I go away to the Clothes Show Live to do a stall with Mrs P and the worlds biggest news kicks off! Damn you no free internet in the travelodge!

Huge Congratulations Dinah and NIM, hope you get time to relax and everything goes perfectly.

Wendz - That is such a shock so close to christmas.

The show was boring by the end of it as we were close to a stage and was sick of the same acts and dancing (we were in the dance show part). The hosts were shocking and we were next to a boy band called FranKo who kept mobbing us out with the young girls flocking for pictures after they performed. Mrs P covered the cost of the stall and either the van or travelodge (new one at the end of Birmingham airport). If I hear the song "Moves like jagger" I am going to kill!

Thanks everyone, I think my last proper day is today but I might be in again just to tidy up. Not sure what I will be getting moneywise, it is all being sorted out today but should get something. Have only been working here for just under two years as it is quite a new company, I worked for one of their partners before that. I have some money stashed to buy a car which will help cover my outgoings so I can make it through to Feb without panicking at the moment, applied for a few temporary cover positions last night which are immediate starts so fingers crossed. Am trying to see it as an opportunity and not worry too much at the moment, might be naive but it's happened now so don't see any point stressing.

Great news on the twins Ruby! Thank you for bringing good news back to the thread :)

Zig, great to 'see' you! Glad you are enjoying it, go on, upload some sunny pictures for us! Rub it in! :p

Birdie, I think its only fair you share your chocolate round the thread... What did you get today? I didn't realise you had a blog!

My blog's only a little thing, no-one reads it regularly (apart from Tete bless her!) but I like to put my stuff 'out there' when I make it, makes me feel happy! :o Although since my fabby phone camera broke all I have is my crummy old camera that takes fuzzy photos no matter what setting it's on, I want a flash camera to take nice pictures with! :o

Wow can't believe you're finished so soon Shrimpy, I thought you'd have a couple of weeks or something! It's good news that you've got some savings though, you're lucky to have that buffer, although it's a shame that you've got to dip into the pot I'm sure you'll get something else soon :)

Nice to see you Zig! Glad you're enjoying yourself, what have you been getting up to? It's to be expected that you're still feeling a little emotional about what happened but in time it will pass, it's still raw right now. Sending 10,000 mile hugs!

I got a mini Lindor in my calendar today, yum! And in my house I got a tacky pink reindeer necklace! :D

    Morning everyone,

Ruby - that is lovely about your friend, congratulations to them!

Zig - glad you are loving Australia ! I seem to know a few people over there at the moment.

Poolie - that does sound like a nightmare at the clothes show being next to the stage. Hope Mrs Poolie did well on her sales anyway.

Shrimpy - that is good you have the extra money but hope you find something else soon as possible.

Birdie - advent calendar goodies sound fab! I got a snowman chocolate today.

Really sorry abotu the job shrimpy, what is it that you do? Very handy you have savings and low debts, bet you feel so glad to have faced them when you did.

cheery money news... erm? NIM hopefully will have time to do the graph and chart for the November update tonight. December is looking to be a complete wash out - I've made loads on ebay so far, but at the moment have nothing at all listed, and we're planning to take a week off to get the house ready for Christmas, so I can't see us making much more this month. His mystery shopping fund has been decimated by a complate balls up by a deep discounter supermarket he audited, who instead of refunding his audit ammount of £65ish, charged him it again, resulting in him going overdrawn without him knowing, and £75 of bank charges as a result. A complaint will be going in but I very, very much doubt they'll give us the bank charges. It's thrown all our other budgets out too as we had to take the petrol money to fill the overdraft and float for the account. I'm wondering at the moment how worthwhile it is for him to be doing it, as he only seems to make around £150 profit a month which can be sent over to clear the debts, and that's not worth him being out all weekend every weekend.

Looks like NIMs dad now isn't coming for Christmas. His brother probably wasn't coming as he wanted to go to a horse race, but has now decided definately not as the flight is the wrong time and his dad doesn't want the brother to be alone. Which is fair enough except brother doesn't care about Christmas and NIM does and hasn't seen his dad for months, so it's a real dissapointment. At the moment the only possibility is if NIM gets up at 5am and drives his brother to manchester airport on boxing day - but I do think this is a bit of a ropey plan as if it snows or is icy they'll not make it in time. I didn't realise trains didn't run on boxing day.

Awww I'd love twins. Only a 1/90 chance of them naturally occuring though so I won't be getting my hopes up!

Glad you're enjoying Australia Zig, I'm sorry for the baby chat. I know nothing will bring the baby you lost back, but one day you will have a family when the time is right. Make the most of your adventure now as it's a once in a lifetime thing.

Glad the clothes show went well Poolie, did she make much money out of it?

I read your blog Birdie! I just don't comment much.

Hmmm that is not so cheery money news Dinah! What a pain about the c0ck up and the overdraft charges! Grrr. It seems like NIM's flogging his guts out for not that much gain TBH, with the baby on the way wouldn't it be nicer to have him at home and doing more home-based money-making at the weekend, the odd MS phonecall, ebay and matched betting. As nice as it is to go out and make some money, time spent at home (even if it productive) is invaluable, what's the point in working hard to have a nice house if he never sees it? :)

Really sorry that NIM's Dad and brother aren't coming for Christmas, what a shame. :( Why can't his brother go to his Mum's so he's not alone on Christmas day? And I'm saying nothing about the brother wanting to go to a horse race rather than spend time with family! :p

How's the business going? Not had an update for a while! :)

And thanks for reading my little blog! :)

His mum is in Thailand over Christmas. Brother could go to grandparents if he wanted I think.

He should be making mroe than he is, I just don't get it. I know this supermarket thing has knackered his figures for the month, but I really don't think it's worth doing if it's putting less than £300 a month off the debt.

Time at home is what we're working for once the baby is here, but right now it's a luxury we can't afford. If he didn't do the MSing, he'd take a weekend job. The only way we can afford for me to take the full years maternity is to have no debts, so we need to keep slogging away now. We do have a LOT of stuff left to ebay though. NIM is better out the house with a structure, if he stays home we get a lot less done as we're just far too clingy and spend the whole day curled up together watching films!

i'm not involved in the business at the moment, it's NIMs project. I don't need the stress with my blood pressure so unstable. Once it's launched I'll get involved again.

Thanks Dinah, I'm Office Manager for a company who run concessions in the leisure industry, I'm based at an animal attraction which is quite cool as I get to see rhinos and hippos at work every day. Its only a small company, my OH laughs when I say I'm Office Manager as there's only me in the office :D but that will hopefully be an advantage as it means I do everything from accounts to HR to payroll.

And I have you to thank for facing my debts when I did, it was reading your first diary that made me believe it was possible, so without wishing to make the thread all soggy, I genuinely do owe you an unbelievable amount of thanks. I'm sure I'm not the only one you inspired either, us lurkers are everywhere you know :p
