Glad you have had a chat and now know where each other stand on things. We are kind of lucky in a way that OH works shifts as it means sometimes he is here during the day and working at night so sees more of Poppy. He gets days off in the week sometimes (although some are after a night shift) so at least Poppy won't be going to nursery 4 days a week every week. Although we will still be paying for that. Won't be seeing much of him this summer with the olympics though , looking like he will be getting a day off every 6 or 7 days and that will be after a night shift and this will be for about 15 weeks. Just have to think of the money though and how it will help towards the wedding.
My Mum friends are amazed i manage to make cakes with a baby but i just stick her in highchair with her lunch and do it then or let her explore the kitchen (obviously watching her!). Will be great when she can help with the cake making.0 -
Payday - yey! NIMs phone bill 9x what it usually is - boo!
Neither of us have any idea why his phone bill is £188.70 for one month, a call to vodafone is in order. That puts a fairly major spanner in the debt clearance for the month if his phone bill is £169 more than it usually is.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off0 -
Yay for payday! If neither of you know why the phone bill is so much definately needs sorting out.
I get paid on tues for the whole 2 days work i did this month .0 -
It appears the phone bill is genuine. NIM went 400 mins over his call allowance. I just find it staggering that that is what it comes to.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Oh my goodness, how has he managed to go over by 400 minutes?! Is there a way of locking the outgoing calls once the limit has been reached? If there isn't then there should be!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0

Some operators do it. I'm ringing them tonight to see what I can sort out. But given I get 600 minutes inclusive theres an issue when I spend 750 odd on the phone to the wife each month. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0

Yikes! It's horrible when things like that happens. But blummin'eck! I just text OH through the day. I have 3000 minutes on my plan though, I think I use about 400
Sounds like you've got great plans for you weekend, Birdie! My OH is working all weekend, so I'm just going to steal some of the dogs to walk tomorrow, then my Dad wants some help with ebay on Sunday with it being free listing. He's obsessed with it! Give him credit though, he's earnt £1700 this year from it.0 -
I blame the mystery shopping
Glad you two talked -and hormones are horrible things !!
I know how tough it was when my son's Dad worked stupid hours when he was born -it definitely put strain on our marriage (who am I kidding it eventually killed it some six years later -not the only reason but the biggest contributing factor) and he was miserable because he missed so much of the early milestones and when he was home he was knackered with the driving so to put yourselves through that without a definite and big financial payoff isn't something to jump at IMO.
With hindsight I'd have insisted we moved closer sooner but we didn't for many of the same reasons Dinah cited-but every situation and marriage is different and I'm sure you two will work it out without a long term lurker telling you horror stories so I'll bleather off to Aldi to buy some cooking chocolate to make brownies now
(Brownies are to fortify me to face the junk pile in the cellar for some ebay listings so essential rather than naughty )I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0
