I thought it was only me that had strange dreams Bridie :rotfl: if only we could pay for things with tinsel, I have lots
Had a better night lastnight, although with his blocked nose Noah was snoring very loudly :rotfl: bless him.Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Nice to see Starnac, hope everything with the family is well.
Arghh about the money Birdie, when is your christmas party? Going anywhere nice?
Aww bless Noah Flower!
OH has just taken our car to get the air con fixed as it was broken when we bought it and happened to be those boiling days in the begining of oct. Don't think we will be using the air con now but will need it in the summer and car should all be working when we bought it.
Did most of the wrapping last night! Still waiting on a couple of things to arrive but the bulk is done.0 -
Glad Noah had a better night Flower, even if he was snoring!
christmas party is tomorrow night in a hotel in Harrogate, not expecting too much as my friend had her Christmas do there last year and had to complain to the manager about the food! I'm sure it'll be fine though, but won't be drinking too much as can't afford it thanks to Daddy! Can't be too cross with him, he's 60 next week so almost an OAP, he's allowed to lose his marbles!
Well done on getting everything wrapped Wendz! I still have loads to wrap, did a few last night but still plenty left to do- and I've got to find everything first, hidden stuff all over the place and not sure where it all is now! Glad I was all geeky and wrote it down on a spreadsheet, I can check it off as I find presents so I know what's missing!
The air con on my old car broke and someone told me that it's best to run it every so often during the winter to keep it going rather than not use it for 6 months then find out on a hot day that it's bust; the people who run it all the time are the ones who never complain about it breaking!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. At least you won;t be dissapointed at the party if it isn't so great. Our work partys are always a bit rubbish, usually in some back room in a pub somewhere in London haha, we do get free food and drink though so shouldn't really complain. Not upset to be missing it this year though.
I did use the air con to desteam sometimes in the old car so will have to make sure i used it every now and then in new one once its fixed.0 -
Birdie your dream was well funny. If only we could pay in tinsel that would be fab. I'm not going to my work's christmas do either. I'm feeling really anti-social and it won't be much of a hardship to miss it as I'm not too friendly with the people I work with anyway after the way they all behaved in the summer towards another member of staff. Maybe me and the baby will have our own Christmas party!!
Wow well done on the wrapping Wendz. I haven't even started mine although I have sorted out into bags of who's who. Presents to go the in laws, presents to go to my parents etc but haven't started wrapping. Surely that's what Christmas eve is for????Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Don't blame you Starnac, don't sound like a nice bunch of people.
I am planning on taking half the presents down next weekend as am visiting my Mum and Dad and then we are back down on the 23rd/24th. Think the car might be a bit full with them all at once although not sure how i will get all Poppys presents back after Christmas!0 -
good plan wendz. We are visiting my inlaws the week between christmas and new year so we'll take their presents up then. The car will be quite full with an extra person in the car this year. He may be small but he sure does take up a lot of room!
We are spending christmas in our own house this year. My mum, step dad and sister will come down in the morning to see DD open her presents but then they'll go home when we go to church and come back down after their dinner (they only live 2 streets away). Not sure how we'll manage to cook dinner with church and 2 kids though - we may not be eating til 5pm :cool:Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
I'd be screwed if we did get to pay with tinsel IRL, we don't have it in our home!
I hate the feeling of it, but then I hate the feel of fake trees too so I'm just probably a bit odd about Christmas decorations!
OH passed his driving test this morning! Sneaky thing didn't even tell me it was today, I was wondering why he couldn't get to sleep last night, he was too nervous the poor thing! Asked him when he was going to go on his first solo drive and the answer was, 'When we get a new car 'cos yours is crap'... so he might not be on the road 'till June time! *rolleyes* He's also done the typical useless man thing of remembering today that he needs new rugby boots for tomorrow afternoon... and we have no sports shops in town! So it looks like we'll be going shopping tomorrow morning for boots then racing back in time for his match, why couldn't he have ordered some online on Sunday when he decided he needed them?!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. tinsel is like the opposite of money as we all have more of it at christmas than any other time of the year!
