Speaking of Cinny, she seems to have vanished. Please tell me she didnt take my suggestion seriously.
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

LOL, Cinny's gone on a fish slapping rampage! :rotfl:

Sounds very spendy CMD! But you might as well get everything for your new place now so you can settle :)

Speaking of spending, I've had a recommendation from my optician for an independent laser eye surgeons who cost no more than the other companies about so just waiting for some info from them, they've got a special 50% off deal if you have a consultation this month so going to see if they can squeeze me in tomorrow or Wednesday so I can get the money off! Had a very interesting conversation about the 'high street' companies and their pricing policies and success rates which has definitely convinced me to go independent! Did you know that Optical Express will make up a stupidly high price if they don't have the know-how to fix an awkward prescription, so rather than saying, 'We can't do it but someone else might be able to' they say,'Ahhh we could do it, but it'll cost £10,000' knowing full well that the person won't come back!

Morning all! Payday for me at long long last, just done the money shuffle and am skint again, but it was nice for 10 minutes while it lasted! And the sig looks better, which it hasn't done for a long time. Am going to London this weekend which will inevitably be quite spendy but hopefully have a frugal month lined up otherwise. Need to really focus on getting the extra pennies rolling in this month!

Hope you are settling well in your new place CMD.

Birdie, that is so naughty about the opticians! You can't trust anyone these days!

I love the thrill of a good sig update. Somehow I don't think I'm going to get one this month! I just keep looking and thinking 'how have we paid over £1000 off this one credit card alone, yet still be in a worse position?!'.

Chuffed to get a bit of an ebay bargain last night, the baby swing I wanted in nearly new condition for £35 rather than £100 new. We are literally down to just having a moses basket mattress and some sheets for that and the cot, possibly a changing table, and then the wood for the unit, flooring and paint to get now.

London will be good Shrimpy, do you have anything in particular planned there?

OH got his eyes lasered at optical express, they did keep lowering the price though as he kept saying no. He is so glad he got them lasered though.

CMD - sounds like a spendy weekend but you got some nice stuff! Can't believe Max will be 2!

We are off to nursery for Poppys first settling in session, i get to stay with her today though is ust for an hour.

Just missed your post Dinah. We had a swing, only a cheap simple one but they are great and have heard brilliant things about the more expensive ones.

I got this one ... I may have fallen for the zebra! I've heard babies either love them or hate them, but they can be good for restless or colicky babies, and at least I should be able to resell it for about what I bought it for if she doesn't like it.

Of course I didn't. If I finally got the joy of slapping her I'd much rather use a chair :A

She's spoilt as hell, CMD. Its crazy that she's 22 and still stomps, sulks and has a fit when she doesn't get her own way. They're over for tea tonight, so I'm going to stick my nose in, while appearing to just be making polite conversation.

Sounds like a seriously spendy weekend, CMD! But everything will get plenty of use no doubt, so it isn't too bad.

Hope you and Poppy have fun at Nursery today, Wendz. Good news on getting a bit more pay too, hope March isn't as tight as you're expecting!
