£150 each or in total - are you looking for a hotel with breakfast, half board, city or rural ie will you hire a car or does it need to be more easy to get to? Anything on your wish list ie would love it to have a pool/character, or is the hotel just a base to stay at to explore the area?

Oh Cinny, that is rubbish about your brother's GF. Supporting someone is one thing, being instructed to sell your car is quite another! Is this something she has wanted to do for a while or is it likely she'll go off the idea again? Surely the car will only fund them so far anyway?

Good news on the £120 though!

I was determined not to click on your holiday link Dinah but I did and now I'm depressed!

£150 in total if possible, or thereabouts. We can up it if necessary, it's not like we're forking out for flights, just want more spendies for presents for me! :o

We're quite happy with self catering or B&B. We won't be getting a car so would like somewhere within walking distance of beach/restaurants etc. We just want somewhere to chill out, swim and read so a pool is a big tick.

  • Birdie my parents have a place 5 min taxi ride from murcia airport, so I know the area quite well. Id give you the details but its on a golf course so you really need a car as though ypu can see the sea its too far to walk! But the town of los alcazares is really pretty, loads of restaurants and lovely beach front. And its hot!

Yey, just logged on paypal as I expected there to be about £35 in there I could move to the bank account, but there is £122. So sent that over.

Advance warning, this month's charts are going to be AWFUL. We've finished buying almost all the baby stuff, we've had some hefty bills, but most of all we booked the MS holiday on the credit card, which will come back in about 6 weeks time, but until then it is a very big balance.

Next month may not be much better as we will need some wood to make a storage unit for the babies room, a new floor laying, the car needs a service, quite possibly around a £1k outlay for the business, and we've had the vodafone bill which I'm hoping NIM can talk them into knocking down a bit.

So we're setting ourselves a big March challenge, we're going to focus solely on clearing my HSBC credit card, and NIMs HSBC credit card. Between the two of them this is about £3k, no small chunk of change. We've cancelled getting a new fence put up so NIM is going to have to go and smile very nicely at the neighbour and promise it will happen eventually - as the one there right now is literally on its last legs - there are 3ft holes in places since the winter winds. It's hard though sometimes, as I have such strict ebay selling limits,

Holiday looks brilliant Dinah , am jealous! Must feel good to have most the baby stuff bought.

Cinny - grr about your brothers gf, she gets worse everytime you tell us about her. That sounds very selfish of her.
  • Looks like a lovely holiday Dinah & NIM. It's great that you are getting to go somewhere before the baby arrives. We went to Oz before Max was born because we knew we wouldn't get out to see family and friends there for a good few years. It was great to chill out before he arrived! Oh just remembered - we went on 2 mini-breaks to Spain too. We were very good to ourselves!

Cinny -your brothers gf sounds so spoilt :(

Birdie - I am jealous that you have a choice of so many lovely places! I would always opt for Barcelona but I am biased and it is quite pricey over there so somewhere else might be better!

We have had a very spendy weekend getting stuff for our new place. We bought a 40" LED Samsung TV, a blu ray player (Samsung), outdoor toys for Max for his birthday, some stuff for his new room and a cotbed for his new room from Mamas and Papas. I was going to buy him a toddler bed in Ikea but wasn't fussed on the quality. The cot bed will be passed down to Evie so I don't feel too bad, and I love the quality of Mamas and Papas.
