That is so sad about that ladies husband Dinah.
Sorry to hear about work Archers, does sound like a good thing you are going travelling. Hopefully you can use the day off to make some money in other ways.
Lara - fogot to say earlier yay for finishing the hard work, hope you have a nice relaxing weekend.0 -
Wow. Seems that bad news is spreading round here. Hope your friend gets all the support she needs Dinah. And Archers, maybe this is the sign that you need a new start. Travelling sounds wonderful, just wish I had the balls to go out there and do it. On night shifts again here. Didn't sleep all day yesterday waiting for a delivery for my dad that never showed. Just found out that I've been paid twice for some overtime I did a few weeks ago. They never processed my original claim form so was told to put in a duplicate, and they've ended up processing both. I have no idea how I'm supposed to sort this out. Guess I'll be on the phone to payroll all day monday trying to get it sorted. Don't really want them taking £100 out of my wages on Friday as that's got to last me 5 weeks! Hope you're all having a good weekend and don't get too stressed with the Christmas rush!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170

I feel like a bit of a lurker now :') Caught up best I can but I'm so fuzzy headed for Christmas I can't remember what I wanted to say.
Hope everyone's well! All this bad news isn't good, really sorry to hear about your job Archers!Sounds like you have a plan, but I really hope you'll be okay.
Not a great deal to report from my end money wise anymore. We're, well, fine. Was our 4 year anniversary last Wednesday, just went out for dinner and shopping. Nothing special! Although I did wear a size 8 dress which was weird. Even though I'm eating total rubbish, constantly (because it's Christmaaassss!) and not exercising (because it's Christmaaassss!) I'm still losing weight, which is nice!0 -
Sounds like you've got your metabolism to a good place Cinny. Always lovely to hear from you.
I was asked to be a bridesmaid at a Christmas 2012 wedding next year, good reason to get on and shift the baby weight before it starts thinking it's welcome.
Have had hiccups for nearly an hour now, and several bouts over the weekend, starting to drive me a bit batty tbh!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

What's up with the lurking Cinny?! I miss you! Good on you for relaxing the diet/exercise regime for Christmas, and for still losing weight despite that!
What rubbish news about work Archers, you've picked a good time to go away!
How annoying about the overtime mix-up Ruby, can you speak to HR and ask about paying it back in installments so you're not struggling too much in January?
Payday tomorrow and I'm so looking forward to having money again, we've both completely run out this month! I made a stupid error with my geeky Christmas gifts spreadsheet and it wasn't adding everything up because I'd added to the list and forgot to change the sum in the totals box so I thought I'd done well with OH and come in on budget, then thought about it and wondered how I'd managed to get so much for so little, realised what had happened and it turns out I'm £70 over! :rotfl:
Getting excited about Christmas now although feeling fairly unprepared, plenty still to finish making and I can't buy ingredients for the foody gifts until there's money in the bank, I suppose I can get the jars ready and make my labels tonight ready for the stuff to go in on Wednesday when I get chance to make it, my to-do list has had 'Buy Ingredients!!!' on it for weeks now!
Quite pleased with the Secret Santa gift I found for my colleage; got a really pretty necklace and earring set in Dorothy Perkins for £1 reduced from £10 (I wish I'd bought more, went back the next day and they were all gone) and a nail varnish set from Sainsbury's reduced to £4 from £8 so she's got £18 worth of gifts for £5!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Hello all,
Cinny - nice to see you . Sounds like everything is going well. Well done At the size 8 dress !
Flower - you are so good . When poppy is asleep ( which is not often haha) I use it as an excuse to put my feet up.
Dinah - hope you get rid of those hiccups soon. Wait till the baby is hiccuping inside you , is so strange!
Birdie - sounds like a great secret Santa present. Oops about the spreadsheet , at least you get paid tomorrow.
We are off to my work this afternoon for Santa day. Someone will be dressing as santa and all the kids get pressies. Will be nice to see my team too.0 -
Got my big Christmas food order through last night.... they only delivered half the number of mushrooms I'd ordered, and 5 brussell sprouts - who in their right mind only orders 5 sprouts?! So going to have to go to the supermarket anyway.
ETA: Except I guess I'm not in my right mind, NIM found the grater had been neatly tidied into the fridge rather than the dishwasher last night!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Well for some completely insane reason we have decided just after Christmas is a good time to move house!
Our house is so poorly insulated that its freezing and costs a fortune to heat so when Noah was born we decided we need to move. I have got so much packing and sorting to do that I dont really have much time to put my feet up! I'm having a treat today and having a day off from it.Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
