If Monday was good news day then today must be bad news day. Just found out our company is going into liquidation and I don't have a job any more. It's not totally unexpected but still a bit of a shock how quickly it all happens when it happens, if that makes sense. Just so glad I have cleared most of my debts, otherwise I don't know how I would have managed.

So sorry to hear about your job Shrimpy! Hope you manage to find something else soon. Certainly is bad news day!
Birdie - enjoy decorating your tree!
We have a 'family'advent calander so basically i let Poppy have a quick suck of the chocolate and then i eat it and OH doesn't get a look in, works out well for me.
Had a nice time at Poppy's little friends this afternoon. Got some cute pics but left my camera there oops, will be seeing the mum tomorrow so will get it back then.0 -

Oh no Shrimpy, how rubbish
I don't know much about that kind of thing but do you get the equivilent of redundency money? Or is all the money gone?
And how awful about your friend Wendz, what a horrible day. Thinking of her poor family.
Any good money news dinah/nim to cheer us up?
Fricking love all your new bloggy bits Birdie, my chocolate advent calender feels rubbish in comparison.

Oh no Shrimpy! Hopefully you can find something else soon.
And Wendz, I am so sorry to hear about your friend. It certainly is a shock when anyone passes on but so suddenly and with a young child is truely heartbreaking.
However, I come bearing good news for the thread; my oldest friend from school phoned me out of the blue today to tell me his girlfriend had gone into labour and if I was at work could I pop up and keep him company. Well as I went up there in my lunch break she had just had...twin girls! They were so adorable and gorgeous and made me more than a little broody. I will be interesting to see how they cope because there is a history of twins in my family....Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
Oh what rubbish news Shrimpy!
Hope you find a new job quickly, when does the business close?
Don't tell anyone but I have a chocolate advent calendar too!OH felt guilty about not filling my house when he saw his bucket calendar that he bought me a Lindt one and it's yummy!
What lovely news about the twins Ruby!
I hate it when I don't have the TV on at home as I can hear the noisy upstairs lot banging around, which makes quiet time impossible! I feel like going upstairs and telling them that their 5 year old should be in bed at this time!
Tree is all decorated now, waiting for OH to come home and put the last few special decorations on but it looks very nice and festive! Feel like a sherry and a mince pie now, but we don't have any!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

Aw lucky you, seeing them all brand new! A gypsy palm reader told me I'd have twins which is a bit scary

Major congratulations Dinah and NIM! So pleased for you both
Shrimpy I'm so sorry to hear about your job. I hope you get redundancy money or something.
Wendz that's awful news about the woman from your baby group. Her family must be devastated
Ruby that's so nice that you got to see the twins so soon! Not surprised you were broody, it'd be impossible not to!
Flower I am so pleased to hear (read?) how happy you are. You deserve it
Been in Australia a week now and loving it. Had an emotional day or two where I well up if I see a baby (so forgive me for not being all into the pregnancy chat - not yet anyway, still hurts a bit when it pops into my head). But that's probably not helped by just being emotional cuz it's a big change and stuff. I do love it out here though.
Hope everyone is wellx
