Im stressed just about getting there, our town is a complete nightmare in school rush hour type times, I'm planning to set off, and if it's as awful trying to get in as it potentially could be I'll park the car at Tesco which is probably about 1km from where I'm going and walk in. Not due there for 45mins and it's only a 5min drive, but think I better set off now in case I do need to walk.

Hi everyone, just catching up after our week in Somerset! Cottage was lovely apart from finding out on the last day that the windows in the front room didn't have catches or locks and anyone could have got in by simply pushing one of the panes of glass! Oh and the neighbours made the week a living hell. There was one who was obsessed with us not parking in front of the cottage. I told her every day that we were parking in the pub car park but she still took to banging on the door EVERY MORNING to remind me not to park in what was actually our parking space. And the one the other side saw me leave and screamed at me for not locking the door. Told her that Chris was still inside and would be locking up and meeting me at the car once he'd brushed his teeth. She didn't believe me and we had an awkward phone call from the owner of the cottage saying that she had phoned him and said we'd been leaving his property unlocked! Caught her checking the front door when we came back from Bath and she didn't apologise, just said she was looking out for the interests of the village. Safe to say we wont be going back there again!

I'm glad you had a nice time Ruby, but those neighbours sound demented!

TBH Ruby I'd be looking for money back from the owner for the neighbours who can only be described as insane...If it was me I'd have been round both their houses causing the problems at MUCH more inconvenient times of the day / night, like 3am. But I am vindictive that way.

I could understand if we were being inconsiderate but we went out of our way to be nice. The whole village reminded me a little bit of The League of Gentlemen...Have emailed the company we booked through to let them know that the place is definitely not a 3* cottage like they are trying to make out. Will see how far I get...

Still think some form of revenge upon these people would have been in order. Where was it?

How did the pilates go, Dinah?

The neighbours do sound like a total nightmare, Ruby! I'd send the actual owner a email complaining, and then if you booked it through an agent I'd email them too complaining about the star rating.

Has anyone seen the thing about Groupon on the news? Hope they managed to buck up a little, I might actually use them then!

We did walk away with a puppy :Dta-dah. He's only 7 weeks old, and bloody adorable. But he's going to be a beast. He woke me up howling about an hour ago, and now he's curled up next to me snoozing while I'm wide awake. Can't even be mad when he's so bloody fluffy.
