I don't like using two spoons - I always smile thinking of nana but I look on it as twice as many scrapings of batter wasted :D

No it's two spoons to lick ! :p

That is exactly what I thought! I use two spoons too but not sure it makes a difference or whether it just makes me feel a bit more chef-fy! It's a bit like the eggs-in-fridge or eggs-in-cupboard debate, I keep mine in the cupboard as I heard that was better for baking.

Glad you are feeling better Dinah, I knew you would come to a good resolution. Thanks for the heads-up on ebay, definitely going have to venture into the parental loft!

It might still be worth a call to Vodaphone, if it's a one-off they may do something out of goodwill. One of our site managers once swapped the SIM in his work phone into his iPhone, not realising that obviously we would then be paying for all the internet etc (no data allowance as the work phone was a standard Nokia) The bill came to over £5k for the month! I nearly died when I opened it! But O2 refunded the entire thing, luckily!

Wow well done to your Dad on the ebay sales Cinny! I might stick a couple of bits on over the weekend if I get a chance. I had hoped to have a free afternoon tomorrow but OH gave me the puppy dog eyes and asked me to take him to rugby and hang around to watch so I've stupidly agreed, providing the weather is like this! He's also coming along to the opticians now (its not in our home town) 'for the ride out'... I think he's coming to make sure I don't run away with him! :rotfl:

Oh my god!!! Good job he got it refunded, although makes you wonder why they just let you rack up a bill that big without alerting you to the fact that something's not right!

I know, I think that's why they refunded it without a quibble because they knew how outrageous it was! I actually scanned it and emailed it around the other managers (blocking out who'd done it of course) as a cautionary tale! It was in his contract that he would technically have had to pay for it himself too, eeek!

Agreed completely, I recognise you from posting somewhere else Duchy. Where?
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

  • Glad you both got to talk Dinah and NIM. It sounds like you have worked out a plan that suits your family. Now you can chill out and enjoy the rest of the pregnancy!

Evie has decided to wake twice a night to practice saying Dada and is up for the day now at 5.30am. Needless to say I am less than impressed!

I really should stop trying to be efficient. BP has been wildly varied all weekend, so I thought since I need to keep my feet up I'd try to sort out my very slow and full computer. It appears taking the approach of deleting any file or folder whose contents I do not immediately know what they are was a terrible plan, as I have now uninstalled my display drivers.

Morning all! Hope everyone had a good weekend, can't believe its Monday already!

Hope you sort your computer out Dinah, not exactly sure what a display driver is but it sounds fairly important! Our laptop is the same, soooo slow, and my approach is exactly the same as yours!

Whoops, hope you managed to reinstall the driver Dinah! I've deleted things like the printer driver so many times I'm really careful to research any odd looking programs before getting rid of them now! :o

Hope everyone had a good weekend, once again Monday has appeared far too soon for me! Why can't I have 3-day weekends?! ;)
