I know! I said to OH 'you're not taking any games, are you..?' turns out he is. And his own controller because he's 'bedded that one in' I suppose if we hit a rainy miserable day while we're there it gives him entertainment while I skip off to the gym/spa.
That's great going with the card selling though, no shame in the money being for yourself. I'd have just said 'cake'Hope it goes well with the birthday cards too, you should offer to make custom cards. Unless that's what you're already doing then don't mind me!

I will be offering custom cards when I get round to it, but I think I'll have to specify a minimum notice period for these! I did one a couple of weeks ago for a chap and he gave me a day's notice to make it, and typically it was a night I was busy so had to rush it and felt like I'd given him something just 'OK'. Don't know why I get so worked up about it though, for the sake of £1.50-£2 is it worth me spending hours getting it perfect?! Who am I kidding, of course it is!
LOL at your OH bringing his controller with him! OH would totally do that too. And a headset so he could talk to his friends at home! Loser!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Oooh Cinny your holiday looks lush! Can I come?
No shame at all in the cards being for you Birdie! You're buying the materials and doing the work!
Hope your cold clears up soon Wendz, rubbish being ill at work! Glad Poppy is settling in.

I agree it looks lush. The holiday villages are great, we went to the one in spain a few years ago.
You are doing good on the card sales Birdie. No shame in doing it for yourself!
My cold has settled down a bit but i am knackered, oh well I only have tomorrow to work when i finish today.
I agree hope Dinah is ok, think she posted something on facebook yesterday so think she is.0 -
I'm here, I'm touched you're thinking of me. I had a rough morning of feeling tired, dizzy and very sick, so was reading but didn't post. Most of that has gone now but I still feel sick and a bit weak - my legs gave out crossing the road earlier :-/
Mum treated me to a pregnancy massage today, which was lovely. The poor girl was a bit scared to touch me though as it was only back, neck and shoulders, and everywhere she touched, no matter how lightly, actually cracked. She commented at the end that it was a very long time since she'd had someone so knotty.
Made NIM a huge chocolate fudge cake last night to celebrate me not being taken back into hospital after my midwife check yesterday. The cut off line for going in is 140/100... I was 138/98.... she seemed to be considering suggesting I go down anyway but I didn't give her the option!
So... cake of the day
It has all the layers on the inside, but it seemed wrong leaving a chocolate fudge naked on the outside. Unfortunately once I made it I realised there was an issue, we both prefer chocolate fudge warm, however our microwave filled the kitchen with smoke last time we used it, so there may be a bit of an issue with that.
Midwife did scare me a bit yesterday, she said she thinks it's likely that at my 28 week appointment (a week on Monday) the consultant is going to discuss giving me steroids to mature the baby's lungs. She thinks they'll do this in preparation for delivering somewhere between 28 and 32 weeks. I'm starting to actually like my consultant more as he doesn't scare me, he's just so laid back and if you mention things like early delivery he just says we're a long way off that yet and there are lots of things he can try before we get to that point. NIM would have him take me into hospital and keep me there from now until 40 weeks if it was up to him, but I'd be in pieces, I need to know my house is clean, tidy, decorated and generally baby ready before I can consider going in and staying in. He's the first to admit when I go in he sort of shuts down and all he does when he comes home is kill time on the net and go to bed early and not really sleep.
Your holiday still looks beautiful Cinny, I would kill NIM if he went near a console on holiday though! I love that holidays are about relaxing and just being together, which I don't really do at home, and while we both have a bit of a gamer history I don't want it on my holiday - I think I'd be ideally suited to somewhere with no electricity just hot water, a big bath and a huge pool! Awww what a shame that you're not enjoying some sunshine right now
I love the fact that you've made a cake to celebrate not being sent to hospital! Cutting it a bit close though! It looks amazing... you can always send the leftovers to me... please?!
If it does come to delivering the baby early, at least they're thinking about it now and planning the steroids so she's developed enough when she does arrive. Glad you've got a good consultant who seems to be planning ahead at the same time as helping you relax about it a bit.
Oh and NIM, I know it must be horribly lonely and depressing to be at home alone when wifey in the hospital, but if you want her to stay there and stay healthy then keep yourself busy by looking after the place so she doesn't stress about it and ends up coming home too soon!Plus, think what a nice surprise it'd be for her if she came home to a beautiful finished nursery

That cake looks awesome! I could just go for a piece of choc fudge cake now, mmmm.... What is the coating made from out of interest? It looks so glossy.
I made a bit of a cake beast myself at the weekend, will put pics up later if you all promise not to laugh!Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0 -

This is vair vair wise, Birdie! (poor NIM, it must be hard having to answer to Dinah's threadies too :rotfl:)
So glad you didn't have to go back into hospital Dinah, sorry you're having such a tough pregnancy. But as others have said, keeping yourself as healthy and relaxed as possible is the best thing you can do for the baby - how nice of you mum to treat you to a massageand it's great you have a consultant you're happy with too.
Wow, NIM is a lucky chap to come back to that cake - looks gorgeous! I wish you were near enough to commission for a wedding cakenot that you'd be slightly busy having a baby or anything...
We've been trying to order a cake this week - it's so hard! We don't want anything super fancy and white, but it pains me to pay £200+ for something I can do myself. If we didn't want sponge, I would probably do it, but I have a feeling I'd get stressed trying to do that the day before the wedding.
Yes please, Shrimpy, let's have more cake pics! (even thought I'm doing the Dukan diet at the moment, so all treats are banned - I'm just torturing myself! I nearly licked the screen when the chocolate fudge cake popped up)
Glad it's going well back at work Wendz, must be really weird, but easier if Poppy is happy at nursery.
Well done on your card sales Birdie - £1.50-2.00 sounds cheap to me! I keep seeing handmade cards that are £4-5  I wouldn't buy them, obviously (Martin Lewis would have a fit!) but some people must...LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380
