopped doing this 10 months ago but withdrew it very quietly.
I've paid the bill and written it off. But their point blank refusal to use technology that is readily available and easy to use to help people keep their bills under control shows me exactly the kind of company they are.
And aside from all that I can't understand a word any of their non-uk call centre staff say over the phone. I'm not normally too bad with indian call centres but these people are dreadful. They seem to struggle with me too.
On a slightly related note, I rang O2 to renew our broadband contract, got £5 of per month and 6 months free. The guy I spoke to was from the same neighbourhood as me.This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -
Lol only way I know he got.my message is.he posted on here :-D
I repliedHow weird is this; I was looking at hotels last night and found one right on the beach, nice area for restaurants and shops etc, only £44 a night but really good reviews on TA... I show OH when he gets home and he says, 'Hmmm, that looks really familiar... that's the hotel we stayed in on your brother's stag do!' Of all the hotels in all of Spain I choose the same one my brother chose!
Thats hilarious. You'd almost swear you two are relatedThis was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -
Glad someone is fighting your corner Dinah !
Oh no you shouldn't have told me about the pumpkin patch offer Cinny! Seem to be spending all the limited money i have on presents this month. Got my Dads birthday, mothers day, friends little boys 2nd birthday and about 5 first birthday presents. Just ordered my mum a half price photo mug from truprint for mothers day.
Birdie - that is weird, you obviously have the same taste!0 -
Oh Dinah, sorry to hear you're feeling so rough. Hope you feel better soon, glad you have someone listening to you now at least.
Weird about the hotel Birdie! Your Twitter made me laugh last night about Man or Muppet, I feel like that song is haunting me!
£15 off is great Cinny! Was that a 'come back to us' type email? I am going to try and stave off food shopping until the weekend, might make for some interesting lunch combinations though!Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0 -
I posted it for the sake of the children. They said they only want to wear really cute clothes, but their little fingers cant quite manage the keyboard to tell you themselves.
Yes, that's what happened.
I think the best thing to do next time NIM, is get one of those contracts that offers you an outrageous amount of minutes and texts for 50p a month or whatever. OH needs to look into his phone bill as it was £10 more than normal, which is naught compared to your charges but he hardly ever uses it :undecided unless he found out there are sexy single ladies in his area wanting to talk to him.
Need to remember that mug deal for Mothers Day, want to get one printed with Newfies for OH's Mum. Sounds like you're all organised though, Wendz! I have a list of what I want to get everyone for birthdays this year, so I can pounce on any offers that come up. Not that we're being cheap this year or anything.
Shrimpy, it was a £10 off first order and then a £5 'please use us!' code. I've had an account with them since we moved out last year, but I only had an electron for years so never actually used it. But I can finally order with them now the bank trusts me with a debit card *insert smug face*0 -

I seriously can't get it out of my head! I may start seeing a Muppet staring back when I look in the mirror!
I could do with a fancy money off code, OH and I keep saying that we really need to do an online shop but keep putting it off, we're at the stage of having intersting food combos because there's nothing else in!
Completely unrelated note, but has anyone been watching Homeland? I downloaded it and it is so good, quite sad that I'll be finishing it tonight.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. I got a code for free delivery from sainsburys, saving it for my first week of work when i expect i will not want to go food shopping.
After i ordered mug just saw on newsletter you can get a free one for £2 delivery. Never mind mine was cheap.
I just gave in and spent the last of Poppys christmas money on a top and some leggings . Need to get more next size clothes anyway even if she does appear to be getting smaller rather than bigger.
I use about 3 mins a month on my mobile lol, maybe i should share some of mine.0 -

Have you seen this NIM?!
Hope Poppy's feeling better Wendz, poor thing
How are you doing Dinah? They letting you go home?
Been to Crucial Crew this morning, playing the part of 999 Operator, answering the calls the kids make, telling them to stay safe and there's someone on the way. They were given an incident to call about but some of them embellished wonderfully i.e. 'A man's mugged my friend and there was loads of money in her purse!' and 'There was a head-on collision and it looks really grim!'
