Thanks Kavics. NIM keeps telling me I'm silly by thinking I'm failing her, but I only have one job to do atm - grow the baby - and I suppose yes, she's growing well which is a good thing, but for how long? My mum even called me up the other day to say how guilty she feels that she 'gave' me my blood pressure issues, so clearly an over developed guilt reflex is a family trait.

Oddly NIM and I haven't disagreed on names, if the other says no it doesn't make the list. There are a few on there one likes more than the other, but I guess we'll just have to see what she comes out like.

Seriously, with a surname like yours you really don't want to get carried away with the first name, think KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid!) :p

    Glad everything's OK Dinah :)

I'm going to be an Aunty in September :D You think your blood pressure problems are bad Dinah, SIL's IBS has flared up with her pregnancy and she's been disgustingly windy... we have to sit her next to an open window at all times!:rotfl:

Glad to hear the tests came back OK Dinah. I only got given my name on the way to hospital, in the 4 weeks prior to my birth I was known as Sarah, no idea where the last minute change of heart came from!

And I think most people go through phases of hating their name as they grow don't they? All through school I detested being called Sue and insisted on being called Susan, nowIcan't stand it and everyone knows me as Sue. Although I still think its a bit of an old lady name and don't know any other Sue's my age (sorry if that has offended anyone reading!) As long as she doesn't end up as Annette Curtain or Philippa Truck or something!

Btw if anyone still uses Myfitnesspal and sees I'm on it again - please don't worry that I'm trying to diet while pregnant. I was told the protein in urine is sometimes a sign of not actually eating enough protein (go figure) so I'm trying to monitor what I eat for a few days, check I'm getting enough. I've set the profile to maintaining levels rather than to loose weight as well.

Brilliant! :rotfl:My friend used to work at Blockbusters and had a regular customer called (seriously) Mike Hunt. _pale_

I went through a phase when I was younger of hating my name and desperately wishing my parents had named me Antonia (my middle name)... now I'm so glad they didn't! :p

My mum and dad agreed that my sister was to be called Bridget. But once she was born Mum named her differently and they put that name on birth certificate straight away. My dad was in the army but rushed back to see his newborn daughter but the receptionist couldn't find any Bridget. So my dad asked what she had with his surname and found out that my mum changed her mind:). My sister has a really nice name and is so grateful for my mum to change her mind:).

There'd be war if either of us did that, that said you do have up to a year to change it so...

Glad you are okay Dinah. I did wonder why NIM's consultant was seeing you!

I was 2 weeks old before I even had a name. My parents were convinced I was a boy so had only chosen a boys name!

We chose DD's name quite close to having her. I'd always said if I had a daughter I wanted to name her that but DH said he didn't like it as it was unusual (it's welsh and he's English and we were living in Lancashire at the time). As it got closer to her being born he decided he actually did like it as it was unusual (go figure) so that's what we chose. This time we struggled though as we wanted another welsh name but all the welsh boy's names I liked DH couldn't pronounce!!

Take care of yourself and the little one dinah
