Zig - glad you're enjoying yourself in Australia!

Birdie - congrats to your Mr for passing his test! I've had my full license almost 2 months now and I still haven't driven to work on my own. Problem is I work such long hours and when I'm tired, I'm a rubbish driver. So I don't want to chance it.

Woke up at 3 this morning shaking and my throat felt like it was on fire. Turns out I have tonsillitis (for the first time in my almost 25 years on this planet) and a temperature of 38.7! Sent my mum out to get me liquid paracetamol and some Tyrozets throat lozenges. Still feel awful and if I'm no better in the morning, I'll be heading to the drop in clinic in town for some anti-biotics. Just hope I haven't passed anything onto my friend's twins. He assures me they're fine but I still worry!

This time last year I was standing on Charles Bridge in Prague in the snow while my boyfriend proposed to me :)

  • Well I have a car story today... Boyfriend came to pick me up at work and the car ran out of petrol. Work being in a village a few miles from town. Cue me dashing around like crazy finding a petrol can and a lift to town and back. Idiot boy! Apparently he thought the warning light would give him a final warning...

Let that be a lesson to Mr birdie! Congrats to him though :)

Got my birthday party tomo, excited to see everyone!

My last car didn't have a warning light. I put £30 in it on the Friday, and didn't drive it all weekend. I got in it to go to work on the Monday, didn't even look at the gauge, and it ran out of fuel on the dual carriageway. I was picked up by a policeman who clearly thought I was a dizzy female driver, who took me to work in the back of the squad car and put the lights and sirens on when we entered the car park just so all my colleagues would come to the window and notice me. Turns out my mum had been using the car all weekend and neglected to tell me.

Aw how romantic! Hope you feel better soon - tonsilitis is no fun :(

Noo, Dinah, that must have been embarrassing!

Well done to Mr Birdie for passing his driving test! And how rude of him not to want to drive your car! I bet he's happy enough to get driven places :rotfl:

Sounds like the mummies have all got lovely Christmas plans for the little ones :) nightmare about Poppy pulling down the tree, Wendz! Glad she didn't hurt herself though.

Sorryto hear about your job, Shrimpy - that's rubbish news at this time of year, but hope you'll find something quickly.

Hey Zig! Glad you're enjoying Oz - it must be a massive change, but it's definitely worthwhile. And sunny too...?!

Hope you've all got lovely weekends planned. I'm randomly (but excitingly) going to spend tomorrow making croquembouche with a couple of friends (who also got slightly addicted to the Great British Bake Off) - cue lots of profiteroles and spun sugar! And mess!

    Morning all, good weekends?

We went and got our tree (£40 ), but it's still naked as I've had a rotten weekend with sickness and tiredness. The 3 1/2 hour nap I accidentally took yesterday afternoon was a source of huge regret when at 2.30am I was still wide awake. With a bit of luck the tree will get decorated tonight.

NIM did me the graph and chart last night, so finally the monthly update will be going up this evening too. I've done a forward projection for December too and things are looking bloody dire, around £7.80 a day cleared!

We're going to work out how much all the different income streams are generating each month over the Christmas break. Mystery shopping should be a good earner, but something is going wrong so we need to actually cost it. It may be that we'd be better with NIM doing less MSing and more housework, giving me more time to Ebay.

Both suffering with a dry cough today, glad I finish early on a Monday as I have the midwife. Had a hectic morning not able to find keys, jacket, hairbrush, forgot to bring any food for breakfast or lunch, forgot to defrost anything for dinner... can't wait for the day to be over.

Sounds like the Monday blues there big time Dinah! Well done to the baby for passing it's first test though! :D

How did the croquembouche making go Poddle?! What a delightfully random thing to do! :)

Christmas party on Saturday was OK; too many people crammed onto the tables (I had to sit on a corner!), food was comically bad, DJ dire, dance floor the size of a postage stamp and drinks overpriced... but we had a good laugh about it! Met OH and some friends afterwards and got home at stupid o'clock so yesterday was a very lazy day! :o

Hope you're feeling better today Ruby. I've never had tonsilitis, does not sound nice though :(

Glad your DD enjoying seeing Santa Starnac! What's she asked him to bring her?

We watched the Polar Express for the first time last night... jeez it doesn't half go on, very impressive 3D but after what felt like 3 hours we were like, 'We get it, the animation is very clever... now find Santa already!!!' Wish we'd stuck to the old favourites... going to have to watch one a night now to get them all in by Christmas! :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

I downloaded Polar Express last night, hope the non-3d is abridged!

Have burst into tears for no reason 3 times this morning, I think I may be somewhat sleep deprived. Either that or I'm having a breakdown.
